Whether Eva was blatantly ignoring the stares she was getting or if was simply oblivious was a mystery.
The Death trainee in question was current donning a particular hoodie that she had gotten as a Christmas gift this year. Considering how she wasn't currently on duty and wasn't training, she had figured that now was the best time to actually put it on...and truth be told, she really liked it. Compared to her uniform, it was obviously much more soft and comfortable, and...well hey, it was cute!
Wilson clearly had good taste.
She hummed to herself cheerfully as she took another bite of her lunch, her attention drawn away from all the hunters who were walking by to stare at her. With the hood up and the cute bunny ears flopping on either side of her head, she looked more like a small child than the young woman that she was.
Awkward? Just a little.Grngriff ...I'm sorry, idek adfskjsdfhkg

Sherry was starving. Breakfast had been hours ago, and lunch time just hadn't arrived fast enough. When it had arrived, Sherry had nearly ran to the cafeteria. She'd grabbed food and then immediately turned to see about finding a seat so she could eat this delicious bit of lunch. As she looked around (doing her best to not make eye contact with anyone), something slightly out of the ordinary caught her eye. While it wasn't too unusual to see off-duty hunters walking around without their coats on, it was unusual to see someone wearing black and pink bunny-ears. Sherry calmly sat down near the girl in the black bunny hoody. Something about the sweater spoke to her. It reached right inside, right down to the 'girly' part of Sherry, the part that loved her little baubles and jewelry. She leaned over toward the other girl just a bit. "You're sweater is really cute." Then she remembered she was hungry, and started in on her lunch.

Eva glanced up in surprise at the voice, blue eyes widening slightly as she turned to face the girl who had spoken up. After a moment of blank staring, she suddenly laughed, her lips splitting into a big, bright grin. "Thank you! It was a Christmas gift from a friend."
Reaching up, she playfully wriggled the ears a little before letting them flop back down, offering the other trainee a smile. This girl looked...really, really familiar actually. They had probably been on a couple of missions together before, but Eva didn't think that she had ever had the pleasure of speaking to the girl personally. Perhaps it was due time that she amended that.
Sliding around on her seat so that she could face her more fully, Eva abruptly stretched a hand out towards her. "I'm Eva, by the way!" She chirped brightly, "I don't think we've ever been formally introduced, have we?" ...Have they? Considering that she was introducing herself now as if they had never met, Eva certainly hoped not.
That would have been even more awkward than her little outfit.

Sherry smiled at the thanks, her mouth rather full of lunch. She did down that mouthful rather quickly, trying to her best to be polite about it. By the time the other trainee had turned to her, though, she was good to go. "You're welcome! And no," Sherry accepted the offered hand, "I don't think we have. I'm Sherry." She was fairly certain they'd never talked, though she could see now that she did recognize the girl. But she recognized a lot of people. Knowing them, however, was a bit more rare. It was a thought that always made Sherry a little bit sad. So, she decided to get to know Eva. She seemed nice so far, and really, any girl that wore an outfit that adorable had to be a good person. "So, Eva, do you wear bunny ear often?" Her tone was pleasant and honestly curious. It wasn't the best question to start with, but Sherry didn't really want to talk about work.

"Sherry," Eva echoed, smiling as she committed the name to memory, "I'm glad that I finally have a name to go with your face! Sorry though--I know our introduction was...probably long overdue." Long overdue as in, say, a year or so in the making.
But hey, although it had taken a while, at least they finally got that part done! And that being said...wait, was Sherry in death as well? There was a long pause, and then the girl cleared her throat, looking a little sheepish. "Wait, sorry. Your, uh...unit is...?"
The question earned a surprised blink, and then a bright laugh. She shook her head quickly, her ears whipping side to side as a result. "Not usually! I mean, I only really got this hoodie recently...but I think I'll be wearing it more now that I have it." There was a pause, and then she glanced around at the other trainees who were milling about, "Even if I do get stared at for it!" She added brightly.
Ah, so she actually was aware of the staring.

