She had wandered much farther than normal this time. A second thought had never even entered her young mind. It was in Risti's blood to wander. As were a lot of other things, but she didn't want to think about that right now. It would cause her stress and her flesh would begin its breaking again. She didn't want that to happen. She stepped tentatively over fallen trees, skirted around large bushes, and ducked under low hanging branches, delving deeper and deeper into the forest to see if there was anything new to be found.
The more she saw, the more she wanted to keep going. She would have so much to tell her brother and sister when she got home. She began preparing her story for when she decided to return home and brag to her siblings. But her story was missing something. Action. She had all of the boring details and all of the interesting difficulties she'd had during her journey, but no real action. Her tale would put her siblings to sleep rather than excite them.
She continued onward, hoping to find something interesting and then to go home without falling apart again. She didn't want to cause the breaking so far away from home. She supposed it should have kept her close to her family. Perhaps that is why the tunnel had given her the curse, to keep her from leaving her family, she thought naively. But either way and despite the tunnel's intentions, her wandering legs could not be held back. She had to find a story. She had to find something interesting.

It was so easy that he could have probably done it in his sleep. Sneaking away from his mother and father as well as his siblings was easier then foraging for food. He wondered if they were blind or just delusional. Either way he was happy to have gotten away from them. Sometimes being on such a tight leash was suffocating and it had been that way since he popped out of his basket. It was almost like shackles were put around his legs as soon as he began walking for the first time. Such a worry wort family he was shoved in. But he could only suppose he was blessed because some didn't even have a family let alone those who actually cared about your well being. Some days he could do without that part though.
Right now at this very moment, he was looking for something to do. He didn't have a whole lot of time before his mother and father began looking for him, but he knew it would probably be his mother. Then again that was bad enough. So for the time being, he was going to have a little bit of fun since he didn't think he would be let out of there sight until he was an adult once he was found. But ah well you only lived once right?
As he wandered, he caught sight of something interesting. Something that was pastel colored and strange. Peeking his ears up, he followed closely making sure he didn't lose the other foal wondering what that was on her rump. A tail? A cat tail? Weird looking creature she was indeed and even though this was his first stranger he ever encountered, he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to start a conversation. More so his instinct was kicking in. Blame it on the kalona blood all you wanted, but he was beginning to hunt the poor girl even though he didn't look menacing at all. It was in his blood.
Lowering himself, he made sure he stayed hidden and was happy for once that he didn't have a problem blending in with the surroundings. He kept a safe distance from her grinning mischievously and then it happened.
CRACK!
Looking down, he saw the culprit. The source of the noise. It made him grimace and stomp the poor stick into oblivion. His cover was blown and he knew it.

She gasped and jumped at the cracking noise, figuring it was her body finally giving out and exploding into a million tiny pieces. But when she looked down, she saw that everything was still in one piece, despite a tiny crack in her front, right leg from the shock of the noise.
She realized right away that that could not be the source of such a noise. She looked around, her cat-like ears pointing her to the direction the sound had come from. She flicked her tail with interest, seeing a crouching colt who seemed to be stomping with all of his might on a stick. Doing a bit of hunting, are we? She thought to herself slyly and wrapped her long tail around herself.
She didn't feel like a victim, didn't feel afraid of this other foal. No, instead she felt that she owed him another chance. He had failed after all, hadn't he? She wondered if her large ears would not have picked up some noise from him if he hadn't stepped on the stick. She felt a little sorry for him, but knew this was the action she was looking for. She smiled at him now, batting her eyelashes and swaying slightly. "Would you like to try again?" she asked, subtly poking fun at him and giggling inwardly.

Oh this little filly sure was aggravating him. Not only did he make a mistake with hunting, but she was poking fun his way. If he was another colt he probably would just shrugged it off, but to him this meant war. Then again he didn't really have anything to harm her with or he probably would have used that tactic already. Without staying a word, he straightened himself a little bit and stepped forward looking at the odd creature in his view. He kind of knew she wasn't normal. He was part mutant himself, but you would never know because he was the only child who didn't get any traits from the father. Well...the will to hunt was probably something, but he didn't have any physical traits. For now, he just shrugged at her giving his tail a small wiggle. "Try what again? How can I try that again when you know I'm here? Pfft it would defeat the purpose of hunting you." He spat at her before easing his glare off her and looking at the surroundings a bit more.
Was this going to be his whole day out? He was going to spend the day chatting with some nobody before going pretty much into imprisonment for who knows how long? He didn't want that to happen. "Are you doing anything exciting? I'm trying to have some fun before I'm locked away never to see sunlight again." He scoffed at the thought of actually trying to be friendly with this filly. What on earth was he doing? Flicking his ears back, he lowered himself to the ground once more and began stalking after a squirrel.
Meat was something he couldn't eat and didn't want to eat. Occasionally he would get the cravings for it, but he was told it would make him really sick. In a way he was envious of his father and brother's because he knew they probably would be able to stomach such a thing, but he never would be able to. Yes he was a mommy's boy, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. He loved his mother. Then he pounced, missing the squirrel and falling flat on his stomach. Hunting didn't seem to be his forte, but he felt the urge to do it. "Don't laugh or I will bite your tongue off!" He growled out or what seemed to be a growl. He then went back to trying again and when he failed, he would just repeat all over again.

