Renting a computer since the event with Lex had cost Dakota more then he would've liked. He was lucky that Clerise adored him and had some claim over the techs but getting in a brawl with the life hunter had cost a lot of rep damage.

But he had heard of missions that required expoloration of certain...tombs and such of gods. Dakota was by no means a super adventurer but...items of the gods.

He could use those. As he typed on the computer, he pulled images of the altar of gods up and studied the layouts. Some hunters had even been successful in retrieving items.

"Looking to go exploring Handsome?~" A voice leaned over his shoulder, matched with violet eyes and long brunette hair. It startled him at first as he looked at her, and then smiled.

"Considering the prizes to reap from it, I would think it very beneficial." he turned in his chair to get a better view at the new female and apperciated what he saw. That and her jacket was emblazened with the division he most often found beautiful women from. "Well aren't you a gorgeous little thing. mist? If your not busy babe, we could make this a date to the gods."

"I've already been there handsome, and a date none the less." Nevada gave the moon hunter a amused look, her last visit had reaped her some laurels and a bond with the life hunter Lex, "I'm Nevada...and if your looking for someone to go, I wouldn't mind tagging along again." She tapped the screen, "I could probably lead you around. I'd recommened another hunter though." She eased in a chair next to him, studying his profile. He was by far a handsome hunter, with dark skin and flirty eyes.

Dakota shrugged and just winked at her. "There's always OTHER places to go on dates. But if your free and looking for something to do, I always apperciate the company of a fine woman." He hesitated of thinking who to take. Wilson was a no go since the hunter was out cold in the infirmary...Dakota had made sure to visit his brother at least once a day and drop some valuable items off. Like Porno's tucked under Wilson's arm.

But maybe it would be nice to take a brother on the mission. Ryan instantly popped in his head. "Well Nevada, Name's Dakota Rainstar. Lady slayer." He joked as he pulled his phone out. "And I think I got the perfect guy to come with us."

Text to Ryan: How about breaking you in from recovering your weapon brother? Want to go on a mission with me and this hot chick I just met?
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2013 2:54 pm

Ryan had been trying to readjust to Locke's presence again, but the carbuncle had moping ever since he got him back. Something about forgetting important events, while constantly calling him an idiot. It was because of that, that he had avoided talking to him and continued to avoid talking to him even now. He hadn't a clue what he was on about, so instead he settled for going about his room, putting what few belongings he had back in place. Or it was what he planned on doing until his phone went off.

Now normally, Ryan was nervous when it began buzzing. It usually meant bad things were about to happen. That or friends wanted something. Sometimes even both.

This time it was a friend.

Ryan examined the text message carefully, before sending one back.

Nyxtsuki Moon
Text to Dakota: You mean so you can flirt with each other the entire time?

He knew your plan, Dakota. He didn't want to be the third wheel on your date.

That in mind, he was about to send a message stating as much, but opted not to. A mission to occupy his mind was better than sitting around and dealing with a mopey Locke. Even if meant dealing with two love birds.

Nyxtsuki Moon
Text to Dakota: Where do we meet up?

Dakota just smiled as the text message pinged.

As he was typing a reply that was sure to chastise the other hunter, he got another asking where to meet up.

"Well Nevada, looks like we'll be starting this trip with a good friend of mine." Dakota got up and held his hand out to the young lady. "Don't want to keep our friend waiting right?"

Oniongrump
Text to Ryan: At the portals, We'll move from there.

Nevada shrugged, taking his hand and sliding it on his arm. Quite at ease. It was a little unnerving though to see how tall he was, craning her neck a little. What she wouldn't do to have Otto here instead, that way she could at least see eye level. Or Roland for that matter. Dakota seemed to be like Lex, tall a** men.

She needed to wear bigger heels.

"Oh a friend?~" She seemed to be delighted at the prospect of meeting someone new, and look...instead she was meeting TWO new people.

"Yeah a good bro like mine. We're both moon and I can count on him to have my back." Dakota looked down at the female. "So when did you get to the Island babe?" All the questions.

It wasn't a far walk to the portals though where he texted Ryan again.

Text to Ryan: Dude you here yet!?!?
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2013 3:19 pm

Ah right, portals would be the best place to meet up, since they would all be heading there eventually anyways. Unless of course, the mission was within the island. Fortunately, by the time he had received the text he had been ready to go and was already out the door and on his way. He wasn't that far from the portals either. So when the last text arrive, he gave a growl.

