Plains, as far as the eye can see. Flat, lush land with greenery covering every inch of earth. It's Spring, and the weather couldn't be nicer.

Locura Oculta
Cuatro Espada

Science has made us gods.

"Tch."

Locura padded through the soft fields of grass, taking in deep breaths of the nurturing earth as it budded and bloomed. It was disgusting. The pale scientist made sure to avoid staining his white outfit on the grass underfoot as he walked. He had no idea why he was here, really. Something about getting out of the lab because someone thought it was unhealthy that he spent every waking and sleeping hour inside of his. He failed to see the reasoning behind it, but it was more of an order than a suggestion. And so he came here, and being so incredibly bored began to take its toll. Past the pondering of the effectiveness of weeds, he had absolutely nothing to think about here.

And so his mind began to wander. As it should never do. He groaned to himself, and rubbed at his one good eye. He desperately needed to return. To take his mind off of it. Off of everything. Locura wasn't a man to sit and ponder such things, and with the inability to do anything but he was doing everything in his power to avoid it. He ran a hand through his hair, and looked out over the vastness of green.

"So pointless."

Kate sat with her legs crossed on a black and white checkerboard blanket in the field. She had found this place some time ago, and was having her evening tea party as usual with a few of her stuffed friends. She became aware of a spiritual pressure approaching, she pretended to pour tea into a small tea cup and held it out on a dish toward the man. "Would you like to join us for some tea?" Kate asked turning her head slightly so she could see him out of the corner of her eye.

With a pause, the Espada stopped walking. He turned his head to look across the grass, spying a Shinigami sitting there. Of course his supposed vacation would have to be interrupted by such a thing. He turned his body to face the small Soul Reaper, and placed his hands in his pockets. He let out a long sigh, and slowly blinked his solitary eye. In silence he watched her, and began to inspect her. He looked at her thermal readout, nothing out of the ordinary which ruled out elemental abilities. He reishi output wasn't abnormal. And he saw the girl's zanpakuto through her clothes. Her skeletal structure belied a rough age of a teenager. Anywhere from twelve to fifteen years old in appearance. He switched it back to reishi, and took care to watch the levels for any increases, lest she suddenly go on the offensive.

"No." He replied suddenly. "Your mere presence offends me." He blinked again, and took to watching her with a half-lidded gaze. "Leave me in peace."

Kate stood fixing her pants back into their perfectly pressed form. "You guys really must learn some manners." She said before vanishing and appearing on the other side of the man from before her zanpakuto in her hand but not yet released.

The mad scientist watched as the girl stood up, watching her energy levels with the intensity of a hawk. It didn't show on his face, the rapt attention that he was showing. He looked bored, as a matter of fact. When she spoke, he realized how little he cared for decorum. The only manners that mattered were those of rank, law, and the association thereof. Being nice didn't mean anything to any of those concepts. And she held no rank that he deemed worthy of respect, so she would get none from him. Not even if she tied him to a wall and flayed his skin.

He saw the sudden flux of energy in her feet long before she even committed the 'Flash Step'. Others aren't able to note such things, but Locura wasn't just another somebody. He was Locura Oculta. Judge, Jury, and Executioner. The Mad Man of Hueco Mundo. Wielder of devastating science and even more deadly secrets. The likes of which would cause anyone to go insane. But when you're already mad, you can't go any lower. So he watched her accomplish the Flash Step, and he quickly turned on his heel. Shinigami were such creatures of habit it bordered on pathetic. She appeared behind him, a short distance away.

"Oh?" Locura cocked an eyebrow at her. It was a single word, but his manner dictated the true meaning behind it. It was a question. Really? We're really doing this right now? He brushed aside his jacket, revealing a beautifully carved rapier. He drew it and held it in front of him loosely, the tip pointing at the ground. "Let me guess. 'You will have to teach them to me' or some similar drivel? If you begin this course of action, you will be sorely disappointed in the results."

Kate smirked creepily. "nope, just wanted to play. Come play Kijo-chan." Kate said promoting red thread to wrap around her zanpakuto and fall away revealing a slender sewing needle with a doll hanging from the eye. " Teaching someone who won't live long enough to apply the lesson would be meaningless" She said as six threads with needles on the end fell out of the dolls stomach. Kate twisted the blade prompting the threads to spring to life and fly forward toward the man. She aimed a thread at his head his right arm his left leg and his torso another thread flew to his right and his left about hip level. If the thread hit the man would feel no effect at first the needles wouldn't even do much more then graze him on contact. Kijo was a very clean zanpakuto didn't make much of a mess one of Kate's favorite aspects of it since it didn't get her dirty.

