It had been gathering for awhile, Keilana's dislike for her brother's choice in mates, the trip home, her brother up and vanishing on her, and then the shifter doing the same. Both leaving annoying notes that only caused her to want to rip her hair out. She had been trying to distract herself, wanting to rip the note up she had found from Takoda and lie to her brother when he EVER came back about him leaving for good.

Kicking a stone she knew that lying to her brother...was a terrible idea and despite everything she couldn't just outright lie about something that meant so much to him. Even if ...the pairing annoyed her greatly. But even then she couldn't put her finger on what about it annoyed her. Growing annoyed with herself she finally decided it was long over due to have a conversation with about the only girl she considered her friend. Animah.

She just had to find her.

Going to where she normally lived she asked about and then was told where the girl was, since she had become a mage her magic had become needed in their lands. So that was the best place to find her. She had to wonder if the girl had amassed that army or adorable animals yet...and the image of it made a smile light upon her lips.

Aminah had just gotten back from her recent trip to Sauti. Though the trip was short, it was necessary. She had met people there. In particular one person, who still bugged her mind to this day. She was caring for her garden, something that had grown popular with the other members of Tale since her return from Zena. She had become a mage on the trip and now she was a productive member of the village.

Her garden was luscious now, her magic helping the leaves grow and the food ripen. Woven planters hung from low hanging tree branches in tiers and the ground was covered in waist-high plants. There were small pathways flowing between crops and the air was humid overhead. Something of a miracle in the dry Tale heat. She had used her water magic to constantly tend to the young plants and set a makeshift irrigation system for when she was away. She preferred to be there though and care for her babies with her own hands. It was like stepping into another world when a person came into Aminah's garden. She had really found her knack.

She was busy weeding out intrusive plants and weeds when she heard a rustling in the distance. The sound was angry, as if the person was stomping to her. She could only begin to guess who it was, but she was almost sure that the stomping couldn't be for her. Aminah stretched from her crouch on the floor and sat back on her heels smiling, waiting to see who would come through the brush and who her visitor would be today.

Keilana despite being grumpy and heavy footed on her way to her friends had to slow down and gape in awe at the array of vegetation that was growing around her. It...was...amazing. Beyond that even...she was starting to wonder if she had chosen the right path in becoming a brute. Magic seemed so much more useful than bashing things with a hammer. Still, she did like the heft of the weapon and she soon spotted her friend peering from behind some of her plants.

It wasn't Keilana's style to wave in greeting she only continued to make her way towards Animah only dropping her hammer once she was close enough to envelope the girl in a tight hug. Goodness she never thought she would miss seeing a person so much.

"Cha....its so good to seeeeee you Animah."

Aminah was about to wave at Keilana as she crossed the space to her, but was caught completely off guard by the hug Keilana enveloped her in. She wrapped her arms around her friend and was happy to see her. It had been so long, and she missed Keilana. Keilana's greeting was something to make Aminah smile. She wasn't used to being missed by others.

"Hi, Kei." She had never been hugged by Keilana before. Maybe something was wrong. "Long time no see. How've you been?" She smiled wide, hoping her friend would have lots to tell her and they could catch up immediately.

All her annoyance at her brother's dissapearance seemed to come to the forfront she sighed and released her friend..if a bit reluctantly. Looking into her friend pale blue eyes she wanted to hug her again and never let go this time, but managed to refrain as she instead went to retrieve her fallen hammer. She really shouldn't treat her weapon like that...but she didn't think a little dirt would do it too much harm.

"....I have..so much to talk to you about Animah....and I am not sure even wear to begin." Keilana began wondering just where to start since she felt like she was going to boil over and just start spouting nonsense.

"Have...you ever been attracted to a girl?" She inquired suddenly, not realizing how...wrong this conversation could go unless she continued on with it. "I mean...ug..." Rubbing her temples she gestured they go sit down...or walk...or something.

"Its my brother...apparantly he had fallen in love....and its...bothering me. Am i selfish because I don't want to see him with someone else?" She inquired trying to get back on subject. "Or am I being rational when I think its a bad idea that he loves someone from another tribe...and its a man ...?"

Keilana released Aminah from her hug and she could see Keilana sag a bit as she went to retrieve her hammer. Oh boy... something must really be wrong. Aminah bit her lip, waiting for Keilana to start.