Oh Dakota. Quit being impatient to go on your date!

Annoyed, he nearly typed a reply and in fact, had it half written when he decided to forgo the text message bickering and deliver the message personally.

Which he did.

"Yes. You don't need to hound me for being a few minutes late."

"Of course I do!" Dakota waved as the moon hunter joined them, holding his hand out to the brunette, "And this beautiful lady is-"

"Nevada, handsome. A pleasure to meet you." She offered him a lazy smile, "I find it comforting to be able to go on a trip with two moonmen. Defense abound." She blinked, "Ah I should've mentioned I'm mist and I've been to the place we're going too so..." She nodded and then looked back to Dakota, opting him to be the team leader.

"Well yeah right. So uh." Dakota rubbed his hand over his neck sheepishly. "You ready to go Ryan? Or do you want to run and grab anything like barrier daggers or whatever?" Dakota had bandages but that was about it.

Nevada on the other hand had brought her laurels just in case, the small flower hairpin matched where Leroy rested as well.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 10, 2013 10:59 pm

Ryan gave Dakota a look that clearly said 'no you don't' before he nodded at Nevada. "Nice to meet you. Though I'm not really that well trained yet." He was slowly getting there. But he had a long way ahead of him if he wanted to catch up to both Dakota and Wilson.

"Where is it we are going?" Now that they called him out, some details would be nice. Like destination and what the plan was. "I can't exactly prepare without knowing what it is we are walking into." Though normally he was fine with what he had and thanks to Locke, could provide heals, through the use of a charge.

Dakota had opted to talking to the portal guys which left Nevada the one to explain.

"From what your friend says, we're going to the Altar of Gods. It's been something hunters have been taking as far as missions to return back with these artifact items..." She pulled her floral hairpin out and watched as it grew into a tendril of wheat and flower like laurel. "Some of the items really enchance the benefits that come from FEAR."

"At a price of course. The altar is one of the toughest of the FEAR infested labyrinths I've been too. Full of hidden traps and such." She hesitated, "It's best that we take runic daggers but well..." She shrugged as Dakota returned.

"Okay, all set to go. Portals up and we're setting basecamp in the woods." He winked at Nevada who just chuckled and rolled her eyes.

"Ladies first?" Dakota outspread his hands for Nevada and nodded to Ryan, watching the girl disappear into the portal first. "Pretty fine isn't she?"
PostPosted: Thu Jan 10, 2013 11:40 pm

"Altar of gods?" He repeated, but didn't say anything further. Waiting instead for her to finished explaining the mission to him. "So basically---its a suicide run?" It was half sarcasm and half serious. But if they were going, in spite of knowing the risk, then these artifacts must be something special.

Ryan waited until Dakota's return, nodding when he announced it was time to go. Though he gave him another look when made the comment about Nevada. "That's what you say about every girl you meet, you flirt." Though he had to admit, like a lot of the girls in Deus, Nevada was also quite attractive.

Quote:
Altar of the Old Gods:

Requirements: You will need to PRP "researching" up this area (again a prp with your characters just discovering this information in a book is fine), before heading off on this quest. One person will need to be the dungeon master of this quest line: you can have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 characters in this quest. Due to not taking forever, the "Dungeon Master" has control of the pacing: even if not everyone replies, it is okay to go the next round as long as it makes sense from the Dungeon Master's POV.

Historical IC background: The Altar of the old Gods, also known as the Parthenon in history was once where mortals went to worship the Old Gods, also known as the time before Halloween was fully created. The Old Gods left many items after they vanished, including hundreds of artifacts. Most of these they blessed to mortals, but several of them they kept hidden.

The Altar of the Old Gods is now abandoned: only the hardiest dare take the trek. It is located in a niche between the Human World and Halloween, portals randomly spawn to the area but they are very much by chance. The highest chance of portals spawning to that exact location is by parking yourself in the Weeping Forest.

gaia_crown [ Getting Started: ]