Sherry laughed a little, nodding in agreement. Thinking back, she had seen the girl around for a ridiculous amount of time. She really needed to meet more people. "Oh, Life," she replied. "You are...?" She was fairly certain the other girl wasn't life, seeing as Sherry hadn't seen her around the labs overly much. Of course, that didn't really much. There were plenty of techs and such that Sherry had never met. Sherry laughed again as Eva shook her head. "Ah, who cares if they stare," she said with a dismissive wave of her hand. "It's adorable, and that's all that matters." Kaiyumi I'm so sorry! I thought I had tagged you... orz

She perked up. Life, huh? Good division, to be sure! Or, well, she had a lot of dear friends who were Lifers. Lips curving up in a smile, she pat herself on her chest when the question was turned back to her. "I'm in the Death division!" There was a pause, and then she grinned from ear to ear, lowering her voice to a conspiring whisper.
"Not all of us Deathies are grumps, you know." Her tone of voice was light and teasing, a small hint of affection showing though. They really were a division made up of mostly-grumpy people, but she was most definitely fond of all of them too.
...Then again, Eva was fond of everyone.
She laughed with Sherry, beaming happily at the compliment to her hoodie. "Thank you! I should have bought extras myself for others, though I only managed to get one for Wilson and one for Jake." Both in the Death division, but perhaps familiar names to Sherry?GrnGriff LOL khjghfjhsdfj no prob! <33

Sherry couldn't help but laugh at Eva's comment about the Death Division. While she didn't know an overabundance of Deathies, it was safe to say about half of those she was familiar with could be, moody, to say the least. It was nice to know they weren't all grumpy guys. "I'd certainly hope not," Sherry said with a smile. How terrible it would be if an entire division was indeed made up of men who spent most of their time brooding or scowling or whatever. Very terrible indeed. Knowing there were people like this dark haired girl around to even things out made Sherry happy. Sherry was nodding a 'you're welcome' at Eva's thanks, and was about ask where the girl had found the adorable garment when her brain registered the entirety of what had been said. Sherry blinked in surprise; it was probably a good thing she hadn't been trying to swallow any of her lunch right then. She did know both names. She didn't know Wilson well, but they had met, and he seemed like a really nice guy, even though last she'd seen of him he'd been unconscious in the shower. She didn't know if she could picture him with bunny ears, though. And Jake. Well. She knew Jake, and there was no way she could picture that. Except now her brain was trying to picture them both in bunny ear hoodies. (Which...was a step up from stripped down in the shower.) Wilson, maybe. Jake, no way. No way at all. Sherry shook her head, still looking a bit shocked. "You got them bunny ear hoodies? Do they- did-" she seemed to be have some trouble finding the right words. "Do they like them?"

Grinning, Eva lowered her voice to a conspiring whisper, her gaze flickering from side to side. "Can you imagine? A whole division full of grumps led by Caelius?" She made a face. Despite her cheerful nature, she never made a real effort to hide her distaste toward the Death Division lead. She toned it down a little when she was actually around the man, but she was certain he knew quite well what most of them thought of him anyways.
Noting the surprise that spread over the other girl's face, Eva smiled and emitted a bright laugh. "I'm guessing you know them?" She took a moment to gauge Sherry's expression before leaning back with a chuckle. "Well, if you want to be specific, Wilson got the bunny hoodie--and he gave me this one back," She gave the ears a tweak again, "But the one I got Jake was a Cheshire cat one. You know, a striped one with cute ears and a tail."
She sighed heavily, but the amused smile never left her lips. "Wilson is okay with it, I'm guessing! Jake, on the other hand, only wore it because he lost a bet with his weapon." A pause, and then she chuckled and shook her head, "And he snipped the cute tail off."

Sherry's grin only widened. "I think I can imagine it. I...don't know if I really want to, though." The tone of her voice was amused, with a fear tossed in. It would be funny, but also so very terrible. Especially if she had to work with a division like that. At least it was more funny than it was terrifying. Sherry nodded at the next question. "I do. Well, I've only talked with Wilson a little bit," she shrugged and let Eva continue. She was still just....they couldn't be talking about the same Jake, could they? Her eyes shone with laughter though, as she continued trying to picture the boys in their hoodies. "That was nice of Wilson," Sherry nodded. As for the other, well, cutting the tail off did seem like something he would do. But actually wearing it? "But Wilson always struck me as a nice guy. Though," Sherry looked at Eva, her face still showing amusement and shock. "I have to wonder if we are talking about the same Jake. Cause I just can't--" She stopped for a second. Yeah. Picturing Jake in an eared hoody was a thousand time more difficult than picturing Wilson in one. "Jake, with the blue hair? Right?"

