The little earth phony filly had left her family’s house that morning to pick up some special rolls her mom had ordered (you can’t bake EVERYTHING yourself, y’know!) from a phony she’d never met before. Finding Sweet Bread and paying her for the savory goods was easy enough, and the purple phony with the insane amount of hair was lovely and kind. The transaction went smoothly, and it seemed that Bohemian Rhapsody would actually be getting home reasonably soon! Rolls in her saddlebag, she was ready to head out the door. But then the unicorn had used magic to lift something and that was the end of that. Boho’s mom was an earth phony. So was her dad, which meant that all four of her siblings were, too. All three of her older half-siblings were earth phonies, and while her older half-sister had married a unicorn, Boho didn’t really know her that well. She hadn’t gotten to meet her new cousins yet, but even then, only two of them were unicorns. What this boiled down to was a little filly who knew next to nothing about magic. And right now, she’d just contracted a serious case of horn envy, which manifested in the form of dozens and dozens of questions peppered at the unicorn. ”MAGIC that’s so COOL how did you learn how to do that did your dad teach you what all can you do can I hang out for a while and watch you do magic oh please oh please oh please?” The little filly smiled sweetly at the older phony. Smiles AND remembering to say please? There was no way she could refuse!

Alright, this positively pink filly was all packed and ready to go when Sweet used a bit of magic to put the next set of rolls into the oven. Her eyes widened at the sudden... enthusiasm? Well... magic was just part of her everyday life, so it was strange to think some might even think it was cool. " Oh, uh...thanks." Sweet Bread gave a little smile to the filly. She thought over the questions that Bohemian just asked, wait... was that all just one sentence? " Hmm, let's see. Yes, my dad did help, but it's something you have to learn on your own." Next, what all could she do? She never really was on to push her magic to the next level. " I just make things float around. I can't do teleportation or other major spells like that. I don't know how I'd make bread without magic.~" This little interaction with this pony reminded her how lucky she was to have such a gift. " Sure, I could always use a little company.~"

"My dad's taught me about singing and romance and making weird drink mixes, but nothing so cool as MAGIC!" The filly hoisted herself up onto a chair in the waiting area and watched Sweet Bread work. To her, even the most basic levitation spell was about as awesome as a spell could be. Imagine all she could do if she didn't have to rely on her hooves for everything! "I wish I could do floaty magic. You're so lucky!" The filly took a deep breath and watched silently for a while as the baker went about her business. Finally, she opened up her mouth again and asked as another customer walked into the bakery "So what's your favorite thing to do with magic?"

Oh, well... This young phony sounded like it was well taught in the ways of partying. She was a TACO kid, but my goodness so young. It made her think of what kind of antics her child may run into here in Phonyville. Sweet Bread smiled, it wasn't often she was showered with attention like this."Thank you, but we all have our special talents. What are you good at?" She divided had to divide her attention between the customer and the filly, but that wasn't to hard. "Hmm, my favorite thing..." She said as she fixed the customer up with his choice, waving to him as he exited. "Mmm...I guess pulling hot bread out of the oven. Fresh, warm and I don't burn myself with the help of magic.~"

"That's so NEAT! If I could do that, I bet my dad would let me play with matches again, if I could use magic to make sure that neither I nor the couch gets burned." Bohemian Raspberry watched the customer leave with a happy look on his face. "I like to paint! And sing! And build things! Mostly I like to make stuff, though. Like, I like to take things that are nothing- a jar of paint's just colored liquid, and clay's just squishy stuff- and make something real and cool out of them. Kinda how you take baking stuff and turn it into delicious stuff, I guess! Did you bake stuff for your parents when you were little? I make stuff for mine all the time, and my dad and mom put it on the fridge! Except for the time I painted the fridge. Then they kinda got mad at me and told me that paint was not for brand-new appliances. But if it was brand-new, how come it was just boring and plain? That's what I wanted to know." The filly's mile-a-minute style of speech was hardly slowed by another influx of customers into the bakery- a happy-looking couple, possibly in need of a wedding cake or something of that nature.

Sweet Bread blinked as the Bohemian talked about playing with matches. “ Oh he might, but matches are very dangerous… Even I have to be careful with them.” She listened as the filly listed off things she liked to do, carful not to write it down with the orders for her customers. “ I most certainly did, I know my mom wasn’t the best baker, but she sure helped me to learn my way around the kitchen.~” She took a breath as she saw her son coming to the door. He’d be able to talk to Bohemian Raspberry while she took care of this important order. “ Oh here is my son now, maybe he you’d like to meet him.” Rosewrite stepped into her mother’s bakery after the happy couple. He quietly went behind the counter and began to unpack his bag. It was filled with fresh wheat and herbs for some new recipes his mom wanted to try. He had taking a liking to finding plants and herbs to use and writing them down. “ Hi Sweetie, this is Bohemian Raspberry.” She kissed him on top of the head and went to go talk to the couple. Rose peaked over the counter as his mom stepped away. He look to the edgy looking pink filly across for him. “ Hm, Hello… My name is Rosewrite.”