Getting into the Altar of the Old Gods:
- You need to camp out in the Weeping Forest after reading the information. Hunters can enter Halloween as well without a golem (recommended as the Altar itself is very golem unfriendly due to its climate and high altitude as well as natural enemies), for a max of 30 minutes. Each roll takes 5 IC minutes - students can pretty much park here as long as they need as well as horsemen while Hunters will need to exit and enter back again.
- Basically, all Hunter characters have 6 chances to find the portal. If they don't find it, they will need to leave and come back. Students and Horsemen do not need to ICly leave and come back.
- All players roll 1d100.
- Rolling 50 or less will let players find a portal that randomly leads to someone's house. Feel free to RP this as you please as awkwardly as you please
- Rolling 70 or less will let players find a portal that leads to the Land of Holidays. Right now is really not the time for Xmas cheer...and the creatures there seem extremely hostile
- Rolling 80 or less will lead you to the Haunted House.
- Rolling 81 or higher will let you find the portal! Success! You can now proceed inside.

gaia_crown [ Setting and Rules: ]

The altar itself is on top of an extremely, extremely high mountain that needs to be scaled. This is where the Dungeon Master comes to play. The Dungeon Master will create a new thread. Now, they will roll stats for this expedition team:
- Roll 2 20-sided dice for each player. List the players ie: 1. Player 1, 2: player 2, etc. Just roll all the dice at once. This is the number of rounds they can take for each player. Also include your own character. Post this stat at the very first post ie: Player 1 has 5 stamina, player 2 has 10 etc.
- Now players can begin to RP. They start at the base of the mountain and must move upwards. Each ACTION they take is 1 stamina point. Once they have used up all allotted stamina points they can go no further/ have to leave the area.
- If their HP turns to 0 they cannot go any further as well.
- If a character runs out of stamina or HP, they must try again from Round 1!

gaia_crown [ Round 1: ]

- All players must roll a 6 sided dice. If any player rolls a 1 or 6, you have triggered a boss! The DM will be in charge of rping and keeping track of the boss's HP. The boss has 50/ 50 HP and does 5 auto damage every time it is attacked. You can attack it unlimited times within discretion. Attacks go as normal. The boss is shadow shaped, a remnant of the old world, noone can go any further until the boss is defeated. IF NOONE rolls a 1 or 6, or you have defeated the boss, you may proceed to round 2. If two players roll a 1 or 6, you now have two bosses... congratulations.
- This initial roll does not cost stamina!

gaia_crown [ Round 2: ]

- All players must now scale the hill. Roll 1d100.
- If you roll 85 or higher you have made it to the top! You're kind of amazing you know
- If you did NOT roll 85 or higher you still need to keep on climbing. Keep on climbing... away..... You need to continue rolling until you roll 85 or higher.
- For ever time you do not roll 85 or higher (each reroll), you must subtract one of your given stamina points. If you hit 0, you cannot go any further/ you dissipate/ pass out/ are worn out.
- If you hit 0 HP, you must start again from Round 1!
- If you made it past this round, you can proceed to round 3:

gaia_crown [ Round 3: ]

- You must now make it past the molten lava pits. This area is HIGHLY dangerous, stepping on a single wrong area can spell doom for the whole party.
- All players must roll 1d10. If any player rolls a 4 this is instant death/dissipation/ Fear shields are ZERO and you need to use pendant to retreat back home. Otherwise match your rolls to the results:
1: Instant death (just for you, return to Round 1)
2: Nothing happens
3: - 50% of your remaining HP
4: Instant death (for everyone, game over)
5: Nothing happens
6: Nothing happens
7: - 50% of your remaining HP
8: Nothing happens
9: -25% of your remaining HP
10: Instant death

- All players need to roll 3 times to make it to the next round EACH

gaia_crown [ Round 4: ]

- You finally make your way to the very top of the shrine. You see the statues of the old gods, several of them. However, the area is very unstable. Roll 1d12. This is the item you end up with, congratulations! This is now your item to keep! Match the correct roll of yours to the item, and read the results carefully!
- There is only one of EACH item so if you manage to claim the item in your quest, please come back to THIS THREAD to post the form below to claim that item. Make sure you also pick up its image HERE and read general instructions of use.
- Once again the max you can ever obtain period of these items per character is one status effect and one battle effect item throughout all the class C items.
- These are first come first serve that means if someone else has already posted here claiming that item, you cannot get it! Instead, you can look one number above or below the item and select that item instead. Ie: I roll a 1, but 1 is already claimed. I can look at 2 and claim that instead IF I can.
- New items, will be imported in once this list gets cleared up/ claimed almost all the way up.

1. The Acorn of Zeus: A seed from the tree symbolic to the God Zeus, it glows with a green yellow light, a small thunderbolt like crack running down the side.
Battle Effect: When thrown, the acorn shatters, creating a small paralyzing electric field that nullifies one target at the sacrifice of the user's own turn. Targets must be stated at the time of it’s use, and using the acorn counts as a turn in battle.

