Khurshid was perched on a ledge on the side of a bluff, watching the sun rise in the east. The new-born light shone on the feathers of her outstretched wings, throwing out little shimmers of bright gold. The night had been cool and dark, and though the day did not look to be any warmer than the night had been, seeing the light of the sun in the sky already made the lyra mare's heart soar. The world was beautiful, it was young, it was born anew with the new day. She felt like singing with joy, but found she could not decide on what song to sing. What's more, she wanted to sing in duet with someone, but there was no one to sing with. There hadn't been someone to sing with for a long time.
Not that that made her unduly unhappy. It was morning, and a beautiful morning at that, and so she opened her mouth and began to softly sing a song she'd learned a long time ago.((Sorry for the short post xP ))

As the sun made it's first rays over the distance and onto their world Uriel found his eyes easily open. Raising his head he smoothly got to his hoofs and stood to watch the beautiful act of nature just as he did every day. The stallion feared no attack and as such had settled where he had felt the tug of fatigue in an open field, the lush green grass remaining still almost out of respect for the moment. The moment was perfect, or he had thought so till he heard the distant sound that brought the deepest joys to his chest, the sound of singing.
For a moment he chose to just enjoy this, the feelings that swirled around him and made him feel blessed just as any Angel should. It wasn't until the sun had illuminated all he could see, touching and brightening with it's caress that he began to pad towards the voice. Such a beautiful song, it had joined him in his greeting of the day and now his curiosity would not rest till he had greeted the owner. At his happy trot it didn't take for the voice to become louder as he got closer and he felt it only right to sing too, he had no desire to sneak up. As if the words flowed from within his voice sang out with the help of his lungs: "Sun is shining, The weather is sweet, Makes you wanna move. Here I am I want you to know Here I stand As the morning gathers A rainbow I want you to know that I'm a rainbow with you."

From the grasslands below her vantage point, Khurshid heard the voice of another star. The song of the other star was unfamiliar to her, but who was she to insist on her own song over another's? She switched to a different song then, one that could be sung in harmony with the other star's. When both their songs had finished, she leaped off of the bluff and flew to the other.
Khurshid had met lyra before--not many, but a few. But it had been a long time--she couldn't remember when, in fact--since she'd met a lyra that made her want to call him or her an angel. There was just something indescribable about him. He had a bearing, an elegance, something about him that told her that he was...well, that he was like her, in a way. "Good morning," she murmured. "You have a lovely singing voice."

With lungs expanding as he sang in duet with the other he continued his way to her stopping in sync with her landing. Uriels smile would be first to greet her and as they both let their songs come to an end he felt on top of the world and ready to enjoy another day. "Greetings! I must thank you for your beauty and song that has given me the most perfect of mornings." Bowing his front half he lowered his wings to show respect to the other he took note than though they seemed opposites on the outside he had a feeling they where very similar in all other manners.
"May I ask, do you brighten every morning with your divine voice?" he'd altered his pose up from the bow now and stood calmly, poised yet relaxed.

The strange angel was, well, he was very flattering. Khurshid was not the sort to blush--instead, she responded in like kind. "Your voice, too, is full of grace," she murmured. She fluttered her wings and bowed her head low in respect to the kindred spirit. "It is a blessing to meet another who fills the morning with joyous song. I am called Khurshid, and I do try to greet the sun each day with music. Do you as well?" Singing. That was something else she didn't hear often enough, not near often enough. And she had been traveling for a long time looking for someone to sing duet with. "And might I ask your name, as well? It is surely providence that we met today."

Uriel let a breath of delight escape as he felt the tug of a smile that could not possibly brighten any more than it already had. Though they had stopped signing her voice made his soul dance and praise the gods that be for their meeting this morning. Reminding himself he still shared her presence he directed his thoughts to the immediate situation and found himself bowing for the compliment and mentally affirming his need to keep his mind in the now. "Deepest of thanks M'lady, and forgive my slight in not introducing myself. I am Uriel, such a pleasure to meet and bask in the glory of your company Khurshid." Again he bowed, he was known to many for all sorts of reasons but having a lack of manners was not one.
"Until today I must be in honest in admitting I had not, but to feel such elation every morning, more so than even the radiant show of natures sunrise..." He stopped to let out a sign of joy before carrying on in a gentle yet confidently firm tone "I should very much like to do so, I fear without the harmony of another it may pale slightly." He made sure his gaze was on her, she was all his positive feelings personified into a form and he would not possibly wish to be anywhere else.

"Methinks we are well-met, Uriel." Khurshid bowed her head in greeting to her fellow lyra, her dark mane sliding down her neck and back again when she lifted her head. "No glory can be as great as meeting another who shares the joy of song and morning." Her wings fluttered in amusement. "Even if you do not indulge that joy every day. Nonetheless, I could hear it in your voice." She rather liked this Uriel already--and yes, that was mostly because he was a fellow singer. Khurshid liked singing--she didn't meet nearly enough stars who sang for the sake of singing. Sure, there were those who sang while they worked, but precious few who sang just to feel the vibration in their throat and the music in their ears. It filled the world with light--why didn't more people do it?
"I should be overjoyed to lend to your voice a harmony that brings out its full color." She smiled again. "Uriel, shall we sing once again, to show the sunlight how much we enjoy it?"

As she spoke he found himself nodding smoothly in agreement, it must be a sign for them to meet, someone had intended it to be this way and he was not one to fight such things. Then the proposal to sing again in duet from the beginning together warmed him further, her voice was like the sun that shone down upon the growing plant matter of this world, and he on the receiving end basking in it's nutrition that fed his soul. Uriel knew he wanted to be in her company for as long as she would permit to enjoy these moments, so precious just in case they were to end and he'd be left with the memories. Still those would be memories to brighten even the darkness days.
"I concur whole heartily, Khurshid and it would be the highest of honours to sing in duet again, this time I insist you lead." he let a little chuckle escape as he peered up at the sun, not missing her smile out of the corner of his eye. "Such pleasure I would gladly take in learning from you anything you will allow me to know whilst of course thanking the delicate balance of nature that persist through these cold times, and our wonderful sun." It was his turn to smile, not that he'd actually stopped but upon finishing speaking he was filled with anticipation, he learnt many things from many people but this time he knew without a doubt the knowledge would only further delight his being.

Khurshid smiled at Uriel and straightened her neck to hold her head high. Her wings stretched, once, then settled again at her side. Uriel was a charmer, and it flattered her to think that he might be being honest. The idea that he might be stringing her along was preposterous--it did not even occur to her at all. "If your first song was any indication, Uriel, I should think you already a master at the art of music, and that I would have nothing more to teach you of harmony. Though if I can, indeed, provide such exalted service, you have only to ask, and I will do all that is within my power to do. For I will teach anyone who will listen and sing."[x~Ripple~x] Anywhere specific in mind you'd like this RP to go?
