Oh gawd, oh gawd she did not want to be here, of all places. Pacing outside of the office, she placed her hands on either side of her head carefully thinking over her options. If she left now, she could remain sort of unnoticed.. like a rat on the island forever.. ugh, no. That was no good. She couldn't go to Allan, because it was Cael who sealed her weapon, so either way, she had to speak with Caelius. What was the worst that could happen? Caelius would banish them again? Or would he simply lop their heads off first thing? Or was it to be permanent suffering?
Her pacing stopped, as she awaited her partner in crime to show up--whom she had only recently found out actually did survive. She totally never cried, and if anyone said otherwise, she would kill them before they dared to utter a word about it.
"Come on, Ryan.. where are you..!?"

When Kat had come to him and talked about going to talk to Caelius about getting their weapons back and being reinstated as hunters in training, Ryan thought she had lost her mind. Caelius had banished them. Cast them out to die. What made her think that he would ever, in a million years, even consider allowing them back? The very notion of going to the death lead was making him nervous. The fact that she was serious about it had him staring at her with wide eyes, speechless. Worse, she intended to drag him along with her.
Well, better to die with a friend right? Kat. The little traitor...
"Here and wishing I wasn't." He answered, arms crossed over his chest, now that his one was healed enough to be out of a cast and sling. "I still think you are ******** insane. You do know he's probably going to kill us on the spot, right?"

The door to the notorious office was partially open, most likely suggesting that there was indeed a certain occupant taking a certain amount of residence inside. If they heard Kat or Ryan, they made no mention or notice, though the figure of their apprehension could be seen at their usual desk pouring over the usual amount of work.
Other than the two banished trainees talking with each other, it was quiet.

Kat grumbled something under her breath at Ryan's response. Did he honestly think she wanted to be here? She hated this as much as he did, but eventually, they would end up here one way or the other. They might as well just get it over with now, instead of hiding away like they had been. "Yeah, I know, but one: he probably already knows we're here. Two: we can't hide forever. We can't even leave the island, so what are we supposed to do, hmm?" Not waiting for an answer, she turned to the door, reaching out to push it open, though a little hesitant.
Stepping into the office, she cringed at the sight of Caelius at his desk. Well, she knew he was likely in, if the door was unlocked and open, but still.. part of her wanted to run screaming out the door right this instant.
Glancing over her shoulder at Ryan, she carefully stepped towards the death lead, not wanting to disturb him as he worked and get him pissed off more than he usually was. Though, that was likely to happen anyways when he looked upon the two exiled trainees in his office. What was she even supposed to say to him? 'Hi I'm back! We didn't die like you wanted, so can we have our weapons back and forget this ever happened?' Yeah right. Casting Ryan a nervous glance, she urged him to speak up first. Oh yeah, she was totally making him do it.

True on both accounts. But this was like asking for death. Or rather, continuing the one they were already meant to have. "Its still suicide." He muttered under his breath. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do this. Begging for his 'life' back was one of the last things he wanted. In fact, in spite of being here, he wasn't sure he would be able to do it. He had a grudge. One he was likely never to forget.
When Kat pushed the door open and stepped inside, Ryan followed closely behind like a silent shadow. He wouldn't have spoken up even--if it wasn't for Kat freezing on the spot and looking to him to speak for her.
Thanks Kat.
"Sorry, we didn't die like you wanted." His words may have well been 'sorry to spoil your fun and ******** you.' Maybe Kat should have spoken first.

Despite there obviously being, unless Caelius needed new glasses, two occupants within the room, the Death lead continued to work. He was currently approving several pages of mission requests, if by approving meaning ripping most in half and writing discouraging comments to those that did survive the first round of elimination.
Circe was at her usual place, by the desk, in her totem form: both surreal and familiar at the same time. She gladly obliged their presence, turning slightly, a singular eye lazily glancing their direction. The room hummed, softly.