2. Hephaestus' Lucky Coin: A battered, worn coin, oozing mystical power despite it's tarnished appearance.
Status Effect : Roll a 6-sided dice. If odd, your face becomes so beautiful, so overwhelmingly beautiful... it sparkles... and hurts to look at because of its sheer beauty. If even it looks like someone mashed your face up with a blender and then mashed up again. It sends small scarelings screaming and crying the other direction (only lasts 1 IC hour, can be used once per 24 OOC hours)

3. Milk of Hera: A small, handheld jug of what smell like fresh milk made from clay carries an odd lettering on it. You can’t help but feel like it’s going to make you better somehow…
Effect: Drinking the milk not only imbibes your with the feeling of superiority, but for those romantically involved, should the object of your affections look at another? You are swept into a jealous rage. Lasts 24 IC hours.

size=7]4. Reins of Poseidon: Simple leather reins that smell a bit like the ocean and have barnacles along the buckles, it drips water endlessly.
Effect: Throwing this on a target causes them turn into a pony version of themselves and become a little more docile. If used on a horseman: they turn into this mount form. This lasts 2 hours for Y1s, 1 hour for horsemen/ Y2, and 30 min for Y3. It does not work on higher than Y3.

[5. Laurels of Demeter: Golden laurels in the shape of wheat and grains seem ordinary at first, but once they rest upon your head, small stalks of grains grow here and their into your hair. Along with a single red poppy.
Battle effect: Upon witnessing an ally being harmed, you feel a need to protect them. Rolling 1d6, this represents how much damage two targets are defended from. Stacks with other defense rolls unless otherwise noted.

6. The Spearhead of Athena: A bronze spearhead, it’s actually rather simple. Smooth minus the few dents on the blade edges, it gives no signs that it’s anything but ordinary bronze spearhead aside from a small owl emblem on the base.
Battle effect: Holding the spears fills you with thoughts of heroism and courage, however unfound. It spurs you to battle, causing an additional +5 damage for ONE turn. Must be stated before rolling attack.

7. The Flame of Hestia: The flame rests in a small clay jar. If put into a new vessel, that is where it will stay. It does not burn flesh or any objects, not even undead.
Effect: The flame acts as water, poured out onto a surface it will illuminate the area. BE AWARE! If the flame falls into a vessel, such as a jar, bucket, anything that can be carried, it will have transferred ‘source’. no battle bonus.

8. Dionysus’s Wine: A small glass vial of deep red aromatic red wine flows endlessly.
Battle Effect: Can be used endlessly. Every time you sip, gives you +1 attack damage. However, your also have lower accuracy making you -1 attack damage. Can also recover 10 HP (can be used once any time per battle).

9. The Arrowhead of Apollo : A bronze arrowhead emblazoned with the sun, it feels warm in your hand. Best to not lose it.

10. The Arrowhead of Artemis: A bronze arrowhead emblazoned with the moon, it feels cool in your hand. Best to not lose it.
Battle effect: Cutting your target with this artifact fills them with a glowing silver light making them glow brightly for one turn. For one turn user is protected for 25% of damage next turn. SPECIAL: For women or virgins, this is upped to 50%. This can only be used once in battle. Cannot be used on Bosses. consumes one turn.

11. The Tusk of Ares: A bleached boar tusk, it is carved with gruesome battle scenes, ever changing. If you watch closely, you might see a famous halloweener… or maybe even a horseman or hunter.
Battle effect: For one turn, the wielder may do +8 additional damage. Hit or miss, they take a -2 to accuracy for next 4 turns. Must be stated at time of roll, can be used in same turn of attack once per battle.

12. The rose of Aphrodite: A rose that changes color in the light, it never wilts and it’s petals, color change included can be removed. They simply regrow as they are removed.
Effect: Placing them rose or petal on a person makes them appear unnaturally beautiful to all who see them, yet the person will not feel attracted to anyone and will feel a need to spurn all advances. Last 24 hours.

13. The Sandals of Hermes: A pair of winged sandals that seem to adjust to any foot, the wings change time to time. Bird to insect, alternating with the wearer.

Dakota nodded. "It's not a suicide run really. I grabbed us pendants in case we need to head back to dues on the fly." And artifacts were special after all.

