Shika-Nijiiro wanted to see a beach for the first time as she had asked her adoptive family Shadow and Tsumetai where she could find a beach. They told her about one and she trotted off to find it. Looking about and getting lost as her memory before the twins who took her in has been gone with no hope to regain it.
So when she comes across something she thinks she has never seen before. She stares at it and questions it. She was following a bird and was about to ask what kind it was until it flew away. She looks around finding herself on a beach..
"Wow." Her voice is soft and sweet even when she is upset, mad, or annoyed. Shadow teases her about it. But she doesn't care. This beach.. This place that is like a new world to the flower fields that she and the two fluttercorns live in. It is so different. Was everything like this. Would it always be like this for her because of her missing memory.

Shal'zaru made his way back to shore after checking how things were going on the small island the Naga had claimed to be their new home. With his brother off to see about locating more of their scattered breed and young Zalashji spending time enjoying his new lifemate, it was up to the ad hoc leader of the herd to patrol around their territory. And it gave him an excuse to familiarize himself with this new land while taking a break from leadership duties.
Stepping out of the water, he glanced about, cautious always that there might be intruders around who might mean harm to him or his herd, he noticed a young mare on the beach. She did not look dangerous and he was certain he'd never seen markings such as hers, even with his brightly hued breed. Slowly, Shal'zaru began to make his way to the mare, careful not to make any sudden movements that might frighten her.

Shika-Nijiiro turns her head in time to see the oddly looking stallion. She isn't sure what to think. As she trots up to him and then in circles around him. But this is how she is when coming across something new to her.
"What are you?" her sweetly soft voice asks as she continues in circles around him but slows to a prance and sooner or later comes to a stop being in front of him face to face. "You are different. That is interesting. Can you tell me all about what you are?" She wonders as her feisty side doesn't show until she is frightened or pissed.

The naga watched the mare circle him, tilting his head to watch her. Her questions did not bother him. He was well aware from what the mares of his herd had told him that the other Soquili of this land were not familiar with his kind.
"I am called a naga," Shal'zaru answered with all the patience of the world. "My name is Shal'zaru, but you may call me Shal if you would like. I suppose I am unfamiliar with your kind as well. What are you?

"Me.. Oh I am a hmm.. What was that word again.. Oh yes my breed is called Cerynei." Her voice is still so sweet and soft as she watches him. "What is a Naga?" Her eyes are in wonder looking at him. "My name is Shika-Nijiiro but if you wish you can call me just Shika."
She then looks about the beach. "This is a beach. And this is my first time seeing one I think." Pointing this out as she wonders if the I think gives it away that her memory isn't what it should be.

"Shika..." the stallion said, drawing the mare's name out slowly as if tasting the word, memorizing it. He nodded his head. "Cyrenei. I have not yet met one before you."
Shal'zaru realized the mare was somewhat studying him. "My kind are a sub-breed of what others call the kelpi. There are not many of my kind left. We came here to find our lost kin and begin are herd anew."

"I am the only of my kind that I know. And I am not sure what the Kelpi are either. See I lost my memory so everything that has happened to me before a few months ago is just gone.. It is lost. So everything is new to me." She points out as she hears his words.
"Well Shal I hope you find your lost kin. I am not part of a herd. Two Fluttercorns took me in as their adoptive sister. And that isn't a herd. But a family and though not be blood our bond is still strong and growing. I still have hope and so I believe as long as you have faith. You will find what is lost." This is the only thing she can do for him she feels.
"If I ever see more of your kind I will point them your way."

Shal'zaru smiled at the mare. "My brother and I have been fortunate to find so many of our kind already." He looked toward a small island just off the coast. "We live there now with our mates and kin. You are right about the bonds of family. For too long, I though my brother and I were the only ones left. It was a happy surprise to not only find more of our kind, but that some had had children."
He moved to look down at the mare, smiling. "I am sure there are others of your kind out there and you will find where you came from. I am sorry for your loss of memories. Perhaps you will find someone to help you know yourself again."

Looking at Shal she smiles. "There are a lot of my kind. I am just not sure about family. And a part of me doesn't want my memories back. Because maybe something bad and sad happened that made me lock them away." She continues smiling while saying this.
"As long as I have the courage to keep moving forward and even re-learning things I should already know at my age but that is okay with me."

"I had not thought about that," the stallion answered when Shika-Nijiiro mentioned a bad event might have stolen her memories. "Perhaps you are right not to remember, though, if it was truly bad, I hope that one day you do find the cause and are able to face it down. Until then, you do seem to be adjusting well. The spirits are with you to keep you in such a positive outlook." He nodded a bit, turning to gaze out at the sea, though it was the small island that held his focus mostly.
After a moment, he looked back at her. "It is as you say, families are not often born but made. I have found that, to some, the families they make are equally as strong or stronger than the families they were born to. I would say I hope for you to find your family, but it sounds as if you already have." He grinned a bit. "Now that you have discovered the beach, where will you go from here?"

Thinking about it as she stretches a bit. "I am thinking that I will enjoy the beach before I head home to the flower fields. After all I try not to over whelm myself with too much in a day." She looks at the small island as she smiles. "Your herd is lucky to have you. To seem like a strong and great leader."
She is guessing that he is the leader of the herd only because of how he is acting by checking on the small island from time to time. She looks about the beach. "Hmm how would one enjoy the beach?"

Jynk Shal'zaru chuckled a bit. "I try to be a good leader for my herd. It is not easy, but I do have help from my brother and the others that remember our old herd before it was destroyed."
He mulled over her question a moment before answering. "I think most would like to enjoy the sun on their coat, the wind in their mane, and maybe to find a pretty shell to take home as a souvenir."

Shika looks at Shal a bit. "I guess I can try that." She looks about the beach. "What do you do to enjoy the beach when you have time to yourself?" She wonders looking back at him.
She flicks her tail as she looks about. "This place seems so calming. I could enjoy visiting it more often."

"You should visit more often," Shal'zaru suggested. "The sea offer much tranquility and peace. It is a good place to relax and contemplate." He smiled at her warmly. "Which is what I enjoy doing when I have time to myself, thinking about how far my herd has come and how better to serve them."
He stretched a bit, a ripple going through the fins on his back and down his tail. "You said you are not from here. Where did you come from? There's not much beyond the beach besides the jungle and swamp."
