Name: Jadros
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Craft: Harpercraft
Rank: Apprentice
Appearance: Jadros is a tall, gangly boy with dirty blonde hair that sits haphazardly on top of his head like it hasn't been brushed in the whole of his life. It's cut relatively short, keeping anything from tickling his ears or getting in his eyes. Those eyes, by the way, are bright green, and generally hold a confused twinkle in them, often accented by an arched eyebrow.

As far as clothing goes, he tends not to keep himself all that clean, more interested in having fun than keeping up with fashion. Most of his clothes are fairly old and tattered, the boy feeling no real reason to update them while they continued to function. Looks weren't important.

He is a tall boy of his age, but thin. Most of the time, it looks like his brain is not in control of his limbs. All the same, he is an acrobatic sort, able to do flips and cartwheels without much effort. For a boy who looks like he would trip over his body, he is surprisingly in control of himself. ... when he's being acrobatic, anyway. Regular activities, such as walking in a straight line, seem difficult for him.

Personality: Jadros is a happy sort, always smiling and working on making those around him happy as well. For him, seeing his friends and family smile is more important than anything else, even things like work and his craft. Indeed, there is a lot to learn in being a harper, but he's more interested in using his songs and instruments to make people laugh than he is studying how everything is supposed to work. He doesn't mind that he isn't the best harper out there- he's certain he's the funniest.

He can be extremely loyal to those around him, particularly people he's gained a bond with through time. Friendship is very important, and he is always happy to dedicate himself to those who he can trust, and who trust him in return. Heck, he'll even try and befriend those who seem mean or difficult to approach, aware most have a reason for being guarded. He likes to give everyone a chance.

It makes it difficult for someone to rub him the wrong way, though alternatively he can easily irritate others with his bright, sometimes clueless mindset.

Indeed, clueless is a good way to describe him at time. There are moments where his jokes or playfulness can go too far, either landing him in trouble, or upsetting someone unintentionally. Of course these moments are devastating to him, but it's difficult for him to find the line between just right and too much.

Along with being somewhat clueless, he can be clumsy at times, as well, tripping over his ill-fitted clothing or even just his own feet. He is not usually allowed in places where there are plenty of breakable things, and some worry he may end up falling on top of a dragon's egg instead of just touching it. The boy has heart, no doubt about it, but coordination? Not so much. Most blame his head being in the clouds, in more ways than one.

When it comes to competition, he can get involved and invested, same as anyone else. However, win or lose, he is never one to be a bully about things- a spoiled sport, as some might say. Rather, he is happy to congratulate people when appropriate, or offer condolences if someone seems particularly distressed about losing. Not that he wins a great many things, mind you. For the most part, he isn't the strongest or the smartest in the batch. The funniest, maybe, and perhaps the most kind, but those rarely seem to be winning traits during friendly games with other candidates.

In matters of love, Jadros has absolutely no experience. He's a bit too busy dropping everyone in that friend zone to consider deeper feelings. Perhaps he's just not ready to consider love in all its facets- he is a somewhat simple lad, and complex things tend to evade him.

Though he is a good and a runabout, he is serious about his candidate training. He does all his chores and is never one to back talk someone telling him what to do, even if they aren't telling him to do something in a very nice way. For him, jokes are meant to be enjoyed by both parties, and he would never hurt or tease someone at an attempt at humor. Nor would he anger someone by playing about when he should be paying attention. Still, intention or not, the odd slip does happen. Again, it all goes back to him being a bit on the clueless side of things.

History: Jadros started life in the Harper hall, where he was born of two very proud, very loving parents. His mother and father both lived as harpers, his father generally journeying more than his mother. He spent most of his early years with her, growing fond of her scent and taking comfort in her embrace. He was never wicked child, though he was a bit difficult to control. Early on, it became apparent that his energy was boundless, though it was hard to tell whether or not that energy could be generated into anything remotely productive. He liked to run around and make things, but he never listened long enough to learn how to make things well or even close to how they were supposed to be. Nor was he that great of a singer. Not that he was horrible, but his voice was unremarkable and would never stand out in a crowd. Still, he enjoyed singing very much, and loved to make funny little songs about the weather or ugly wher beasts.

When he turned about eight, his mother became very ill. It wasn't long before she became bed-bound, her fate clear to everyone around her, including her young son. The boy, angry at the world and terrified of losing his mother, started to act out more aggressively, his wild energy turning into rage. He started to get into fights with the other children, and would scream and yell when he didn't get what he wanted. His father, who had come back to the hall to serve there and care for his wife, Didn't know how to handle him, and even considered sending him away to let his wife have some peace and quiet. But she wouldn't hear of it, instead letting the boy spend all his free time with her, cuddled against her side like a sorrowful puppy looking for attention. Before she died, she asked her son to be a brave boy, and not to take his hate out on the world. She told him that kindness was a better way to get past sorrow, and that she would always be proud of him if he treated others kindly. She told him that she loved him, and she knew he would go on to do great things.

When she passed away, Jadros was just nine turns old.

Change came again for the boy after his mother died, the young lad wanting nothing more than to prove to his mother that he could listen to her. All he wanted was to make sure she was proud of him, even from wherever her spirit had gone. His father stayed in the hall even after her passing, a stronger urge to be with his son keeping him from leaving again. He watched his boy continue to grow, turning from a wild, uncontrollable ball of hate to a wild, uncontrollable ball of kindness. Suddenly, he was making friends with all the other kids in the holds, and the adults too. He did what he could to help when it was needed, and spent the rest of his time making those around him laugh. While education again seemed to fall to the wayside, it suddenly seemed less of a crime.

Shortly after Jadros turned 12, a searchrider came to the hold, and he was suddenly faced with the rare chance of becoming a candidate. He had never considered it before, but he found it was something exciting and new, and would give him a new home in which he could make friends with those around him. While his father had wanted him to continue his craft, he knew deep down that the boy was absolute rubbish at being a harper. Beyond a decent voice, he had no talent, and no drive. If anything could get him to find some focus, candidate training would.

And it did, too.

His eagerness to make friends never faded from him, but life as a candidate was tough, putting it mildly. He worked hard with his chores and sought to do as much as possible to get everything done, even when the work wasn't always his own. Sometimes he got in trouble for doing the work of others, but he never seemed to get upset about it. Indeed, it seemed difficult to see anything other than a smile on his face. Perhaps he was just hiding it, but it was more likely that he was continuing to channel his bad energies into better things, just as his mother would have wanted. Even when he messed up, which was common for the clumsy boy, he never blamed it on anyone else.

He's worked as a candidate for two years, and still he sings his songs and tries to entertain those around him. He has become very interested in continuing in training, finally finding something that can keep him stimulated, without him wandering off to follow something shiny.
