A soft, warm breeze stretched out over the grasslands. Giving a comfortable warmth to whoever got caught up in it. To go along with the warming breeze, the sun gave heat to the soil, but only so much, as it was the cooler seasons now.

Sahar quite enjoyed this time of the year. When the sky was cloudless, sun not so cruel as to attempt and melt everyone walking beneath it. These scenes were always enjoyable to be apart of. Ontop of it, the tiny canine could run as long and as far as she desired without being so limited by the mid-day heat that scorched her back as she normally travelled.

Today she did not feel like running though. Indeed, she simply walked and allowed her shell necklace to lightly rattle as she did. She had no relevant idea of where she was wandering off to, away from her friends, but she felt like she needed to do something different today. Other than hunt and prove herself useful, Sahar had little time to meet new people, discover new places, and make new friends without her other ones also being there.

So today, she wandered a little further ahead of her friends, iching to see something different from the regular pattern of events that occured in her day. Of course she'd return to her little travelling group, but not for another couple hours...

Cionaodh loved this time of the year! The sun was shining bright but there was enough of a breeze to keep the heat from causing him to swelter in his own coat. He counted himself lucky, though, not to be like one of his brothers or their dad. He couldn't imagine how it felt to have his whole coat made up of black fur.

He was lying happily in the grass, rolling around to his heart's content. He didn't have anywhere to be or anywhere he felt like traveling to right now so he could relax. He took a deep breath in and stretched out as he heard the sound of something rattling nearby.

It sounded too low to the ground to be from something huge approaching so he decided to keep calm and wait until whatever it was got closer to him.

Sahar heard movement nearby. At first she had thought it might have been a bird taking flight, or a snake narrowing in on its newest victim. However the sounds did not cease. Curiousty naturally took over and she approched the source of the movement with caution. Least to say, Sahar was surprised when it happened to be another Jackal rolling in the grass in a carefree manner. Her face made no attempt to hide her slight shock, and she couldn't help but stare speechless for a few short moments.

Was it possible that the pridelands had a large population of Jackals? On her adventure across Africa, if you can believe it, Sahar had not once encountered another Jackal. It was as if they simply didn't exist any longer, and instead she was the sole remaining being.

Then she met Dylis.

Yes, her newest travel companion was clearly proof that she was not alone. That others of her kind still teemed with life, and thrived happily. And now she had met this Jackal. She could not help but think that Jackals lived in one area more than the rest.

Finally, after her moment of delighted surprise she spoke. "H-hello."

If it was up to him, Cionaodh would have been content staying in the spot of grass he had claimed for himself for the rest of the day. Or until his stomach grumbled. Or which ever came first. He could hear whatever was coming near him rustling in the grass but still made no move to get up to see what it was.

It wasn't until he heard the voice of the creature that he finally opened his eyes to look at whatever had wandered across him. His orange eyes widened when he saw the other jackal looking at him.

"Hello!"

"W-what are you doing?" She asked, a small stutter in her words. She could clearly tell that he was laying in the grass enjoyably, but Sahar felt compelled to ask anyways. Or more preicely, she didn't know how to start up the conversation. Which was odd because Sahar was usually not that timid around others of her own height.

Maybe it was just because she was surprised to find yet another jackal other than Dylis. Yeah, that had to be it...

Cionaodh smiled up at the other jackal, which probably looked weird to her since he was still on his back. "Just enjoying the sun," he replied before rolling back onto his stomach so he could see the female easier.

"What about you?" he asked curiously, "What are you doing?"

"Nothing really." She replied, then swallowed her unusual tenison, forced herself to relax her legs and sit down in the grass next to the male. This way she could study his face better, for whatever reason she felt like doing so. It was curious behavior of Sahar, she didn't feel the need to relax and normally she'd feel inclined to remain standing, but maybe her conscience had sensed it would be akward if she continued towering over the other Jackal.

"Exploring I guess." She continued speaking. "Wanted to see if the scenery would change anytime soon."

As he watched her sit down, Cion couldn't help but keep a small smile on his face. It had been a while since he had run across one of his own kind and even longer since he had run into one of his kid that wasn't related to him.

"Exploring's always a good reason," he nodded and looked around them, "though I doubt the scenery will change too much. At least not for a long ways out. Any idea where you're headed or just adventuring?"

She paused for a second to think, also taking that second to get over whatever tension she had felt. "A little bit of both, I think." Yeah, that sounded about right.

"I'm heading to the Pridelands with a group of friends, but they're all way back there somewhere." She gestered with her paw in the direction she had come from.

Cion smiled at Sahar, "The best way to go really. Sometimes it's better to see where you wind up."

He gave her another smile before rolling onto his back. "Looking to stay or visiting?" he asked her.

"I'll probably stay." She admitted while smiling back at Cion. She had been all over the place already, seeing one pride after another only for her too somehow eventually end up at the pridelands. Every time she thought back on it she knew that when she had first started her adventure she thought she would see the world. That she'd discover all there was too discover, and maybe back then she was right.

She'd seen mountains, deserts, oceans, a brief encounter with snow even. Now that she had finished that spur-of-the-moment dream of hers, Sahar was left with a slight empty feeling. That once she arrived that the pridelands she wouldn't know what to do with herself anymore. It was a little scary to think that she was heading somewhere only to be bored for all of time.

"Then again, I might not. I haven't really decided yet..." She trailed off; laying down and copying the other jackal by turning belly-up, enjoying the sight above her.

"Ah," Cion sighed as he stretched out, "Do you have family there or something?" he asked her curiously. All of his life he had lived in the rogue lands, even during his pup years with all of his family still together. He wondered what would lead the other jackal to joining a pride unless there was something there for her.

He couldn't see himself ever willing to give up the life he led, his freedom, to join a pride or anything like that. Granted it might make it easier to get a decent meal, but all the rules. Besides, it's not like he had a reason to join any pride. He wasn't even sure where his parents and siblings had ended up or if they were still wandering like he was.

"No, I'm just going for the sake of it." Sahar briefly glanced at the comfortable sky before looking back at her golden-eyed companion. She could understand if he didn't get her reasoning for traveling to a pride. After all, she didn't really understand it herself, how was another person suppose to? Then again, he smoothly excepted the fact that she was exploring with no real destination in mind...

Ignoring that she continued to become comfortably relaxed, and asked her next questions out of a growing curiousity. "How about you? Are you going anywhere particular?"

"That's a good enough reason as any; see more of the land," Cion nodded as he slowly got to his paws, bringing one up to scratch behind his ear. When she asked if he was going anywhere in particular, he shook his head. "Not really," he told her, shaking his fur out, "I haven't really had a reason to go anywhere in a while."

Oh gosh, I'm sorry! I swear I replied to this a week ago...

Sahar slightly nodded in understanding. "You must be bored a lot then." She remarked, while flopping over on her side. To Sahar bordem seemed to lead to great things in the long run. Even if one was utterly discontent, wishing to be doing something, or moaning over activities that were in all entirety boring; that bordem would spark adventure sooner or later in one's life. It was just a matter of finding the subject that ended your bordem, once that was found your unhappy waiting would vanish over time.

"You should visit a pride then..." She muttered mostly to herself. "Then you wouldn't have to worry about being bored..." She found her footing and rose up off the ground. Only to sit back down afterwords.