"Rosewrite, huh? I'm Bohemian Raspberry! Nice to meetcha!" The filly stuck out a hoof to the little earth colt who looked like he could fit into her own family, what with all the pink. He was an earth phony, like her, and she wondered what all he was learning from his mom. After all, she was a unicorn and couldn't teach him magic. What kind of gifts could you share with somebody who didn't have the same abilities as you? She didn't say anything about that, though; she thought it might be kinda rude. She also kept her mouth shut about wanting to play with his hair; it was so long, compared to the choppy faux-hawk she kept hers cut in. Instead, she asked him about the bakery. "So what do you do around here? Do you bake like your mom?"

“ Bohemian Raspberry, cool name and a delicious fruit.” Rose gave a small smile as he put his hoot out to shake the filly's. After a moment he pulled back and checked what was going on in the shop. Why was this filly here? It looked like she had a basket of bread to be taking home. “ Nah, baking is not my strong point. That's my mom and my brother's thing. I like to write down recipes and finding new ingredients, but that's about all I for the shop.... Well besides chores.” He stated after a bit of a pause. Chores weren't fun for anyone. The colt shrugged, before seeing him mom was done with the clients. Sweet trotted back over and began to set out the ingredients for the big order. “ Making friends are we?" She chimed with a happy little grin. "You know I could use some help, anyone interested?” She knew her son didn't like to bake, but perhaps Bohemian might be interested in lending a hoof.

The pink filly blushed- which was pretty much invisible, due to her pink coat. She did like her name, and as she shook the colt's hoof, she thought a bit about how lucky they both were in the fact that they had cool parents who didn't name them things like Moldy Apple or Funny Smell. "Thanks! Rosewrite's a cool name too, especially if writing's what you do. It's neat that you can still help out around here, even though you don't bake. I'll bet you can track down a lot of neat recipes- do you ever make up your own?" Bohemian Raspberry had never once considered the research elements that went into baking, but the more she learned, the more she was beginning to realize that if you were generous with your talents, you could find a way to fit in anywhere!
So when his mom came back over and asked for help, and the little filly was more than eager to see how her talents could fit in at a place like this. "Ooh! I'll help!" Boho squeaked. "What do you need done?"

He laughed a little bit, not really thinking about how his name was Rosewrite... and that he liked to write. Weird, how was his mom able to guess that he'd like writing. Mom magic, presumably. " Hmm, I don't usually make my own, but I've been helping Momma find more healthier ingredients. So we don't have a bunch of fat phonies waddling around here." He gave a smile as he mom walked over back to them. Normally he wasn't one to jump up and help, but sense Bo Rasp was why not? " Me too!" Sweet smiled happily as the two precious pink phonies wanted to help. " Great, Bohemian Raspberry why don't you come behind the counter with Rose." She went on her way, finding some ingredients that was needed for the cake. Using magic along the way to pull some things from higher places and then bring them to the front. Placing everything out, so the two helpers could see. " We are making a big cake. First we need to make the batter." Sweet Bread started nudging the batter ingredients to the children.

"Neat! squeaked the filly as she thought about how much she liked carrot cake. Bohemian Raspberry followed the colt behind the counter and watched as the mother and son worked together. Even though their talents weren't the same, they shared what they could do to be the best phonies they could be, and to help others get the most out of life. It was really important to help others and be generous with your time and talent! Smiling, she helped gather ingredients and hold bowls and anything else that was necessary to facilitate the baking of a cake. She knew already that this one would be particularly amazing because they'd worked together and let her help! Quote: I think we can probably wrap it up soon! Maybe Rosewrite can pick up the lesson, too, if he sees what's going on with this whole "share your talents/time" thing!

While working in the kitchen again, Rose remembered why he didn’t do this. It just didn’t work. A clank here, broken eggshells getting in the cake mix. It was just something he wasn’t meant to do. Getting a little bummed he started to pull back and not offering as much help as the other pink phony in the room. He watched as she helped she eagerly, she wasn’t even expecting anything in return. “ You guys are doing great, now let’s pour these in some pans. ~” Sweet Bread announced as they finished up the batter. Slowly watching his mother and the filly, his attitude started to change. It may have been late, but better late than never they say? With a smile, he helped get the batter into baking pans and into the oven. He still stayed quiet, but he felt as if he learned that sometimes it was just worth it to help someone out. “ Alright, these will have to bake, and cool down before we can add the icing. Also I believe your momma may want those rolls for dinner tonight. “ Sweet hinted giving Bohemian Raspberry a little nudge and walking back to the front room. “That’s the fun part anyway, so we’d love to see you back tomorrow if you can.” Rosewrite gave a small smile as they where starting to say their goodbyes. Scaramouche Fandango Yeah, I think that will work. Hoping on the Generosity train. Thank you so much for dealing with my slowly through some of this.~

"I'll have to check with my mom, but this has been a lot of fun!" Impulsively, she hugged the unicorn mare. "Thanks for letting me help out! See you later, Rosewrite!" Rolls in her saddlebag, she trotted off for home.