When she did, Aminah's face popped red. Oh. Keilana's first question had just left her mouth when Aminah thought back to the kiss that shouldn't have happened. Well that was something that she wasn't quite sure she was ready to share with anyone. She wasn't sure if Keilana even caught her blush, she was rubbing her temples and already retracting the question. Aminah felt relief flow through her and was happy to go sit somewhere with Keilana. There was a makeshift bench in the center of the garden, made from the gentle coaxing of two saplings to bend and grow intertwined. It blended in with the growth of the garden and wasn't all that noticable if you didn't already know that it was there.

Keilana's flow of questions continued and it was definitely unexpected. Oh. Aminah tried to think about how she should answer. She barely knew Jacinthus, but when she had met him, he didn't seem like... that type. "Ummm... well, oh boy..." She swallowed and tried to think of the words that would help her friend. "I can see your point... about the other tribe... and the man... but if he's happy... maybe it's better to try to get to know... him...? I don't have siblings, so I don't know if it's that you don't want him with someone else, but if that's the case, maybe you should tell him that?"

She didn't know how good of a job she was doing with helping, but she was really trying. "Or maybe you just need to talk about it more. If you feel like ranting, I'm definitely here for you!" She swallowed and smiled at her friend nervously. This was definitely a new position she was placed in and she wanted to do it right.

Keilana was happy to be moving and even happier to be sitting down, though she should of admired the subtle weaving of the plants growing to form a bench she couldn't really find herself able to take in the glory of the garden surrounding her. I. Fact she was so distracted but her thoughts she only sat down and leaned against Animah and sighed. She had missed the blush that Animah had given and probably a good thing else she knew things could of been rather awkward otherwise.

Listening the Animah she knew what she said was true, though when given the cue to vent she went full throttle forward with her complaints.

"I don't like him," it was matter of fact and to the point. She didn't like the shifter whom her brother decided to devote his life to. " I don't like him one bit... And now my brother has gone on some...quest and left me alone with the shifter." You could almost hear Keilana grinding her teeth in irritation, " it's not fair! I mean, I am so worried about my brother, I have no idea where he's gone and I don't want to try and 'get to know' this guy he brought home with us."

Aminah embraced this new role of listener for Keilana. She really enjoyed being there for her friend, even if she wasn't very adept at helping. Keilana began venting and Aminah put her hand on Keilana's for assurance.

She pouted slightly at her friend's turmoil. If only she knew what to say in this situation. "Maybe this is a good opporunity to get to know him on your terms." She could only imagine what that would mean to Keilana, but maybe the pressure of not having Jacinthus around would lighten the air, or at least progress things with them. "You can figure out if you really have a reason to not like him?" She shrugged her shoulders with her last would-be statement.

Aminah laughed. "Worst comes to worst, we can just hang out more so you don't have to see him. I don't think I would mind."

A reason to not like him? There were plenty, most steaming from their first meeting in the forest of Jahaur. Though she had mis-read his actions as him being hostile...and making fun of her, she was too stubborn as of yet to really accept she had just been overly sensitive in the situation. She was also yet to admit that...she was afraid that now that her brother had found someone....she would lose him.

"I...may take you up on that Animah...your....doing a wonderful job with your garden..." She noted looking around for the first time and allowing herself a moment to actually take in the scenery. It ...only lifted her spirits a moment before it sank again. Right...Takoda liked plants too.

"I...just.....I am afriad...after our parents ...left and never came back...now Jacinthus has gone...what...what if he never comes back? What will I do Animah? I...don't want to be alone..."

Aminah beamed at the recognition that Keilana gave to her garden. "Thank you Kei! I'm glad you like it!" She was so happy to have her friend appreciate what she had done with herself that she almost missed the slight sagging of Keilana's body. Mmmm... she was still bothered by her problems. Aminah wanted to help her friend as much as she could.

Aminah immediately felt sad for her friend. Being alone was a horrible thing. She knew the feeling of not having any friends, but she didn't think that could compare to the feeling of not having family. She threw her arms around Keilana and hugged her friend like she was trying to push Keilana into her soul. "Kei. You will never be alone!." Aminah spoke with confidence in her voice that she knew it was true. "Your brother would never leave you like that. he will always be there for you. And I will always be there for you." There was an absoluteness to her voice. Aminah had never been so passionate about anything before, but she knew her friend needed to hear that she had somebody there for her. And everything she said was true. She would never not be there for Keilana.

