It felt like eons since she had seen a tree, even longer since she had climbed one and it felt amazing. Feeling the rough bark against her skin she soaked up the morning dew on the leaves and enjoyed the smell of the moss. She had left Rishima back at camp, claiming to be going hunting in the forest and that she would be back soon. Honestly she just wanted a moment to run around and enjoy that sense of freedom she had missed for so long.

Feet slapped against tree bark as she leapt from one tree branch to another, she only slowed down when she felt like Jerarda had forgotten how to breath and her lungs and legs burned. Stopping she slipped into a sitting position on a large branch, swinging one leg out as she allowed herself a moment of peace. Eye's closed briefly she looked up and then opening them she noticed some ripe fruit, mouth watering she instantly was up (despite her legs protests) and climbed to the upper branches to pluck them. Biting into one she moaned at the taste and hurriedly began picking more.

How she missed having ampuls amount of food around, she swore she would only leave home again if someone dragged her away.

Maya gritted her teeth her mind racing miles ahead of her own body. She wasn't sure how she was going to break the new's about her child to the rest of the tribe back at home tree. The lotus was currently starting to bloom and Juliet was eager to meet her daughter laying deep inside the colored petals. Leaping from branch to branch as her mind continued to wander soft noises ahead of her alerted the blade to the presence of something unfamiliar. Pausing on the branch just above the sound Maya poked through the fruit to get a better glimpse.

It was another Alkidike, she was sure she had met this one before but couldn't remember. If anything she didn't seem to be a threat and enjoyed the same fruit she did! Her sisters appeared to like the fruit but didn't seem to get as exited about it she did. Smirking she poked her head through the leaves and branches upside down she smiled at Jerarda offering her a fruit before loosing her grip on the branch she was balanced on and tumbled down to the branch below.

Wincing she rubbed the top of her head with a moan.

Jerarda hated to admit that she had been starteled but even as she had sensed the oncoming movement she had reacted a bit too slowly and was thrown off balance when the head popped out and fruit was offered to her. A couple step backs only alerted the other her startled state. Blinking Jera could of sworn she knew this Alkidike, but her name eluded her and...wait didn't she travel with her to Zena?

That was quite possible but before she could say anything the other had fallen from the branch onto the one below. Looking down she offered the other a small quizzical look before she slipped down to the lower branch to help the woman up.

"You okay there?" She asked before she took another bite of the fruit the juices dripping down one side of her mouth which she promptly wiped with her forarm. "You seem to be in a rush."

Maya nodded her head felt a little fuzzy, and after blinking a few times she was able to see a bit better. Rubbing a sore spot on her head Maya was shocked to find a hand offered out to her in a very friendly manner. Smiling up at Jerarda Maya reached up pulling herself to her feet.

"Yes I'm alright, I appreciate your concern sister." Pausing briefly with her hand on the back of her head Maya let her smile fade slowly. Replaced with concern and curiosity. "Do I know you? You look familiar to me somehow..."

A pause where Maya seemed to withdraw into her mind, her hand dropping plainly at her side. "I'm Maya, by the way in case we haven't."

Jerarda continued to chew thoughtfully though she had grown since she had begun traveling her pride was still very much intact. Jutting a thumb to her chest she grinned, "I am Jerarda, you probably heard of me." Came the rather arrogant introduction, though her posture shifted to a more comfortable position she tilted her head wondering just how hard her sister had hit her head.

"I think we traveled together...but I could be wrong, there were many sisters in the group to Zena. " She continued as she finished the piece of fruit off as if she was famished. "Just got back to Jahaur...was tired of the cold weather up there. I can't believe people can survive where there are no tree's to climb and hardly enough food to forage for a single person never mind a village."

"Why were you rushing anyway?" Came the next question, as she was a curious alkidike she wanted to know why her sister was in such a rush.

Pushing two of her stray locks back over her shoulder Maya's smile returned to her face. Her eyes lighting as a thought came her to mind, she had never met this girl before but that didn't mean she couldn't try to make friends. "I think... Nope never heard of you before." Maya's smile grew wider at the mention of Zena she hated that place. "Zena was terrible and cold, as soon as we killed the innocent beast I left. Couldn't stand the cold either I felt like my life was being sucked out of me. I wont go back until I have to, nope." Her smile faded.

