The first is meeting times. I have class Monday nights now. Rose has suggested Sunday Evenings. How does that fair for the rest of you?
I need answers before I can schedule next months meeting.

It appears Sundays at 7pm is agreeable, but please post your opinions.

Secondly, I, for one, am unhappy with the state of Gaia Guilds. They're failing to meet our needs. We may need a new home The forums lack sub forums. The chat is glitchy and unrecorded. The customization options have taken years to become simply meh. More often then not, our character designs are forced to conform to the gaia avi system, instead of the other way around, and there is no way to modify the look of the guild. (Also, lacks a gallery or place for videos)

Laggy for those with poor computers or connections
NSFW. Not somewhere to bring youngins
Large download is required.
Alot of technical work, or RL Money is required to get the most out of 2nd life.

Tumbler
Pros:
Fairly decent and well designed blog space.
Large community

Cons:
No avatars
No forums
No chat space
No Gallery
No Wiki

IMVU

Pros:
3D Avatar System with means to create custom outfits for ourselfs
A RP community of unknown size
Guilds
Chat Rooms

Cons:

Custom Website
Pros:
Complete control over content and set up

Cons:
No Built in Community
Will cost money to maintain
Everything must be done from scratch, including forums, chat space and any other feature we desire.

I'm considering multiple possibilities.

Has no avatars, but full fills the rest of our needs. Avatars, would be replaced with artwork we procure for ourselves. The biggest downside, is the lack of a community to recruit from.

Is excellent for images, and has a large SM community, but lacks avatars, private forums, chat space and group customization.

Second Life.

You can't get more customization... but is VERY un-user friendly. Additionally, the fastest, easiest way to get the customization you want is ussually with real money. It's also very laggy, and not very family friendly. (Lots of naughty bits) Frankly, I'm still exploring this possibility. The game is VERY big.


I'm leaning toward guild launch. What are your thoughts?

Sorry I missed >.< I was busy yesterday cause my mother was home all day and wanted to spend time with her .. that and was distracted with character making too so I am sorry for not being here.
Anyhow Sunday meetings would be find for me smile What about IMVU they have a good avatar system and guilds as well as chat rooms where we could meet. What about Tumblr we could use it too and you can allow multiple people to post on a blog smile

Ill have to look into IMVU. Last I looked at it, it was a glorified chat room. (That was years ago tho). From a quick look around, looks like it's a "Second Life Lite" now. (I do like the fact you can get credits with money, and it looks like you can make custom content).

Still, their Groups don't look any better then ours. -sad face-

Tumbler... I've been resisting making an account. A blog space would be nice... although we can do that on guild launch too... Although I suspect tumblers is fancier. Guess I have to go look.


I'm glad everyone likes sundays. Is 7pm Pacific still good for everyone?

@youth. Maybe. I like the idea of having the customization a personal website offers. One of the things I want above all others is control over the layout and appearance of our site. Guild Launch is very good in this regard. But the lack of Avatars or a RP community is troublesome. We can live without avatars, but the lack of community may be an issue. Frankly, we'd have the same issue with our own site.

Well I'd like to spend this month talking about it. Looking at different options, ect. So we can come to a decision at next months meeting. (So don't miss it!)

Yeah, Solia isn't really a good option. No guilds, no chat, and unless you're sailor pink, you can't make a real fuku. (I've tried, the items just dont exist) I like Solia, and we should all have Profiles there, but it's not a real option.


The more I think about it. The more I think Guild Launch is our best answer. At least, as far as a "home base". The fact it has a easy to use Wiki System is really compelling to me.

I'm also thinking, If we use Guild Launch, or create our own site, we could also maintain presences on other websites. There's a great many places we could promote and recruit.

Hmmm yeah and that's a school night. Whats your bed time?

What time zone is everyone in? I'm mostly in central, so I'm an hour behind Invincible and two before Gaian time (pacific).

And honestly, I see the draw of other sites, but I don't think we should give up this one. Even if we move most of the main action elsewhere, we can still recruit from this - and other - communities.

Also, I'm not really for anything that's gonna make me download the program. My comp doesn't like it so much, and my phone couldn't handle it.

Yeah, Saturdays would be weird. Some sats I'm busy, some I'm not.