Keilana had been about to bring up her wall again, that wall that had served its purpose for so many years to keep others out, to keep her feelings locked away tight inside. It had protected her for countless situations, but had also left her without many friends, only her brother to talk to.

As the woman engulfed her in a tight embrace, she felt her body stiffen so use to rejecting sympathy that she wanted to push Animah away from herself. But, there was such a warmth to that embrace that it was hard to resist it and she found herself caving into her arms and wrapping herself tightly around the girl as well. As if she was the life preserver keeping her afloat in her sea of loneliness.

Keilana felt her face flush as her fingers dug into Animah's back, it wasn't that she meant to hurt her friend she was just...afraid. Afraid to let go of her, despite Animah's reassurance that Jacinthus would come back...she couldn't help but have doubts. It had just been a regular hunting day for their parents...just like every other day they went out...and they never came back...

"I am..just so afraid ..." she whispered clutching the other girl, "I don't want to lose him..."

Aminah's heart felt heavy for Keilana. This conversation was something that Aminah was ill equipped to handle. She squeezed her friend tighter and felt comfort that Keilana was squeezing back. Maybe Aminah wasn't doing such a bad job at this and she could help Keilana.

She listened to Keilana's whispered words and squeezed her eyes shut. She couldn't begin to understand what Keilana was feeling. She knew that Kei didn't have her parents around, and losing Jacinthus would be too much. "Kei... don't be afraid. I know you won't lose him. He'll come back from his quest and even his... guy... friend... won't take him from you. You two are family." She wanted to reassure her friend, even though she personally had no experience with this. Thinking back to her parents, it probably wasn't something Aminah should be sounding so sure about. But this was a different time, and what they did was in desperation.

The young leaf tribe girl cried for how long she wasn't sure, though it was only a couple of minutes and she felt her chest heaving from lack of air, it took her a moment to gather herself and to gently pull away from her friend. Rubbing her eyes with the back of her hands before she looked to Animah and sighed.

"Thanks fo..for listening..I don't know what came over me..." She offered a small crooked smile to the girl, looking around she tried to distract herself with her friends garden. It really was a marvel..

"Why don't you show me around your garden Animah? I would love to see what your doing here." This would be a good way to distract herself. Look at her best friends garden.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 26, 2013 10:32 am

Aminah smiled back at Keilana, glad that her friend had decided to come to her when she was having problems. She worried for her friend. She just wanted everything to work out fine for both Keilana and Jacinthus and hoped that Jacinthus would come back soon.

Aminah stood from the plant bench they were sitting on and brushed at her shorts. "I would love to show you around." Aminah smiled wide at Keilana and pulled her up by the hand.

She didn't know how well she could explain the going ons in her garden, but she would sure try. "I thought that making all of these plants available all the time would probably be a good thing for the village, so I got to work making all of this happen." She pointed to the hanging plants above their head. "These plants here help keep the moisture in the garden and trick the plants into thinking that it's the rainy season all year round. They're not very good for eating, but they're good for treating cuts and burns. They're held up by woven baskets out of vines and grass and all of the vines holding them up are alive and growing all the time. I have to be extra careful to make sure that I adjust the hanging plants every day or else the humidity will shift with the vines somewhere else. The vines grow small leaves and berries that make for some very delicious drinks like teas and juices." She smiled with pride at her invention. It was what made everything possible. Without it, Tale wouldn't have the roots, nuts, and sprouts that she grew except for during the brutally short rainy season. And she tried to only use plants that could be harvested for use.

Aminah turned back to Keilana, searching her face for a sign that she was still worrying and didn't want much more of a tour. She was trying really hard to not be completely absorbed by her garden to the point of rambling on without waiting for her friend to catch up.

Keilana was quiet at this point, not out of politeness but because of her emotional exhaustion. Taking the girls hand she didn't release it under any circumstances, it was like Animah was the only thing keeping her sane at the moment. Her head turned as she looked around as plants were being pointed out to her.

She sounded entirely too much like...Takoda. Why did people have to be obsessed by these things? The shifter was always trying to explain the use of this plant or that plant and it only made her angry since her brother paid a lot of attention to the shifter. Her body was visibly trembling as her thoughts had turned back on the shifter and her brother. Her hand tightening on Animah's until she realized she may be hurting her.

Easing her vice like grip she offered her friend an apologetic smile. "It..seems like you have quite..the variety. Did you bring any back from Sauti? There wasn't a lot there...but I am sure with your green touch you could coax them into life." There all Keilana needed to do was distract herself.