"So, Every girl I meet is pretty damn attractive." Dakota waggled his eyebrows and stepped through the portal. Their little exchange had left Nevada building the tent and setting up Runic barrier around the little base.

"Welcome Handsomes, to the weeping forest." Nevada outstretched her arms to the woods surrounding them. "We get to look now for the portal to GET to Altar of gods now." She chuckled as she all knowingly set things up.

"Look for portals?" Dakota asked, watching her as he searched the area. "So this isn't like leading right to the Altar of gods?"

"Of course not. Not that simple." Nevada hesistated, "What this place has is portals EVERYWHERE." One to a bachelor party, to someone's house to...other things. "From christmas land to someone's house to halloween too...There's a lot of places we could end up."...."Altar of gods is found by chance." She looked at Ryan now and smiled.

"Got it, So we just go start looking!" Dakota clenched his fist and aimed a smile at Ryan as well. "if I find it..I'll be back to tell you!"

"Wa...Wait-" Nevada held her hand out before frowning, the large moon hunter running off. "Ryan, just so you know, once you make it to the altar...its just you. Please wait for one of us to appear otherwise something might happen." She reached out to rest her hand on his arm and nodded. "Be safe then, and see you soon."

Oniongrump
okay! So now we can start rolling to find the portal and once all three of them find it then I'll start a new thread for them to go through the Altar. That way we can come back to this thread and roll should we die in the other thread

"'Cause that makes it any safer." He gave Dakota an amused look, before taking one of the three pendants for himself and giving the the taller moon a playful shove.

"Wow, its been a while since I've been here." He noted, taking a good look at the forest. "The last time I was here we were in golems and trapping those students." Yes. That damn midget, road kill golem was something he wouldn't forget easily.

Though now that they were here it was time for business. "We only have about thirty minutes search time, am I right?" Given that they were hear without golems and Halloween's atmosphere was not friendly to humans, Ryan wasn't keen on sticking around longer to see what happened. Unfortunately, from what Nevada described, it wasn't going to be an easy task either.

"Right, I'll look around to see if I can find it. See you in about... thirty minutes I guess." He flashed the two a grin and took off in one direction.

Which, five minutes in, he actually found one. Only... it wasn't quite what he was looking for. In fact, somehow, he had managed to walk into someone's house. Right as they were sitting down for dinner.

"Oh.. uhhh... wrong porta--I mean house! Wrong house." The family, too stunned to say anything about the sudden intrusion, stared at him with wide eyes and open mouths. Making Ryan feel more awkward than he already was. "Sorry umm, enjoy your ah.. dinner." And with that he offered them an awkward smile and went back the way he came.

Well that was messed up.

25/30 minutes remaining

"I remember that!" Dakota snickered, he had been like a 8foot vampire at the time, with Ryan's roadkill body all over him. It was hilarious. He also remember most of the hunters working on very large racks on their golems. H's sick jokes.

After he took off though, he started to look for the portal. Which ended him up in Xmas land...where they attacked him with tinsel and glitter and told him he looked like a giant leaf less christmas tree.

Nevada had opted out for taking the oppisite of the weeping forest and looking for portals. This time though she was prepared for them to drop her:

Right in a mess of a small child's room. She cringed as she landed on small toys and then looked into the bright blues of a small little boy.

"Shh!" She covered her mouth with her finger and smiled at the boy, patting him on the head. "Don't tell your mom that a fairy dropped by okay?" She whispered and got up, dropping back into a portal to the Weeping forest. That kid would sure have memories to talk about.

Okay, so the first portal hadn't been the right one. Not even close. It surprised him really, that there was even a portal that led to a human world house. But then, he supposed he shouldn't be surprised at all. This was Halloween and he was sure the tales of monsters under the bed or in the closet weren't all that farfetched. Especially after that little detour.

Fortunately for him, the next portal, though he had been hesitant to pass through it this time, ended up being the right one. Or as far as he was concerned it was. It certainly looked a great deal more convincing than a dining room at least.

Portal found!

Nevada hissed as she came back, tsking at the portal. When she didn't see either of the moon hunters though, she frowned and set upon finding them instead.

Of course, that meant stepping through another portal and right into a high school dance. They didn't seem to mind her though, and she even earned a very handsome young man to waltz her into a stupor.

If you could call it a waltz. She excused herself and disappeared right back into the forest. Sad day when a girl couldn't get a couple of dances in.
