Madison perched on a stool, a now cold cup of coffee sitting next to the tablet she was holding - not a weapons tablet, but a runic touch-screen one, suitable for research on the go. At least Death Hunters tended to get good toys. The state of the coffee, though, along with her frown and wrinkled forehead, indicated that she wasn't too happy with what she was reading.
Pripyat - the name kept coming up. Normal-flavor Wikipedia was bad enough; the place was full of radiation, hazardous to anyone. But, evidently, now it was a cesspool of more than just that. The idea of FEAR, Insanity, and lethal radiation all mixing together - yeah, it was perfectly okay to be unhappy with that thought. Especially since the mission indicator on her damn phone kept bleeping.
There was no way in hell she was going to be able to do this alone. You couldn't outrun or dodge radiation, for one thing...

Jordan turned away from the coffee urns and scanned the cafeteria for a spot to sit, cup and plate in hand. He could have gone up to the room to grab a snack and coffee, but the cafeteria was right here, and this way he didn't have to wash his own dishes - his train of thought was interrupted as he spotted a familiar figure, one that he hadn't seen much of in recent months. He made his way across the room and set his cup down on the table across from Maddie. "You look busy," he said. "Am I interrupting?"

"Huh?" Madison looked up, and her confusion gave way to delight in an instant. "Jordan! Oh, man, it's been way too long," she beamed, hopping off the stool to give him a quick hug. "And please interrupt," she added, with a sigh. "Just trying to solve a problem, but I don't think I can do it on my own. It can wait, though. Maybe the break will do me some good, or something."

Jordan returned the hug. "It has been too long. I made myself into a hermit for a while there. It's good to see you," he said, and took a seat. "What's the problem? Maybe a second viewpoint will help out."

"Yeah - we've all been busy," she said with a sigh, moving back to perch on her stool again. "It sucks when all you hear about your friends is rumors, but that's not anyone's fault. Except maybe Caelius', on my end." She made a face. "Though your, uh, Allan doesn't seem... other than his, um. Costume. Thing. Yes."
Madison leaned forward, though, grinning broadly. "Speaking of rumors. I've heard some interesting things about you~ and snagging all the boys. Care to share?" The problem could wait for now, evidently.

"Ugh, getting worked to the bone?" Jordan made a sympathetic face. At the mention of Allan, though, he smiled. "Allan's eccentric, sure, but he's awesome. We work hard, but it's nothing we can't handle." He flexed an arm theatrically and chuckled.
His smile broadened at her question. "Not all the boys," he said. "Just two. Harrison and Rep - man, I can't believe I haven't introduced you guys yet, I've really been out of the loop for a while." He set his left hand casually on the table, not calling specific attention to it, but there was definitely a ring on the ring finger. "I hear you've had some pleasant company yourself," he added with a friendly smirk.

"Wow. I'm jealous," she sighed, at the mention of Allan. "Caelius... well, he's not going to be getting a '#1 Boss' mug from me any time soon. But I do what we can. We all do, heh. Not like it's all his fault the world's not doing too great. I envy you guys sometimes - it's like, there's the bad thing. Go beat it up. Nice and simple, in theory... though I know it's harder than that."
She grinned and shifted forward a little more when he moved on to the good dirt. "Yeah, seriously! I mean, I've seen both of 'em on missions and stuff, but that is not the time for happy fun small talk, so..." She shrugged. "But your luck's run out, buster. I wanna meet 'em, stat."
... "Yeah, well," she added, amused. "Rumor mill hits us all... and Leon's nice. Simple. In a good way. No idea where things are going or even if they're going, but it works for me, right now. And for him too, so... I'll take it."

"I'm a little jealous of you guys now and then, though not on the boss part," Jordan laughed. "You're a Sun, go beat that up, why do you want to know the decision process, shoo shoo. I'm pretty happy where I am, though. Anyway, someone has to look after some of these guys. And girls."
"Yeah, missions aren't a good time for small talk," he agreed. "On duty and off duty and all that. I solemnly promise to introduce you as soon as possible," and he put his hand over his heart, faking a serious face.
"Leon, huh?" Something flickered briefly in his eyes, but it passed quickly. "I'm glad you've got something good going," he said seriously. "You deserve it."

"Thanks. You too. And I'm holding you to that," she added, impishly. "Though... hm..." She picked up her tablet again, giving it a speculative look before glancing up at Jordan. "It seems to me I might be able to solve two problems at once. Namely, this damn mission request that keeps vibrating my phone off the nightstand... and meeting your guys."
She slid the tablet over to him. "Ever heard of a place called Pripyat?"

"Isn't that near where the Chernobyl disaster happened?" Jordan took the tablet and scanned over the information speculatively, sipping at his coffee. "Huh, interesting stuff here. That sounds similar to the Insanity fog, almost. Looking for some backup?"

"Yeah. A lot of backup." She made a face. "It's information-gathering that I'm after, just checking out the conditions and seeing if anything really bad is intruding there, but..." Madison shook her head. "Just going in and out might work, but only if I was stupid lucky. And I'm not gonna count on luck, but I just might count on... what, two Suns and a Moon, right? If they're willing. It's a Class B mission," she added.

"I think they're both going to be off duty shortly. Let me check." Jordan put the tablet down and pulled out his phone. Quote: Text to Harrison & Rep: Hey, you guys up for an external mission? Madison needs some eclipse backup.

"Thanks, dude." Madison grinned again. "I've, uh, heard... well, y'know. Rumor mill can be kind or a ********' a*****e. I've heard the stuff that goes around, but I trust you. And your taste. So."

Harrison had, in fact, gotten off infirmary duty for the day. He liked to work early shifts when he could, and portion out the rest of his time accordingly.
Usually that meant training, but B0nez wanted to spend most (see: all) of their time on the new computer, and Harrison had hurried back to their apartment to oblige him.
Rep, of course, was already curled up with it, and after nudging him slightly aside, he took turns typing commands, with B0nez snugly in the USB port. After a while, both their phones buzzed, and Harrison reached in his pocket to read the message.
"From Jordan," he translated, typing out a response, "wants us to go on an EM."

Rep had been hoping he'd manage to elude missions as long as possible now he had his new toy to play with and had been quite happy to sprawl and watch B0nez and Harrison work. But missions didn't indulge them on the island, and there was no way he'd object to Jordan needing them for something.
"Awright." He didn't even bother to text back himself, simply stretched like a cat and got to his feet to go get his things, the EMs he'd been on thus far had been pretty brutal and to the wire, he didn't expect anything less this time around.
