Hello everyone, I study anthropology and I am curious at what age each of you started feeling an attraction for the same sex, or both, or to be a gender besides your physical body?
for those who are heterosexual with an accepted gender, please respond with what age you realized that homosexuality existed.
ps. I appreciate every response, please let me know!! xd

I had an Anthropology last semester and this subject is very interesting. I believe I started having gay thoughts when I was about 13. I started the M word if you know what I mean, and I used gay porn sometimes. I wouldn't actually admit to myself that I was bi until 2 years later though, and here I am today still in the closet at 19 :/

Mary Janes Brother I had an Anthropology last semester and this subject is very interesting. I believe I started having gay thoughts when I was about 13. I started the M word if you know what I mean, and I used gay porn sometimes. I wouldn't actually admit to myself that I was bi until 2 years later though, and here I am today still in the closet at 19 :/ thanks! I find that most people tell me the age of 10 or 12, which is different for me. I felt an attraction for men as early as 5, but I am trying to understand why the age differs for each person and why does it occur at that moment... Your information helps a lot, thanks again!!! biggrin

I had always knew I was different from others when I was little, but it was when I was 10 years old when I realized that what was different about me was me being gay.

About 13 or 14. Leaning towards 14. Didn't realize what 'gay' really meant until 13 though.

5 years old. I had a crush on the girl next door and I cried every time she had to go home because I liked her so much. And I also knew that my mom would be mad if I told her that, so I never did. I knew I had to hide it. I also had the feeling it was never going to change. And it never did.

oh gee uh, I think I was around 13 when I first had gay thoughts. But I always slapped myself in the face whenever I did as everyone around me always associated being gay as a bad thing. (not my parents though, while recently they have made it clear they are accepting of gays, they never really mentioned them when I was younger. Nor did they tell me there was something wrong with them.)
After I discovered that, it was perfectly normal to be like this, and not everyone see's it as a stigma I fully embraced it.
Which rocks.

Probably around 13? Basically in junior high. All the girls I talked to starting being interested in guys and talking about sex and I was just totally confused as to why anyone would want to date a guy, let alone have sex with him, because girls were so much better. Which eventually changed. So uh, at 13 I figured out I was not straight and in my late teens I figured out I was pansexual and genderfluid. I think it was mostly an issue of always having felt that way but never knowing what name to put to it.