Even if she had to go back now was a terrible time to do so. She had a child on the way, she had been warned about the mix in the child but wasn't sure how she would take to a cold atmosphere at all. Blinking in confusion at the mention of a hurry Maya lost her smile once again. "I'm not heading anywhere, nor am I really in a hurry. At least I don't think I was." Pausing to ponder her earlier actions Maya shook her head. She really couldn't think of any.

Searching the floor for her companion Pacju Maya didn't see her, which only proved to reassure her she had not been in a hurry. "I only meant to offer you the fruit. You seemed to enjoy it as much as I do."

Jerarda cocked her head to the side and nodded her head slowly. She bit into the fruit that had been offered to her and chewed slowly before swallowing. She regretted gorging on the fruit now as her stomach was alerting her that she was beyond full.

"So you were in Zena? Yeah I ended up staying way longer than I wanted...I think my antenna got frostbite a bit there." Was her comment as she looked down at the Radaku that was prowling along the forest floor. Somehow she recognized the beast...

"That yours?" She gestured to the creature wondering how people kept aquireing beasts like that. Rishima had one as well...should she get one?

Panic surged through Maya, she was sure her child was safely back in her room at home tree. Safe and well protected. Glancing down towards the ground where Jerarda was motioning she finally spotted Pacju among the fungus her horns bobbed about as she searched the ground for random traces. Maya grunted and returned her gaze to the Alkidike before her. So she had been in a hurry somewhere, but where in all of Tendaji was she heading? And why? Her face took on a quizzical look before turning into a smile. "Oh you mean Pacju, yeah she's bound to me. After I saved her from a Menzuri."

Blinking a few times she cupped her hands around her mouth and yelped twice. The sound reaching down to the strange creature who looked up with a yearning gaze, but did not attempt to climb instead circled twice and settled down. There that was settled, Maya thought with a large grin. Pausing for a moment Maya's smile grew wider. "I've completely forgotten I was going anywhere, or why for that matter." Rubbing the back of her head absently Maya felt somehow like she had turned into a strange crazed person, mad with smiles and insanity around her Alkidikes sisters. Seemed even worse around strangers. Perhaps it was due to her trying to hide her lotus.

"Oh but don't mind me, what finally brought you back to Jahaur besides the chill in the air?"

Jerarda pondered these words, seemed a lot of beasts wanted to be friends after you saved their lives. Some how she doubted it would turn out the same for herself if she attempted it. The alkidike figured there was more to it than just saving their life but she wasn't that interested in having a pet herself.

Jera wondered if everything was quite right with her sister, she seemed to be acting a bit strange, a bit...scattered. Though she had no right to judge it was just a observation. Her head turned as she watched and listened to Maya give out a call..or command and the creature settled down content to know where its master was. It was funny just how different this Radaku behaved compared to Rishima's.

"Well a couple of things besides the cold. I am escorting one of our sisters back to Aisha, but only after 'she' confronts her...um...paternal mother. She lacks a certain ..confidence in herself." Jera explained with a shrug. Jera had done her best to build up Rishima's confidence but one could only do so much.

"Sister back to Aisha? After confronting her mother... Isn't Aisha her mother!? Why confront mother before seeing mother. That makes no sense at all." Maya's arms folded across her chest, leaning her head against the bark of tree. The only way it would make sense is if the sister had been born from Aisha's flowers much like her new child had been. "Unless she's like my daughter..." Maya left the thought hanging in the hair turning her head back down to the Radaku that paced the earth below them.

"Jerarda, sister. You don't look like someone who would possibly tollerate a half breed. I assume from the statement this sister is." Somehow the scattered mind seemed to pull intself together in a more serious tone as Maya tried to think. Most of the Alkidike's shuned the half breeds who were born in a diffrent lotus and called another mother who wasn't their goddess Aisha.

Watching as Pacju stared down a spittorog on the forest floor the Young Blade huffed, searching her sister for kindness. Perhaps this one would be more accepting than her other sisters in home tree. Perhaps she would accept her youngling unlike Niebet and Elder Kishku who had been furious when Maya had returned with the Lotus.

"I have a lotus of my own." Maya whispered off handedly. Hoping that she was to quiet to hear but glad she had gotten it off her chest. She, Maya of the Alkidike tribe. Had a rare new title... Mother.

Jerarda gave a half shrug at Maya's comment about not tolerating a half breed alkidike, perhaps once upon a time such a statement would be true. She stumbled across Rishima and 'her' radaku months ago, the poor timid thing kept under watchful eye by 'her' biological mother. Not allowed to leave, or discover for 'herself' what 'her' potentials could be.

