Things were definitely not going so well for Deryk as of late. And all the pressure and stress was really wearing him down. He needed to try and relieve some of it. So while he had a bit of a break from his usual duties and schedule, he went outside for a walk. Maybe getting some fresh air would help him clear his head a bit.
It wasn't too likely.
Still, it was worth a shot. The death trainee was just kinda sauntering around outside, trying not to think too hard about the various things plaguing him over the past few months. How long would he be able to keep this up, he had to wonder.

Ryan was also outside and in fact was using one of his two preferred methods to relieving stress and anger. Though given the seemingly dark atmosphere looming over him and the scowl on his face, it was hardly working. Still, at least he was getting his drawing practice in and had about twenty pages worth of Caelius dying in horrible ways. He was even using Gale's Christmas gift to add the totally needed red. Oh, and there was probably a detailed one of that horseman b*****d who had shot him full of arrows. Because how could he forget about him?
In short, Ryan was still in a foul mood.

While he was out and about, Deryk noticed another hunter on the ground. From where he stood he could see that he was either writing or drawing something. Curiosity brought him closer and pretty soon he was standing not too far off from the other. He didn't see his face yet, but he was focusing more on what was on the page.
Wait...
Wasn't that.. Caelius? The trainee blinked as he stared some more. Yes. That was definitely the Death Lead. And it looked like he was being drawn in some gruesome way of dying.
Oh and there was another image. And another. And another.
....
Deryk had a feeling someone had some issues with Caelius. Just maybe. He didn't really like Cael all that much either, but seeing this was just a taaaad disturbing.

Ryan sensed the other presence nearby, but continued his work, waiting to see if he'd leave or stay. However, by the time he had finished a detailed pic of decapitation with a spray of red, he found that he was indeed still there. So instead of starting another, he laid the drawing pad flat against his legs and looked directly at Deryk. "You know, you could just ask to see." True what he was drawing, was a bit morbid--or a lot, but it was one of the few ways to vent his anger and he found it helped. A lot.
Though now that he looked at Deryk, he didn't look to great himself. Not angry as he was, but more like he was down on his luck. It was too bad he didn't have a second drawing bad, he looked like he could use one himself. "What's eating you?"

That was indeed a lot of red. Deryk still wasn't too sure how to feel about this. But, he soon paled a little as the other hunter spoke up. It was then that he realized it was Ryan. Well. That did explain a thing or two regarding the whole... Caelius death collage he had going here. Between the haunted house and being banished to the Sahara...... yeah.
"O-oh sorry. D-didn't wannadisturbyou..no," he murmured while shifting his weight a bit. He was about to try and retreat when the moon hunter asked him what was wrong.
"Huh? Oh.. uh.. n-nothing really. Nothing important. No. I'll uh.. just.. be on my way... yes.. Sorry for bothering you."

Yep. The drawings definitely must have been unnerving for others to see, because Deryk was looking rather pale at the sight of them.
There was a slight shuffling of papers, before Ryan closed the drawing pad, covering the images. Once done, he showed the pad and gave him a look that said 'see? all gone now' and leaned back against the tree. "You're not bothering me. You're actually one of the first people to talk to me since I came back here." Though for Deryk, it wasn't really by choice.
"No point in denying it." He started. "Its written all over your face. What's up?"

"Oh.. ok.. Well.."
The death trainee paused as Ryan asked again. He wasn't too good with hiding how he felt it seemed. That was probably going to need to change, especially since he was in death and all. It just wasn't easy, considering everything.
"Just... lotta crud happening. Not sue what to do about it. Not... not really too much to worry about, no. Just.. need to find a way to deal,"
Deryk decided that maybe he should try changing the subject.
"Uh.. you uh.. draw often... yes?"