At Ryan's snide remark, Kat struggled to bite her tongue, giving him a look of 'Are you ******** mad!?' before returning her attention to Caelius. Whether or not he had heard the comment from Ryan was yet to be determined, though she had a hunch he had. It was kind of hard to miss. While Cael appeared to be hard at work ripping and writing papers, Kat shifted her gaze to the small blue orb of an eye that was Circe.
She had seen Circe many times when Caelius was about, and his weapon not summoned, but this was probably the firs time she had actually taken the time to look at her. She was pretty, and probably the most unique of weapons she had laid eyes upon. Though, being the weapon of the death lead, that wasn't all too surprising. Fixated on her for the time being, she gave her simple nod before looking back to Caelius, who had yet to respond to them.
Was she supposed to speak up? Or was she to remain silent? Either way, this was likely not to go well.

Kat's look was returned with a careless shrug. No doubt he heard it. Caelius wasn't deaf. But it did mean he was ignoring them. Something which didn't seem to surprise him all that much. Though it left the problem of 'what now?' Just standing here was awkward enough, but having spoken aloud once already, would there really be a point to trying a second time? Probably not. Not when it was the death lead of all people.
Finally, taking into consideration, that they were both likely going to be killed anyways, Ryan approached the desk. Caelius was still tearing up paper, with such perfection that it was almost like an art. Well no wonder. He seemed to do it often enough. But eventually his attention was drawn towards the little winged orb, or eyeball, just as he reached the desk. Something which he had seen around long enough to know that it was Circe in her somewhat less intimidating form.

There was a distinctly off feeling about the room, about everything, as if something - someone - was watching them very carefully, a refocused magnifying glass focused at their skulls. As the room turned into ceaseless, shrill humming and an infinite white, they could for a second, hear two voices, conversing quietly. The first was wordless, their query in tones of emotions: amusement, curiousity, and then an unplaceable sort of desire.
'Do as you wish.' The second was more than familiar, though the source of where exactly the Death lead was remained obscured in the white.
Everything shifted. It felt warm, comfortable. It was blue, it was lush greens, it was off-whites. It was a figure just smiling as warmly, flowers buried into her hair. At first glance, she may have reminded the two of another more familiar horsemen Head Priestess, if not for her longer braided hair.
"Come," A laugh, gentle now, clamping down and repressing any confusion and panic, "I would like to see you."
It was less an request and more a self-invitation: the next second she held cold fingers around Kat's shoulders -
- And then kissed her deeply.
Everything around Kat unravelled. The Sun trainee saw, no, she re-lived her last few weeks of turmoil. The echo of the horsemen, of Medea, promising something she could never have. Her fear of Ryan's death. Her pain of loss of her comrades, and then every single nerve and emotion re-exposed again, of crawling through the desert, step by step, the agony just as real through the memory, as if directly connected to that single moment-
- The figure let go of Kat even as the Sun trainee's body continued to spasm, several times, before finally stilling, eyes vacant and glassy. She moved to Ryan next, all gentle smiles and burning teal eyes, holding out one arm. "Come."
And then Ryan laughed, a snarl, a strange emotion the Moon trainee themselves had a hard time placing. It felt like he was still in control. "I think not, b***h, this vessel will be mine until he is King."
Everything around them flickered, growing pale, growing dark. She retracted one hand delicately and then in return, simple tilted her head. Curiousity and delight. "You are then, a fragment of the c-"
-"I am only to be used as my King sees fit." Ryan, quite posessed, could only watch helplessly as he talked. "After the conditions have been fulfilled, I will sleep again, like the others. We wait for one command only."
If the humming had been sharp prior, the noise was almost unbearable now. Ryan's head felt at the least, like it was about to cave in and then explode. "The memory of an artifact is uncorrupt and pure," she continued, "And yet unable to grasp true Human emotion and memory. It will be your undoing."
For Ryan, everything was hard to focus on now. He had the distinct feeling of apprehension and something attempting to curl, hold onto him deeper, he had the strange feeling that he knew a little more than he ever should have-
- And then a terrible shriek, as if something was pulled piece by piece out of him. His heart wrenched, he screamed over and over and over memories of not-him playing through him, like a conduit.
- A promise by a lean, calm figure, reaching out towards him -
- Bloodshed, armoured bodies strewn over a table -
- Someone pulling him, hiding him, the urgency- he had to -
- The Sahara desert now. Ryan's true personal memories. The caverns. Medea. Kat. The pain of loss, the feeling of betrayal-
- The moment as he looked at one figure in hatred, seething rage and promising revenge as he walked into the Sahara portal-
"Shh," whispered her soothing voice to him, "I have taken what was not your memory and in return will take what is yours." More memories played out, Ryan reliving each moment. Bix's death. Ceres's corruption. The Haunted House. Locke. As each memory played, they simply faded away. All that remained was the tugging sensation that there should have been something there and an emotion he couldn't place. Who exactly were they again? What did that name even mean? Did he even have friends? Why was he so angry-
- It seemed distant now and far away. There was loss indeed, but only in the same way a child would lash out without understanding why. The ugly gaping holes in Ryan's memory, as each piece was torn out, one at a time, was only a tribute to exactly how helpless the Moon trainee was.

