Today was a typical day. It was the same as every other day in Trini's opinion. All morning he had worked with the birds, exercising them, feeding them, tending to their delicate wings, and now he had a few hours of free time to do as he pleased. And he would spend it in the usual way; in the tavern.

Trini pushed through the rough wooden door of the mews and sheltered his eyes from the hot noon sun. It was a normal summer day in Palisade. Dry heat warmed the town and not a cloud broke the bright blue sky above. Trini sighed, unhappy with the heat, and set off. The Earl's mews, which Trinian ran, was located outside of the main portion of the city, up in one of the classier districts of the city. Gentlemen of stature and wealth owned the businesses in this area, and the streets were clean, indicating the district's wealth. Trini's nodded to plenty of ladies and gentlemen out on their daily errands, accompanied by their household servants, and even ended up being pulled into talks with a few of the men who recognized him. Trini was happy when he finally passed through Iron Gate, the indicator that he had made it out of the district. It also opened up to the market district.

Although Trini usually passed through market district on his way to the Wickernut Tavern, it was rare for it to be overflowing with people. But it was today. People swarmed the roads and as Trinian pushed his way through, into market square, he could see what all the fuss was about. Snorting, neighing, snuffling. Trinian shuddered at just the sound. He knew what creatures were on display today and was repulsed. He despised horses after one of them killed his cousin and ruined his life. Hated them. Absolutely abhorred them. He wanted nothing to do with them.

Ducking his head down, looking only in front of him, Trini ploughed his way through the throngs of people, trying to ignore everything around him and just focus on one thing: Wickernut Tavern.

'Interest, excitement, curiosity' The gentle feelings wafted over to Trinian and overlaid the repulsion that he felt.
"s**t!" The word burst through his lips vehemently as he did a three-sixty and headed back the way he had come. Head up, eyes searching. Trinian had done it again, forgotten about the damnable deer.

This was not the first time.

Luckily, it was pretty easy to spot the buck as the crowds gave a wide berth to the rack on the stag. Teari was nose to nose with a black stallion, who was in one of the showing pens. Trinian pushed his way over to the two creatures, relieved that a fight didn't break out between them before he got there.

'? Curiosity ?' The feelings coming from the buck were layered. Part wonder, part excitement and part question. "This is a horse. A stallion to be exact, and large enough to do you some serious harm if it wanted to, you daft creature." Trini rapped the buck gently on the nose with his finger. Teari snorted in response but didn't back up from his position, ignoring Trini's admonishment. He had never seen a horse before, as Trinian never went near them and hadn't let him near one before now. Trini ignored the horse completely, his back turned towards it.

For Eluf's portion of the day, he carried out his usual morning duties of watering, feeding, and checking on the horses. Some were lead out to the vast pastures on his family's massive estate, and others were ridden out off the trail. Once he was finished up, early this time, the workers on the ranch were left to continue the daily routines.

Usually he'd be going off to assist his father with the business, or going into town for personal reasons, but today was a day for advertising. Once in awhile a few of the horses from their prized bunch would get taken into town to be seen and possibly gain new interest and customers! they were very well known as is, since the business extended out of the country, and was many generations old, but it still never hurt to try and appeal to different venues. And so, eight horses or so were rounded up, and taken into the busy market, Eluf being the one in charge of the whole operation.

They arrived in a relatively large group, a much larger pen already set up the day before in preparation for today's event. With Eluf were four servants who would tend to the horses should he need to tend to customers and interested guests. With everything set up, there was only the duty of waiting now. The horses were all of impeccable manners, having been trained to be more than comfortable around both humans of various ages, as well as other animals. Standing outside of the metal bar pen, the pretty little Eluf smiled sweetly to those that passed by, dressed in his usual dapper attire, and... powerful, magnificent stag at his side.

Axe stood tall, and proud, golden gaze fierce and keeping a sharp look at anyone who got too near his chosen. The buck wasn't worried about making others feel comfortable... he was doing his usual ritual of protecting the lovely little Eluf, who was like a delicate dove. His glistening black pelt would shift subtly as he'd turn his head in minute motions, pausing once as he spied another guardian just like himself. He stared down the other male who was showing interest in one of the horses, gaze narrowing, and head lifting higher to assume a dominate stature. Eluf, however, couldn't help but to light up a little more, and approach both the other guardian and chosen, "Good day, sirs~" his gentle voice spoke up to both Trini and Teari, "Thank you for coming to visit~"