"Given all the things that's been happening lately, I don't doubt it." True he had missed out on quite a bit as of late, but in Deus, there always seemed to be a great deal of suffering. No one was an exception to this. "Well you've already seen one of my methods, though I'm guessing you're not interested in that." He gave a thoughtful look. "Might I suggest a nice punching bag?" There was a slight grin, before Deryk asked his next question.
"When I'm able to, yeah. Though, its usually not so... gruesome." He finished lamely. "Drawing and reading have always been my favourite ways to pass time. Though books are pretty limited here. Or at least, good ones." He shrugged. "Do you draw?"

Deryk nodded slowly. At least he didn't try prying beyond that. But with everything on the island, he wouldn't be surprised if everyone was stressed on some degree or another. He paused at the thought of getting a punching bag. No. He wasn't like Leon who could punch all the things (coffee included). That wasn't really something he thought he could utilize.
"Aah.. punching bag not really my thing, no," he said a little sheepishly, scratching his head as he spoke, "Ah. I s-see.. Yeah. Books kinda limited. Unless you wanna read stuff in library. Not.. really good for that though, no. But no. Don't draw. Terrible artist. Yes."
Really, now that he thought about it, his main sources of stress relief were.. kind of nonexistent on the island. He had no way of playing video games for example.
At least not currently.

Ryan couldn't help but grin. "Yeah, you're right its better when you have a moving target." Of course, he was joking. He wouldn't take his anger out on anyone, unless it was a mutual desire to beat the s**t out of each other. Or, if they deserved it. At the mention of the library, however, Ryan couldn't help but wrinkle his nose in distaste. "Err, yeah. I'll pass. They don't have anything that can hold my attention for long." If he read he wanted something that was going to draw him in. Not put him to sleep. "No one is a terrible artist. It just takes practice."
It was true. When Ryan started out his art looked like nothing more than blobs on a sheet of paper. Mother nature would have cried at how many trees he killed until he reached the level he was at now.

That comment just caused a sort of awkward smile on Deryk's features. Yeah. He definitely was not like Leon. He could see the life hunter punching someone out. He'd be surprised if it hadn't happened yet really. Though, he soon nodded to Ryan regarding the library books.
"Heh... never seen me try to draw something. It's pretty bad. Trust me, yes," he said with a weak chuckle. That 'rose' he drew awhile back while trying to talk to Jeremy was...
Special.

At that Ryan crossed his arms over his chest and gave the Deryk a pointed look.
"Sorry, but I refuse to believe that. My belief is that anyone can draw so long as they put time and effort into it. I bet," He waved his note pad at him, causing some of the pages to flutter. "that you would be an awesome artist if you kept practicing--" a pause. "--and don't tell yourself otherwise."
Special rose or not, it was unlikely that Ryan would ever doubt this.

Deryk took a step back at that look Ryan gave him. Though, he soon shook his head at what was said. The other male might have felt that he had an artist hidden within him, but he felt otherwise... despite what was just said.
"N-nah. The arts were never my thing. Always a better coder. Hacker. What I used to do. That's where talents lied. Not drawing. Or music. Or writing."

Ryan was not satisfied with that answer and instead of giving up, he tossed the drawing pad at him, followed by the pencil. He didn't even take into consideration that the first twenty one pages were full of gory drawings when he tossed it to the death trainee. Not that it mattered anyways, he had already seen them.
"Prove it." It was more a dare than a command. Ryan wouldn't believe him until he drew and showed him just what he was capable of--or not capable of really. But even then, it was doubtful that even with that, that he would actually give up on him.

Seeing the drawing pad come at him, Deryk fumbled with the catch. He just barely manage to grab a hold of it. The pencil on the other hand... landed on the ground. Furrowing his brow, he stared at Ryan, wondering why he was so adamant about this. But, slowly, he got down so that he could try to doodle something. It took him a little while to find a clear page that wasn't filled with gore. Oh hey there was a random horsemen in here it looked like... Biting his lower lip, he looked around for something to draw. Maybe he could try and draw Ryan. Looking up at the other blonde, he started to try drawing something out. It kinda looked like a three year old drew it.