Reaction solo time! Feel free to write a reaction post. - Then roll 1d6. These are the number of memories correlated to the descriptions above. For example if you roll a 1, you will need to find one memory related to Ryan's personal memories of recent events, such as the Sahara, or Medea talking, or losing a friend. It has to be one of the ones I have listed (see rp above). - Those memories will be permanently erased from Ryan so choose and think carefully on the exact condition! You will need to write out that memory before it is wiped out to reconfirm your choice

Neither of them wanted to be here, and if they had any other options, they wouldn't be. Caelius was the last person she wanted to see, but it was him who held all the cards, as well as their weapons. What other choices had they? If there was some other way off the island, then maybe they could have just left this place and the hunters altogether, but there wasn't. They were stuck here.
Something felt off..
Watching from where she stood, her gaze followed Ryan as he approached Caelius' desk, both curious and nervous as to what it was he was about to do. Ryan clearly still held deep hatred for Caelius, she did as well, but he made no attempt to hide it. She only hoped, that whatever it was he was about to do, it wouldn't get either of them into further trouble.
Fidgeting with part of the bandages wrapped around her arm, covering the deep gash on her arm, the feeling remained as she stood in an awkward silence when everything disappeared into a flash of white. To say she was startled was a bit of an understatement: Kat was ready to panic. There was nothing here, nothing at all, except for the sound of two voices, one of which she couldn't understand. Yet.
'Do as you wish.'
Caelius' voice was enough to have her spin around, as she tried to determine his location. With no success, she continued to scope the area for, well.. anything.
In a moment, everything shifted again, allowing the ex-hunter to feel a little more at ease once again. It was strange, this feeling, she couldn't explain it.
Her gaze shifted, landing upon an unfamiliar, yet very familiar looking woman with blue flowers fastened into her hair. The first thing that came to mind, was the head priestess, Medea. However, this woman.. as much as she looked like the horseman priestess, there was something different about her.
"Come, I would like to see you."
At the sound of Circe's voice, the confusion and and panic faded, allowing Kat to relax completely. Barely acknowledging the touch of Circe's cold hands on her shoulders, Kat stared up at the woman with wide eyes, unsure of how to act or to respond to-
-kissing. Deep kissing.
Had she the time to protest or freak out, she would have, but the flood of memories swallowed her whole, causing her to re-live every moment of what she had been trying to forget ever since she had arrived back on the island.
From the events in the haunted house, to her exile, and to the moment where she had believed Ryan to be dead.
The memory of Caelius and the portal to the Sahara surfaced, followed by all the emotions she had on that day. She hated him for everything he had done, and though she would have never admitted it, she was scared to had been tossed out int the desert with no hopes of making it out alive.
The memory continued, carrying over to the time with Medea in their lair, to when they had rejected her offer and had been knocked out in a result of it. Shortly after, the events that followed up after, being bound and locked in the cavern to the point they were rescued and brought back the island trickled into play. Though it was only a memory, to Kat, this was all too real.
Just as fast as the memories came, they vanished completely. Leaving nothing but a gaping hole in her mind. All the memories of her being banished, Medea, their rescue--they were gone, leaving her with no explanation as to why her weapons were gone, why she had a mental break down, or any knowledge that she had left the island since the Haunted House.
Shocked, stunned, and confused, Kat swayed a little before blacking out all together.