She couldn't just but giggle a little, holding a hand up to her mouth in a weak attempt to suppress them. "Pretty bad, right? Though to be fair, our grumps are really sweet in reality." A pause, and then she made a face, holding a finger up in a matter-of-fact manner. "Except Caelius, of course. As someone I knew in high school would put it, that man had a perpetual stick shoved up his--"
Eva.
...Oops. "Anyways, yeah! Wilson's one of the nicest--if not the nicest--guy around! And, well..." Her smile became wry as she continued, "I'm assuming you've met Jake. Yes, the one with the blue hair and the perpetual frown."
She demonstrated by pointed to her own face, shifting her expression into her best mimicry of the one commonly worn by the grumps of Deus Ex. After a moment, her lips curved back into her usual bright smile. "I thought it'd be fitting! I call him 'Kitten', so..."

Sherry had no hope of holding in the happy little laugh that escaped her lips. She could guess at what Eva had been about to say. Her opinion of the other members of the Death division was heartening, though. And really, if the adorable bunny ears hadn't been enough to help Sherry decided she liked this girl, Eva's views would have been. The life trainee's head nodded in agreement as Eva continued. Wilson certainly seemed that way. As for Jake, "Yeah. That's him." Which meant they were talking about the same person. Sherry laughed again at Eva's grumpy face. It was perfect, or close enough. "Spot on!" And she laughed some more. Or, she would have laughed, if Eva's words surprised her so much the laugh caught in her thought. Sherry gave the Death trainee another look of shock, coughed once and asked simply, "He let's you call him that?"

The fact that Sherry didn't seem too put off by her overly-eager personality was already a huge plus for Eva, who beamed at the other girl brightly. In her opinion, this place could always use some more people who had a sense of humour.
She joined in with the laughter at the compliment of her grumpy face (tm), only for her smile to become mischievous at the complete and utter shock on Sherry's face at the revelation of her nickname for Jake. Looking amused, Eva lifted a hand and rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly.
"I...well, er, no. I wouldn't really say that 'let's' is the right word to use here," She admitted, trying not to laugh, "He just doesn't have a choice. I mean, he protested, but that obviously wasn't enough to stop me."

The look of shock on Sherry's face dissolved as she burst out into a fit of laughter. It was a joyous laugh, one that showed her obvious amusement. "That has to be the best thing I've heard in a while." She could just imagine it. This girl Eva calling Jake "kitten" and the look he'd give in response... She was still smiling when she looked Eva in the eye. "It's a shame we haven't talked before. I think we'd get along swell." Kaiyumi omg. My typo with 'let's'...... /flops around on the floor in shame I swear, I know how to use apostrophes! xD

Ooh, now. Eva really like this girl--seriously, Eva was not obvious to the fact that she could be a little overly-cheerful and obnoxious for some people. The fact that Sherry actually seemed to find amusement in her silly nicknames for people brought a big, childish smile to the girl's face.
"I'll make sure to call him by that name sometime when you're around," She promised with a wink, "You'll get to see Jake's expression in person then." And perhaps she could conveniently have a camera ready and out too. You know, to capture the moment...for posterity's sake.
Letting out a chuckle, she shook her head with a grin. "I know, right? But that's okay--we've introduced ourselves to each other now! We should hang out some time." Though speaking of the time...hmm. Suddenly frowning, Eva root around in her hoodie's pocket until she found her phone, withdrawing it and flipping it open with a sigh. It was time to train.
"Looks like I'd better change out of this and get onto the training fields." Looking forlorn, she slowly climbed off of her chair, stretching her arms up over her head, "But uhhh...hey! If you don't have anything planned tomorrow, why don't we meet up and try hunting down Jake or something?"GrnGriff ...THAT'S OKAY I TYPO'D TOO APPARENTLY adfgsdhhjhsg I know how to use them too, promise /sobs <33
