Saya was in front of Wilson's door, a tiny pink envelope clutched with both hands. She thought the hunter was likely to be in at this time but if he wasn't, coming back later wasn't a problem in the trainee's rather free schedule. She nervously twisted the envelope in her hands, her fingers running over the soft bump of the gift inside. It was a hobby that Saya had only recently gotten into so she hoped that the hunter liked it. Sometimes Saya wished she could bake better or cook better but the trainee wasn't especially skilled in that area.
.... He would probably like it. She told herself that over and over, reopening the envelope to peek back inside.
It was her best effort so far so it was probably okay! She placed the sticker back to seal the envelope once more, admiring the cute candy sticker for a brief second.
She knocked on the door, readying a pleasant smile on her face. Since it was only Wilson, she had left her hair down, instead, simply putting a star clip to hold her bangs back.
".. Wilson?"

Unfortunately for Saya, Wilson had left earlier on an errand, leaving only Ryan in the room. Which, given that Saya probably hadn't been notified of his return, she was probably in for a shock when it was him that opened the door, instead of the death hunter.
"Wilson's out at the moment, but I can let you know you dropped by or--Saya?" Ryan stared dumbly at the moon trainee. Of all the people to appear, Saya was probably one of the last ones he would have expected.

Saya might have misplaced Wilson's letter behind, not really reading the christmas note that could have given her some really important information. She had been busy making presents, some things simply slipping her mind. Notes were really important so she planned to read them later but---- AHHH.
Concerning the relative present, she wouldn't have appeared so casually if she knew.
The look of panic on her face, as she realized that Wilson might have told Ryan that she had been crying over Kat and Ryan-- The fact she couldn't help save them when they left and when they had returned .. Everything came rushing back at once, her hands fumbling and reacting faster than her mind did.
Her hand reached out to shut the door, keeping a barrier of wood solidly between the two moon hunters. She wasn't sure why such an insensible solution was the solution she chose at the moment but Saya never did react well with the unexpected.
"Uh.. Um.. Ah--"
She fumbled for words, behind the door.

The look on Saya's face might have told him that, but in reality what Ryan saw was plain old panic. In fact, she looked as though she had seen a ghost. Which made him wonder if this was how Bix felt when he walked into his room. Though when the door slammed shut, he couldn't help but flinch back and stare. Was that a normal reaction? Or--
"Umm.." He started, almost echoing her from the opposite side of the door. "Err.. nice seeing you again?" He called lamely.
Maybe she didn't want to see him? After all, there had been quite a few hunters who held him personally responsible for what had happened with the other hunters death sentences and Kat's banishment.

"Umm .. It's nice to see you again too!" Saya scrambled to answer back, one hand moving to pat her hair down in place. She didn't realize it made her look a little more disheveled, scrambling for a hairband at her wrist but realizing she had none. Ryan's baffled voice on the other side made her action seem much more dramatic and confusing, forcing Saya to compose herself even though she didn't feel ready. But when she thought about it, when would she ever feel ready? She nervously patted Wilson's star clip, tucking her hair behind her ears.
....
.........
The door opened a crack, the short trainee peeking in from outside the door.
" .. a-are you mad?"
She elaborated a tiny bit.
".. That .. I couldnt .. help save you or Kat?"
When she thought about how she couldn't do so, she couldn't work up the nerve to see both Kat or Ryan yet. But Ryan was in Wilson's room .. and Saya didn't really think running away was the best option, although it definitely still remained an option.

It would have been amusing. Given that the both of them were talking through a door instead of face to face. But since he was trying to decide if she was mad at him or not, he was having trouble finding the humor in it. He did, however, manage a weak smile. Not that it mattered, since she couldn't even see it.
"Mad?" Now he peeked through the door as it cracked open to look her in the eye. "Why would I be mad at you? You aren't responsible for any of it. No one is. It was our own decision to disobey orders." Was this why she reacted the way she had? Had she been blaming herself this entire time? "Saya..." He started again, this time more firmly. "It wasn't your fault."

