Rainbow Sky trotted along the mountain path, arriving in the valley below, nickering softly to herself at the soft breeze in her mane. She had momentarily left her mate in search of some apples to bring back as a surprise for him. Pausing at the end of the path, she closed her eyes and tilted her head, soaking in the sunlight that dappled across her multicolored scales. Though she loved the aerie she kept with her mate, she found in times like these that she missed the plains she had traveled so much as a filly. Giving a soft and happy sigh, the mare continued on toward the place where she thought she remembered a small grove of apples to be.
