User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.It had taken him much longer than he had wished to figure out where the location Aysu had told him of actually was. Searching though books had never been his forte to begin with, and having Eiji and then Croix around had been quite the distraction to his research.

Once he had figured out where to go, though, getting there had not been hard - the Door had opened to the rubble of what once looked to have been an hunting cabin - smack dab next to a river. "There." He looked around for a moment, watching the way the water flowed. "The spring must be... somewhere up there. Closer to the mountains."

User Image Glyph had been itching to get out, to explore and connect more. Ever since their return from the desert world, Glyph had often immersed himself in the living, breathing world for days at a time. When he'd heard Xun was going to be going on a trip to some far away land, he'd given the other no choice but to bring him along.

Besides, Xun was still caught in mortal form and a god to guide his steps and protect him would give the other an advantage.

So it was that when they arrived, Glyph stretched and stood tall, peering over Xun's head at the landscape stretching out before them. The river wound its way down a valley, the sides carved into sheer cliffs from long-gone glaciers. Where they stood near the head of the valley, the ground sloped up and grassland gave way to a dense, lush forest thick with life. "We'll travel faster once we hit the treeline," he gestured at it, already trying to connect with it on a basic level and feel out the character of the area.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.It was a good thing that Ti Lung could not read thoughts, because the last thing he thought he needed was a babysitter. This was a road they had both well-traveled, and how the butting of heads ended seemed to sorely depend on the Dragon King's mood. At times he would be peeved but take it relatively well. At others, well, he turned into a spitfire that would have put Illisia to shame.

"True." The water did not feel any different to him, but it was likely diluted - too far from the source. Once they got closer, perhaps it would all feel more familiar. "Lead the way, then ?" Any other way would lead them to being hopelessly lost, really. Glyph would know where to go soon enough, if he did not already.

User Image Glyph nodded as he stepped forward, feet making strange prints in the soft earth along the side of the river. It had recently flooded and the ground was still marshy from the excess water. He wondered what the cause was... the mountains seemed relatively bare of snow but perhaps it had been the melt?

"What are we looking for?" He knew what a wellspring was like but this one was supposedly old, and therefore likely different. "Can you sense it?"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Aysu told me it was in the mountains..." The aoide had not been able to remember much. It seemed like whatever meant they had to preserve themselves took their own toll on them, much like their masters' death had. Or perhaps the gods' fading was the cause ? He could feel some ancient power sleeping within Aysu and Lindita, a power that was his, but at the same time not so.

"And it was one of the first wellsprings he knew of.... So it is probably big." That was not exactly the most precise information, but that was what he had. He was used to stumble blindly by now. "I figure if we follow the flow of the water by the time we hit the mountains, we will find it. This river flows from it. The energy is faint, diluted, but it's there."

User Image "Well, we're in the mountains..." Glyph laughed as he glanced around, "A large spring feeding a river prone to flooding..." He dug his root-toes into the soil to demonstrate, delighting in the feel of the mud.

"I agree, let's follow the river."

The hike up the valley was relatively easy though Glyph had grown anxious to get into the woods. He felt power thrumming through and thought it might be Xun's wellspring but something about it felt familiar too, calling him.

"Do you feel that too? A calling?'" When they finally crossed the border of the forest, Glyph inhaled deeply and seemed to stretch out, his mana flowing into the area as if he'd come home. "This is an old forest..."

The river arced off to the left but his calling was to the right and he stood staring in that direction for several heartbeats.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."So it seems !" That was not something his aoide had told him about, but Aysu's recollection had been shaky. Nothing wrong with some water for the trees every now and then, though. The mud did not bother him either - it felt nice and cool against his feet, which had been aching a bit lately.

Ti Lung was content to simply take in the beauty of their surrounding, until his lover stopped. A calling ? One ear would perk on reflex, listening. "I do not hear anything." He felt the wellspring, yes, but little else. "Maybe we should go check it out ?" It was not like the wellspring would vanish in the time it would take to get to the bottom of what Glyph was feeling.

User Image Glyph cast his gaze at Xun, frowning a bit - was it a sound only he could hear? The god bit his lower lip as curiosity gnawed at his purpose, they were to search out Xun's wellspring and yet...

Xun's suggestion was all that was needed and Glyph nodded shortly, his steps quickening. The forest around them swayed and shifted, seeming to part around them. Giant, ancient trunks bent and warped at bizarre angles as they yielded to the lord of the wood. Glyph's hand had reached out for Xun even as he searched and he paused after a while, frowning.

He couldn't get lost in the woods but Xun could... and whatever was already lost wasn't easily tracked. Glyph grumbled, pushing against the boundaries of his senses. Strong as he was, he was as of yet limited.

"I feel it but cannot find it..." He puffed his cheeks out. "It's somewhere around here... split up? Stay within calling range, if I can hear you I can ease your passage too."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Well, Glyph had not needed much in the way of encouragement. It amused him, though he was able to keep himself from giggling. He would follow the path that Forest created for them, very well aware that he had to keep up with Glyph as much as he possibly could - or else he would wind up quite lost indeed.

Sadly, there was little he could do to help - he still did not hear anything at all. Whatever was calling seemed to be calling only for his lover. "Alright... Do you have any idea what you are looking for ?" Ti Lung pondered this for a moment. "What does it sound like ?"
PostPosted: Thu Jan 17, 2013 12:46 pm

User Image "I... don't." Glyph responded with a shrug, "And it's not a sound so much as a feeling." He frowned as he sighed, "It feels like something old, something... mine, like I should be there. I just have no idea what it is, I can't remember anything."

He'd not been to this place in this life and their surroundings held no clues that he could discern. "Something old perhaps...?"

A light out of the corner of his eye drew his attention then as a spectral stag with many points to its antlers wandered by, stopping to stare at the pair of gods before dispersing into mist that seemed to draw back into the woods.

"... that?" Glyph offered, unsure.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Hm. Like how I can feel the wellsprings ?" He had noticed that he could do exactly that, a few weeks ago. Ti Lung figured that it might come in handy in the future. "Then it is probably something that concerns you... Something you made, perhaps ?" He might not remember doing such a thing, but it would still be there.

That was a very valid explanation until the stag happened, and Xun Jiang found himself blinking at it as it seemed to disperse into the mist. "....Or like that, yes."