Straight to release. Her unreleased capabilities must be minimal, so she relies on some ability of hers in Shikai in order to debilitate and kill her foes. Hmm. I won't dally. As the needles shot out towards him, he took the rapier and slid it into his mouth. "Shine, Sombra." He became immolated in a dark fire, like the very darkness itself had caught light. His clothes seared off, and his skin sizzled away, leaving nothing but writhing wires in its wake. His mask grew to cover his entire face, covering both of his eyes in thick, emotionless goggles, and his mouth was covered by a bone-white mask, with large tubes leading to his back. His arm splayed out in front of him, and his hand disassembled. The wires reached out and spread into a circle, and the needles screeched against it with the harsh sound of metal on metal before they fell away. Poison, perhaps. Something to do with the needles themselves. She's not attacking with the main one. The soft breathing hissed through the grill of his mask, and he chuckled. "Little girl, you play with things you do not understand." His voice was cold and metallic, echoing into the empty space between them.

"Begone." From the center of the shield charged a white light, which after a second fired a thin, inch-wide beam of compressed energy. It was aimed to pierce her right in the heart.

Kate smiled slightly as the man blocked with his hand upon releasing his more powerful form. Kate easily flash stepped out of the way but instead of coming out of flash step she continued to flash step around the man quickly leaving multiple after images in her wake. Suddenly without warning the threads came to life again aiming for the man torso head and legs this time. Just moments before it would come within reach of the man Kate flash stepped directly above the man causing the needles that were closing in on him to end up coming straight down on his head and shoulders. " I understand far more then you could fathom, judging by your bland method of speech and 'haha you stupid' type of speech. I'm going to assume your the arrancar that calls itself a scientist" Kate said again not using Kijo's effect yet, her target was smart she wanted to have multiple points of control before revealing her trump card.

I assume I'm going to have to be a fair bit more brutish than I would prefer. Locura sighed internally as the little girl insisted on being about as rational as her size belied. The weaving tendrils that made up his body now reconstituted his arm once more into humanoid shape, in the same amount of time that it took Kate to start stepping around him in a blatant show of capability. He watched her comings and goings with the spiritual senses he was capable of, noting all of her energy that was placed directly upon her feet, with none placed in areas of aggresion; unless of course she wanted to kick him, but that idea would in and of itself be stupid and its risk of damage would be minimal at best. A sudden flash of re-dispersed energy let the scientist know that she was going to be going on the offensive, and he prepared himself; his right arm turned into a flattened blade, complete with sharp edges.

He was ready to use his knowledge, as much as it may be, of sword play to return the favor. But there was a sudden redispersment of her energy once again, in her feet. She wasn't going to stay there for the remainder of the attack. How damn bothersome. Locura shot himself forward, looking to fill the gap that she had created with the crackling roar of a sonido. He stood where she had not half a second before, and he was facing where she was attacking from overhead. He jumped upwards at her, from the side where her needles could not yet reach, and slashed out with his long, bladed limb across her stomach, horizontally.

"You guessed wrong." He breathed, his voice a mere echo of humanity. There was no warmth to his voice as it sifted through the mechanical grate that covered his mouth. No life to it outside of the perceived malice that he used to emphasize certain parts of his speech. Perhaps it was the way that Locura extended the end of that sentence that made it seem so chiding, so contemptible. Maybe it was the fact that he was more interested in her abilities than actually fighting her. And maybe it was the fact that he wasn't using the full extent of his abilities in order to fight the shinigami.

Maybe it was all of these things.

Even before we are worthy of being men.

Kate grinned as the man leapt at her preparing to swing. Kate tried to cause the arm she had struck earlier to grab his sword arm and prevent his swing as it did Kate jumped back out of the reach of his swing. The needles the man had dodge separated and flew up behind him trying to take advantage of the slight opening the surprise would leave. Kate however was no fool she prepared to flash step in case it didn't work. This guy is going to be annoying, I hate annoying she thought preparing for the unexpected.

The blade stopped. Locura looked down at his left arm, the impassive face of steel and glass making the motion seem slow and lifeless. His eyes followed the faint trail of reishi particles from his arm to Kate. If he had been able to, he would have smiled. She had been a good girl to not play her cards on the first swing, but he knew a lot more of her now than she did of him. Basic reishi manipulation, subverting original control by overwhelming the area with their own reiatsu. He hadn't seen a power like this in a very long time. He often wondered if he could dissect the power, make it reusable. Privatize it. The girl would make a fine specimen to his collection.

"Good." He chuckled, the hissing noise of his respirator making it seem nightmarish, even above its already dreadful intent. "Looks like I may have some use for you after all." He jumped upwards, climbing higher than her, his left arm still firmly clamped on his right. "I have something to show you."

He disappeared in a blast of light, radiating outwards with a small amount of force. Not enough to force anyone back if they're prepared for it, but enough to brush clothing aside, fabric, even little needles. From the light came a beautiful woman, with flowing red hair and a perfect figure. She wasn't very well protected, but she was a sight to behold.

She leaped backwards again, over her own volition, soaring impossibly high over the needles as they flew harmlessly out of reach. She landed behind them, and as she stood in the air she flicked her wrists out, extending vicious looking blades from the sides. She giggled playfully and rolled her head, flicking her hair out. "You're going to be so much fun." She then started running through the air, taking care not to dash into a sonido on the way. This girl, whoever she was, was light on her feet and fast. Dangerously so, almost.