The strange humming probably should have been their first warning to leave the office while they still could. But then the two of them weren't the wisest of hunters and didn't listen well to instinct.
He wasn't sure when it happened, but the harsh white of the room and the shrill noise left him blind and deaf and yet, two voices could be heard. One, barely audible. The other--
'Do as you wish.'
The voice was Caelius. He had no doubt about that. But then who was he talking to? Last he had checked, there was no one in the room when...
The room shifted again, flowing from the harsh white to warm, somewhat pleasant surrounding. There was someone present now. Someone who bore a strong resemblance to the head priestess. That Medea.
"Come," Her laughter was soft, gentle as she called to Kat, "I would like to see you." The woman didn't wait for Kat to respond and instead, approached her herself and---well Ryan wasn't sure what to think of the next part.
The time was brief and though the woman hadn't said a word, or done anything to indicate that she was harming her, without warning the sun trainee's body dropped to the ground and went into spams before finally she stilled.
"Come." She said again, this time her gentle smile and arm reaching towards him. Which, after seeing Kat drop to the ground the way she had, caused him to involuntarily take a step back.
He didn't want to meet that fate and if by allowing this woman to approach him like she had Kat, then--
Laughter interrupted his frantic thoughts. But surprisingly it wasn't coming from anyone around. It was coming from him.
The laughing continued before turning into a snarl, followed by anger. Though the anger wasn't his own.
"I think not, b***h, this vessel will be mine until he is King." Unable to speak for himself, Ryan watched, helplessly.
King? It took him a moment, but then he remembered. The dream. The offer that had been made to him. The orb. This must have been his other self. The one he had made a deal with. But if he was here, then why was the other as well? He was still in control. So how was it that the other was--
Their surrounding grew pale, darker, and the woman retracted her hand from him. Though her expression didn't show fear nor anger. Instead there was curiosity and delight. "You are then, a fragment of the c-"
-"I am only to be used as my King sees fit." His other self cut in. "After the conditions have been fulfilled, I will sleep again, like the others. We wait for one command only."
Command? Though he was merely a bystander in their conversation, Ryan found himself drawn into what they were discussing. Unfortunately it was all he would learn. A moment later and the shrill noise was growing louder, to the point it was unbearable. The pain caused by it felt as though a thousand knives were being driven into his skull, while the sensation in his head pounded as if it were about to explode. Any louder and he felt as though it would kill him.
"The memory of an artifact is uncorrupt and pure," The woman continued, unfazed by noise. "And yet unable to grasp true Human emotion and memory. It will be your undoing."
In spite of her efforts to explain, at this point Ryan barely understood a word she was saying. In fact, all he he was aware of now was the pain and something coiling deep inside as it tried to keep its hold on him. It was at that point that he could tell that he knew too much. He held knowledge that should not have been known to him and which would soon be removed by force.
There was a terrible shriek as something was pulled from him. Piece by piece while the memories of someone played in his mind over and over. The memories themselves were both foreign and yet held some familiarity and for a moment he was finding it difficult to decide whether they truly his or not.
Darkness and then--
The memories were gone, replaced entirely with new ones. His memories. Of the time in the Sahara, his encounter with Medea, Kat and--
"Shh," The soothing whispers returned just as his panic started to rise again, "I have taken what was not your memory and in return will take what is yours."
If that was supposed to calm him, it had the opposite effect.
Did she mean to take his memories? Steal them from him? No! he was definitely not okay with that!
Ryan would have thrashed, or yelled--anything to stop her from taking them. But he was helpless and before he could manage anything, he found himself back in the haunted house. Bix was there, already changed, while his monstrous form lashed out at the hunters. Just moments before Caelius shoved a dagger into his side, weakening him, followed by Rep charging forward and--
The memory vanished. Gone. Like it never even existed.
"Cut it out!" He snarled. Unaware of what he had just lost, but aware enough to feel anger rising in him. Though in spite of it all, the next memory just kept on playing out before him.
This time it was Ceres' turn. Though unlike with Bix, Kat and Ryan were there, along with the few others that disobeyed orders; choosing instead to protect their own.
He recalled it clearly. It had been his choice. He didn't regret it either. But like the memory before, it vanished, leaving only a gaping hole where it had been.
After that, more of the events from the haunted house played out. The overwhelming grief and anger over Bix and Ceres death. His blind rage as he lunged for Caelius, missed him and suffering the consequences of his actions and--Locke. This too played out in front of him. Forcing him to watch again while his partner was torn from him. Forced to listen as the unbearable shrieking noise as his bond with the carbuncle was severed. These too vanished from his mind, leaving only unexplainable rage and sorrow.
He felt ill. He hoped, pleaded in his mind that it would end soon. But as with everything else, his suffering would not end with those memories alone.
Shortly after the scenes from the haunted house dimmed and faded away, more lit up in front of him. Only this time, memories of the one person who had helped him make it through this entire ordeal appeared before him.
Kat.
Sheer panic now as each memory involving the sun trainee began vanishing from his mind. Not just one, but everything. From the time they first met, their spar--even that time she had tormented Otto with the coffee. They all vanished. All fading away until nothing remained and the person known as Kat never even existed. Gone. All of them gone. His memories. Memories he never even knew he had. Memories he could feel the sense of loss over, but at the same time, didn't understand what it was that he had lost.
Helpless was an understatement. Ryan felt vulnerable and exposed.