Saya hadn't been looking for Ryan so that he could tell her that. She could argue and they would get nowhere-- but the most important part was that Ryan didn't blame her. Ryan's words were like a gentle pat on the head, as Saya looked down to the ground. Her eyes didn't dare to look at Ryan until she was sure that she wasn't going to cry.
Ryan and kat were back. They weren't going to leave or die today-- Maybe later, they wouldn't be as fortunate. But today, she was safe. Ryan was behind the door and he wasn't a ghost. He wasn't disappearing, transparent and he had legs as far as she could see through the crack of the door.
She patted her cheeks, hoping she looked presentable enough. Her nerves and emotions had calmed down from their frenzied flurry, her hands patting her cheeks as if to signal a sort of "ready" phase. Opening the door, Saya lifted her arms in a delighted pose, bringing them together for a clap.
" .. Welcome back!"

Ryan waited, patiently, to see if she had anything further to say, and after she disappeared behind the door again, he wondered if she was even still there. He hoped she was. He didn't want to have chased her off, knowing that she was probably still beating herself up about his and Kat's and very likely the others situation.
Assuming she left, he started to turn and go back to whatever he was doing before. Or until the door creaked open again, revealing a slightly more cheerful Saya.
"Thanks, good to be back." Or sort of, he still wasn't sure he was completely comfortable with being back on the island. But it beat roasting in the Sahara or freezing in Alaska.

Wilson had been in the library studying about different creatures. It was interesting to read about their origins, characteristics, and weaknesses. He had been mulling things over in his head during his time spent in the library. While he had only been on a few external missions, the hunter found them to be quite enjoyable. He could go to different parts of the world, see different things, and encounter different creatures. It was something he figured he would enjoy doing for the rest of his hunter life. He chuckled as he walked back to his dorm, a small stack of books in his arms.
As he arrived, he would find the door open and a certain moon trainee standing outside of it. Smiling, he cocked his head to stare at both Ryan and Saya. “Hello. Did I interrupt something? I hope not.”

"It's good to have you back!"
"O-Oh! Wilson!" Saya turned around, surprised at Wilson's sudden appearance. She patted her pockets, looking for the reason why she had come in the first place. Moving aside to let the hunter into his room, she pulled out the envelope as she followed him in, slightly past the doorway. "I brought a gift for um .. helping me that time. It's not much at all, because I can't really bake or anything .." She trailed off, subconsciously patting her hair once more.
Inside Wilson's bag was a little green and black star, placed on a few leather bands, making it a simple stylish bracelet. She reminded herself that she would have to make one for Ryan too, as his return gift!
.. Hopefully, Wilson liked it.
.. Hopefully, they were also okay with matching bracelets. Saya guessed that they would be, since they seemed to be such good friends.

It was good to know there were still people who were glad to have him back. He knew there were a lot who were in agreement with Caelius and would have sooner left him and Kat to rot. Just knowing there were a couple here who still treated him as they did before meant a lot to him.
"No, we were just talking." He gave the books a curious look. "Anything interesting there?" The library was full of dull books, but Wilson had a good eye, so perhaps he found a few worth reading. However he would wait until Saya finished giving her gift, before he took a closer look.

He kept smiling as he half nodded to both of the trainees. “Hey.” Wilson remained in place as he watched Saya search through her pockets. “Oh no!” he protested lightly, “It was nothing at all. There’s no need.” A little too late for that, wasn’t it. “Thanks.” He sounded sincere as he took the envelope and pulled out the bracelet while juggling his books on his knee. “I like it! It has a nice, simple design.” He immediately put it on, the bracelet joining the tangled necklace around his wrist.
Wilson shrugged at Ryan. “I don’t know. Do you think it’s interesting to read about Halloween history and ancient creatures?”

"You're welcome!" Saya linked her hands together nervously, as she watched Wilson's expression closely. He seemed happy with it, a tidal wave of relief washing over her nervous feelings. She actually wasn't quie sure why she was so nervous, her hand resting on her chest for a moment to calm it down.
Er-- Umm..
"D-Do you know if Kat's back too?"
Depending on their answer, Saya was going to be running through Deus halls next.
