Slumber parties were the most important thing in a young filly's life, where they could swap their secret girl secrets and have pillow fights and find out who has a crush on who. Well, at least that is what TART had planned, showing up at Dainty Delta's home with saddlebags packed full of makeup and glamor and gossip magazines.
The purple filly knocked at the door, nearly bouncing in place as she waited for her host to open the door.

Delta had just finished all her preparations for her slumber party with TART -- namely, straightening up the room, putting all of her yarn and fabric up in their correct cubbies, setting her dress form over to the side, and making sure her fridge was stocked with all kinds of tasty things. She was prepared, wonderfully so, for a sleepover, with her own visions of a perfect slumber party completely aligned with her friend's. She couldn't help but smile in excitement as she heard the knock on the front door, trotting happily over and opening it up.
"Oh, TART, come in!" Delta said in her sweet, singsong voice, smiling and scurrying to the side to give the purple filly some room. "I'm so excited you could come! It wasn't, uhm, a bother to your parents or anything, I hope. And -- oh my gosh, your bags are stuffed! They're not too heavy?" Delta's eyes widened slightly as she noticed how packed TART's bags seemed to be.

TART gave the green filly a grave look.
"Sleepovers are serious business, my dear Delta. Our entire status as charming fillies is built up by the construct that is the slumber party. The history of the sleepover is ancient and scared, dating back to the dark ages of girldom, also known as Pre-Cosmo. It is a symbolical lie in name, the 'sleep' over, as we intend to have no sleep at all, building the foundation so that we may train in our conniving to ascend the highest stratums of womanhood."
The purple filly dropped her cargo, the overladen saddlebags thunking heavily on the floor.
"I plan to be a trophy wife. Probably to an athlete."

For a long moment, Delta's face also grew grave and pale, her jaw hanging open slightly as she listened to TART speak. Then, as it dawned on her that her friend was maybe, possibly, just perhaps not being serious about the whole ancient-and-sacred bit, a faint giggle escaped her. She tried to push her smile back, to assume a solemn gaze once more, but her acting skills were poor. She couldn't help but smile. "O-oh, gosh. A trophy wife to an athlete? Well, then, I guess that means you should meet Fourseam Fastball. Or maybe you shouldn't meet him until after the sleepover? Since we're going to be, uhm, training and everything."
She took a peek at some of the goods that were doing their best to slide out from TART's saddlebag. "Did you bring, uhm, weapons for our charminghood training? I don't think I have any here ... unless pillows would work."

TART beamed at her friend, turning to nose through her bags, spreading out magazines and hoofpolish and all manners of things she considered to be gravely important for a young filly to use. "Pillows work in the sense of actual weapons, for pillow fights. Daddy tells me how important those are, so we have to get our training in for when we're older. But yes! I have brought many things! We shall have makeovers to do and articles to read and it will be just so much fun." TART giggled, trotting excitedly in place, her little tail swishing.

Delta's large round eyes grew larger and rounder as TART spoke, the sense of excitement and importance that rolled off the other filly making her feel bubbly with anticipation. So many fun thing TART had brought over! Delta had never gotten a hooficure, and the magazines looked so glossy and the mares in it looked so gorgeous...
"Oh! This is wonderful!" gasped Delta. "Can we start with -- ohgosh is this makeup?!"
The filly interrupted herself, looking at part of TART's slumber-party arsenal. Make up! Delta's eyes practically began to sparkle.

“Start with make up? Yes. Yes we can.” TART replied very gravely for someone usually so spunky. She immediately sat and began to sort through her makeup. Well, her makeup and some that she had borrowed from her very awesome father.
“Makeovers are, after all, an essential.” All the eyeshadows in a row, then the brushes and blushes and foundation, TART didn’t think she had any in green. “You get your makeup out too.” She instructed- after all, every little filly has makeup. Or, at least, that is what TART thought.

"O-oh! Oh..." Delta's ears dropped slightly, and a blush began to grow over her face. She went slowly to one side and then another, thinking as quickly as she could. Who had make-up? Surely she had something, didn't she?
Why was her mind racing so much? She knew the answer. No matter how much she might want, there was nothing.
"Oh, my uhm... my mother never... bought me..." Delta said, clearing her throat. "She said I'm too young still..."

Oh. Oooh. Delta was given a cockeyed look for a moment, until TART’s features smoothed out. She shrugged, smile pulling on her face.
“Whelp, can’t be helped! Come over here, I’ll start giving you a makeover with my stuff.” TART could improvise- it’s not like the filly needed foundation with her young skin. “Maybe some nice purple eyeshadow to match your hair? Ooh, or multi-colored. Rainbows. Or cheetah print! Oh I’ve been wanting to try that forever!”

A look of intense relief slowly made it's way across Delta's face, even though her blush remained intact. She settled down close to TART, fluttering her eyes closed as the purple filly took out her absolutely lovely pack of eyeshadows. How lucky she was, Delta thought, to have a friend who'd share with her.
"I, uhm… don't know how to use anything…" Delta squeaked. "C-can you teach me? You always look so lovely… I am not sure how to do a cheetah print!"

Huh. TART hadn’t even thought anything, sharing her makeup like that, but it was as plain as the blush on Delta’s face how happy it made her. Just a simple little thing and Delta was relieved and glowing and happy and that… was kind of a powerful feeling. A good powerful! She could make a phony happy over sharing something so small.
“Well, for one, you have excellent taste, as I do look lovely, and two, I will teach you everything, because you’re every bit as lovely, DD.”
It was going to make for one fun evening, TART setting a big mirror up as she began to go through her brushes and what each one was used for before actually using them on the pair of them. They were going to put on far more makeup than a simple sleepover required, and that was entirely the point of it!

The look of relief turned into utter elation as TART began to give her lesson, although the blush remained on Dainty Delta's face for a while after the other filly complimented her. Soon enough, all feelings of discomfort evaporated completely as Delta became more and more engrossed in the lesson, completely enraptured by her friend's talents and capabilities with makeup.
They ended the night looking like they could be on stage... or maybe at a club. But Dainty Delta couldn't have cared less. All she felt (aside from gobs of mascara on her eyes and velvety lip gloss on her lips) was happy.Luafien yaaay! <33 Thanks so much for the RP! What cuties!