It was impossible to tell exactly how much time passed away to Ryan, to Kat, in that very niche of what had once defined them, and now unraveled, cold and empty. It was impossible to tell when exactly the moment had passed between the strange alluring smile of her and the sound of something ticking: a clock hanging in the real room, the sound of papers rustling gently, a slow humming that was still painful at best.
Everything was loud, everything was exposed.
- "done here," continued a half-lecture from his truly, "Then you are dismissed."

Ryan blinked. They were back in the office again, but the strong sense of loss and the painful humming remained.
"What?" He blurted out, wincing at how loud his own voice sounded to him. Done what? He hadn't heard a thing the death lead had said and he was having a hard time grasping the reason for being here in the first place.
The memories of his banishment still lingered, as well has his rage directed towards the death lead and everything that happened after. But he couldn't remember why he had been banished. Or why he was angry for that matter. He didn't even know why this other girl was here with him.

Dazed, Kat merely stared at Caelius as he finished speaking. Though, whatever he had said previously, she had completely missed it. Who was done here?
As Ryan spoke out, Kat winced and clutched at her own head. Gawd, everything was so loud!
Something--everything felt off.

Silence. Two loud taps, the sound of another stack of papers being neatly placed together and stapled. Organization. Simplicity. Control.
"If you are done ******** around," Caelius repeated, slowly, "Then consider yourselves very much dismissed. Your corresponding division will deal with the clean-up in regards to your outstanding behaviour." Silence again, and then he straight at the two trainees that would have made lifeless corpses look highly reanimated in comparison. "I will remind you one final time why you even still ******** exist on this godamned island. Because you have been assigned a singular purpose to fulfill, and you will exist until each and every aspect of it is branded into your skulls, if not for my personal amusement. You have not been granted clearance to die because you have not earned it and if you feel the urge to defy your given roles as a goddamned Hunter, as not even a goddamned Hunter, even so much as thinking of acting out of line, consider it my personal investment that you and anyone remotely advocating your mis-behaviour will be made example of until my patience wears out. While I'm sure several of you assume that I have very little patience for most things, you will find that I am very patient when it comes obtaining exact, very specific, results. I hope I make myself very clear."
Even if the two did have questions, the humming in the room was sharp enough to drive everything else away but the pain. It felt as if the longer the stayed, the more the pain persisted until their skulls threatened to burst, again, and again.
The time for questions was later, as well as the time to reflect on exact consequences.