Sitting down to join Maya she yawned a moment, "I suppose you have a point, 'she' is a mix breed, but there was something that screamed to out to me the injustice of 'her' being kept under thumb. Rishima wasn't told anything about her people and so I whisked 'her' away to go on an adventure. ". Jerarda explained as she swung a leg over the branch to look at the ground.

Jerarda didn't regret bringing Rishi along, growing rather attached to that wide eye'd boy.....

Girl.

Her mind auto corrected the mistake, but it still lingered in her thoughts. She didn't care for men, but Rishi was....different.

Turning her head as she barely caught the words Maya spoke she was distracting her from her prior thoughts.

"A lotus? You? That is..." What words could she use to describe this new information? "A gift, from our mother to you?" She inquired gently, lotus's were special and rare.

Closing her eyes the Alkidike took in the fresh air. "So she was hurt? By her own mother." Maya's eyebrows pulled together, painfully delving into thought. She didn't want to be a mother who was going to hurt her child. She wanted to protect her, but she wanted to give her the safe room to roam and grow. Limit's, yes she was going to put limits down just like Aisha had done for them as they grew. "At least you were able to get her out, I do hope she learned a great deal." Maya smiled tenderly as Jerarda sat down with her.

Glancing down once again to watch her companion on the ground toying with the pathetic creature Maya was surprised not to hear a sudden judgment passed, disgust, or any other potentially negative reaction from Jerarda as she questioned about the lotus. "Yes, Aisha has granted me a lotus. I wonder if I will ever be ready for a child. Most of our tribe isn't kind towards those who have a mother other than Aisha. I guess in a way, they are still Aisha's children." Maya found herself thinking out loud watching as a strange butterfly like creature fluttered by.

Jerarda rolled the word around in her mouth a moment. Hurt? Well she wasn't exactly positive that Rishi's biological mother actually physically hurt him...er her. Perhaps unjust? Over-protective? No None of those words really suited the problem...overbearing? Maybe.

"Not hurt...just....over-protective...and over bearing. She wouldn't let Rishi live hi..her own life...just keeping hi..er..her as close to her as possible. It would be like a mother bird not letting her chick learn how to fly. All birds learn to fly...but this mother wouldn't let her chick spread its wings." She tried to explain though was finding her analogy was...somewhat awkward.

When the subject turned back to the lotus she noticed how Maya seemed worried about how others would view the child..and perhaps herself. Putting a hand on the others shoulder she gave it a powerful squeeze of reassurance.

"If the mother granted you a lotus..then it is a gift, she is trusting you to raise the child as if it was your own. Do not worry about our other sisters..I am sure they will accept her just like everyone born of the lotus." She reassured the woman. As to her question about her being ready for a child that only Maya would know.

"I know I am not inclined to have children...but I should like to try...perhaps to unite the clans. It it time for peace to come across the land."

Maya took in a deep breath. Yes hopefully everyone accepted the small child. She was still a bit worried about Neibet, recent events and all. It was uncomfortable to be confronted with someone's love in such an indirect way. It was possible she would accept the child given her help with the room, but what if the child was mixed, what then?

"It would be nice to unite the clans, I forget why we even fight. Save that is what our older sisters have taught us. Must we always be bound by what the elder ones say?" Maya mused her mind racing as she spoke. She wanted so much to walk her own path to be herself. Free of the strange oppression she was feeling.

"I wonder if children will bring good luck. You know, like a lucky flower or something?" Giggling Maya leaned back slightly. "What is this sisters name?"

It was a good question, why did all the clans mistrust each other? Why did they fight? To be honest she was just raised with the expectation to treat the other clans the same way they always had. Jerarda realized she should and would need to do some real digging to figure out the cause. Perhaps knowing the reason for the rift would be the best way at bridging the clans back together.

Of course this thought lead to an inward groan, this meant research and a lot of work....she hated that sort of stuff. Phenyo was much better at that than she was...perhaps she could ask her to do it... The thought was tempting but she also dismissed it. If she truely wanted to unite the clans she probably should be the ones doing the work.

"Hi...her name is Rishima." Jera stumbled again wondering just why this was going so poorly for her today. "And I don't know if they bring good luck...they are a lot of work from what I know." The alkidike shrugged as she went to sit on the branch she had been standing on.

"I ..cannot recal the true reason why the clans fight. Honestly most of what I know is legend and I am starting to suspect Mythos..."