She figured by the fact that he had been hunting her that there was something off about this colt. He looked completely normal, but she knew from her own family that just because someone looks normal, doesn't mean that they really are. She examined his relatively normal markings and coloring, almost giggling at his little stump of a tail. She watched him straighten, standing a little taller herself. He was standing too close to her now, but she didn't back away. She met his brown eyes with her own, leaning in so that her horn almost touched his forehead. "What's the point in hunting, if you don't know how?" she countered, her light and airy voice taking on a slightly bitter tone.
She backed off a little after that, releasing her tail from around her body and letting it swish thoughtfully behind her. Locked away? Was he some sort of prisoner? She found that idea to be highly doubtful by the looks of his hunting skills. What would anyone lock him up for? He had an attitude, sure, but that was no reason to be kept from seeing the light of day. "I was exploring a little, trying to find something interesting to do. You can come with me, if you'd like," she said, her voice returning to its flirty airiness. She bit her tongue herself in an effort to resist laughing at his pathetic attempt to catch a squirrel.
"How can I resist laughing at that?" she asked, giggles stifled in her throat. Was he trying to show off for her? It seemed that way, or he wouldn't keep trying. How cute. She giggled girlishly at him when he growled. "Go ahead, bite my tongue off, I dare you," she said and stuck it out at him. She turned, caressing his face with her tail and then skipping away from him, giving him his second chance at hunting her.

Snorting in frustration the colt turned his head to the little filly and gave her a disgruntled looking face. He was annoyed by her comments and it was obvious for someone to see. "What is the point of learning how to hunt if you don't try? You have to do it in order to make yourself better. Of course I'm not going to be a master at it right away. I highly doubt anyone is especially when they are so small and wimpy looking." He scoffed at her before giving up his quest for hunting at the moment. It wasn't like he could do anything to the animal that he caught. "What do you think your some kind of pro at it or something?" He asked her furrowing his brow and staring at her angrily. Even though he had the look of a very defenseless Cerynei, he had the anger of a kalona. He was known for acting on it as well and his brothers got the brunt of that, but they could handle it anyway.
Did he really want to follow this girl? Probably not because his mother would end up finding him regardless. So it was going to be a definite no. "Exploring? Meh..don't think I should wander too far. My mom and dad will come looking for me at some point." He nodded and looked back through the woods where he originally came from. Oh it wouldn't be long now before he heard the angry stomps of his mother.
"It wasn't meant to be funny." He grimaced at her with a growl following and even though his growls weren't as threatening as he would have liked, he felt if he kept doing it they would improve as well. He rolled his eyes at her annoying behavior before looking around some more and wondering what exactly he could do while he waited for the inevitable. "So what are you exactly? Part cat I'm assuming?" He asked her as he flopped down on the ground with a thud. "Nothing to do.." He sighed.

"I don't need to hunt. I eat plants like a normal person should," she snorted at him, wrinkling her nose in his direction, "but if I were to hunt, I wouldn't do it like you do. You have to be quieter, you have to watch where you're stepping, and stop that annoying growling." She assumed it was growling. It sounded sort of funny to her, kind of awkward for him.
"What? Don't want to get too far away from your mommy?" she asked, smiling a sweet but fake smile. She supposed that was what he meant by being locked away. She was glad that her parents were understanding of her need to wander. They knew she could take care of herself. She glanced at the forest behind him, intending to be adequately away from the area by the time his parents arrived. She could take him on, that was fine. But she wasn't about to deal with an angry mother and potentially furious father. No, thanks. She would be long gone by the time they found him.
Her tail flicked behind her and she looked back at it carelessly. "Part unicorn, actually," she said, giving him a matter-of-fact look and glancing up at her horn, "If you saw my sister, you'd be even more confused." Her sister's tail was a snake. Oh how Risti wished she was here now so that her tail could give this colt a good bite. She watched him flop to the ground, thinking that was hardly the entertainment he was looking for, or the action she wanted. "Come on, don't be a wimp. Let's go find something to do. You can't just expect adventure to fall into your lap," she said, turning to go once again.

Tilting his head at the odd filly, he didn't understand why she didn't need to hunt. She was part cat right? Maybe he was thinking too literal into everything. "Ah I see...I do as well, but every now and then I get the urge to eat some bloody pieces of meat." He nodded talking about it as if it was the best thing in the world. But yes, he did fail at growling and he knew his brothers could pull it off a lot better then he could since they have more kalona blood then he did or at least appearance wise they did. "I'm not doing real hunting anyway. If I was I wouldn't want you around me." He huffed straightening himself up and walking a little bit away from the young filly. He already couldn't stand her.
"Yeah if I get too far the more trouble I will get into. You see...it's a pretty tight knit family I'm in. I can't really do much unless I sneak away from them." He shrugged and even though he loved his family to death, he felt like a prisoner sometimes. He knew with time he would grow accustomed to it. "Don't you have someone that looks after you? I mean your only young...so you should right?" He asked tilting his head some more before thinking about it some more. Maybe she didn't have a family? He wouldn't be able to understand why she didn't even if she told him, but it wasn't that serious. He didn't care one day or the other.
"Part uni?" He huffed out not thinking that was the best breed to be, but then again he looked like a full Cerynei. So he wasn't really any better. "Like what? I can't travel too far or my..." He clenched his teeth and if he kept on being careful he wasn't going to ever have any fun. "Fine I will go, but it better be worth it. I don't want to get in all this trouble for something stupid." He told her as he walked over beside her and gave her a small nudge. "You lead the way then.."
