He had not expecially wanted his mother to see him like this, but it looked like such could not be avoided. Word to mouth would betray his return quickly enough, and he was, indeed, missing his mother's gentle presence.
As long as he was not asked to explain... Oh, he really hoped he would not have to explain. Lament did not think he was ready to do such a thing.
The door to Music's quarters opened, and a familiar, veiled head looked inside. "Mother ?" Uh. It looked like Echo was not home. Akakios would come in and close the door behind himself, then - figuring he might as well wait. He was home, yes, but the bandages on his hands made it obvious he was not unscattered.
The wounds ran deeper than that, but at least only those were apparent.

The past few days had been.... different for the andalite. Sounds seemed to be so much more important now, gathering around her - or, rather, her noticing them so much more - and every little sound was some how beautiful, The screech of metal on stone, the unique sound of termites working in wood, the burble of running water, the individual tones and music of everyone's voices... they all seemed to leap out to Exalla now and her only explanation was the gem in her chest.
Her experience had taught that whatever was in the gem was weak... exceedingly so. I could not speak in any language or understandable method but it was there, gather sounds like andalites gathered knowledge. It hoarded them, sorting them, filling her head with noise so wonderful and so terrifying and so irritating it had left her with migraines a few times.
So, having recovered from the latest bout of sensory overload, Exalla heard the click of the door and the tiny echoes of sound followed by a new yet familiar voice. Feeling the being in the gem stir at the timbre, collecting the sound like threads to spin a tapestry from, the andalite stepped out into Kios' line of sight, the gem in her chest glinting in the light. <>

The mental voice was slightly surprising, as he had grown unused to hear it. "Exalla." He would smile - the expression barely visible - though he would pause. Something was...
Something was off about her. He blinked, but his eyes would focus on the gem easily enough, since there was no clothing to hide it. Oh.
First Asedri... And now Exalla ? He bit back the urge to sigh. This really was so much to deal with, all at once. "With arrows, perhaps."

<> She chided, stepping forward to close the distance and toyed with the gem in her chest almost self conciously as she noticed him taking note.
<> She replied with all the cool, calculated bluntness of a scientist obseriving an experiment. <>

Sound. Well, possibly, from the sound of it. "You do not know yet ?" Had the god not talked to her yet ? He was not sure he liked her tone of voice - did she not realize she would... cease to exist completely ?
"I was." Part of him hoped he would not need to elaborate too much. He was not sure if he was ready to. On that aspect, offence was the best defense. "How have you been ?" He asked her. Well, beside the obvious - the obvious being the chunk of crystal stuck in her chest.

"That is curious." He would admit. There was little in the mean of true answer or guidance he could give Exalla - this was not a process he had lived, and not one he would know of anymore than a uninvolved mortal would, ultimately. "My parents never talked about the whole thing much." Though he had never really asked, either. "But I know mom mentioned she talked to her mortal early on ?"
Echo would answer Exalla better, really.
"You can always go in the gardens. I will come run with you if you'd like ?" He had gotten faster - to the point he thought that he might be able to keep up with her now. "I went to another world, to help a few friends. It was..." He paused. "Long and complicated." To say the least. This had been the first time he had even left this place.

Exalla nodded, <>
Her fingers played over the gem thoughtfully before she moved past Kios, having apparently decided a run would be beneficial, <> Both stalk eyes turned to regard Akakios with a kind gaze, <>

She did not understand, did she ? Whatever deity slept within that gem would take her body, eventually. As to how or when, he had no idea. It seemed different for every god and every host. Some kept some part of their hosts alive, like his mother or Mystery had. Others did not.
"You do understand what being a host means, right ?" He would ask outright. What other ways to know for sure than to ask, after all ?
"Seerow ?" The term was unfamiliar for him, though he turned to come out of the door, expecting Exalla to follow. He would pause near the stairs, expecting that the andalite might need help walking down them. "What does that mean ?"
