A full moon hung high in the sky, its bright glow casting a silver sheen to the landscape. It was a good night for mischief.

The flutter gazed about with colorless eyes. It had been long since she had caused any trouble. Wings fluttered in agitation. She needed to create mischief and tonight looked to be the perfect night for it. Tossing her mane, she made up her mind. Tonight she would go hunting. With that thought in mind, she trotted off deeper into the woods.

Wending through the trees, she picked her footing carefully, taking care to avoid stepping on any twigs or rustling any of the undergrowth. She had formed a reputation for being a ghost. A reputation she nurtured. A twisted smile curved her lips as she wandered and plotted.

Had she been here before? Even if she could remember, even if she had her memories, she wouldn't be able to tell where she was. It was too dark. The moonlight warped things and twisted the way she perceived her surroundings, causing the usually graceful mare to stumble and trip over rocks, vines, and tree stumps. She debated with herself on whether or not to stop for the night. But something here felt off. She didn't want to stop, and certainly didn't want to sleep here. She did pause to rest for a moment though, looking up at the moon desperately and panting a little from walking so fast.

Taking in her surroundings, she thought she saw a flash of white out of the corner of her eye. She looked in the direction of the brightness, but saw nothing this time. Just the moon playing tricks on your eyes. She thought to herself, a little on edge. How she wished she didn't have to be alone in this dark place.

It was the sound of crashing in the undergrowth, a clumsy bumbling about that indicated someone who didn't know there way about the forest, or who couldn't see. Someone easily mislead. An easy target or mark for her to...play with. A dark smile crossed her face. But first, she would shadow the being to get a sense of just who or what they were.

Soundlessly she flit through the trees, coming up close behind the soq. She quickly noted female, and none to dangerous in appearance, but one couldn't judge by appearances alone. Just take herself for instance. A simple flutter- small, slight, dainty... one might think her completely harmless, at least until they encountered her in a dark forest where she was in her element.

But back to the present and the mare bumbling her way along. Another dainty being, one she might have at one time considered like her,but only in times long past. Perhaps she might feel sorry for her, or perhaps it was something else. As it was, Wisp didn't feel like harming the mare, just rattling her a little.

So she plotted and planned and followed. Waiting for just the right moment.

There was something here. She didn't believe in supernatural beings...or did she? She didn't know. She hadn't thought about it until now, hadn't considered that it might have been something she had believed in before. All she knew was that right now ghosts seemed very real, and if they were real this would be the place to find them. The flash of white kept appearing, but never close or long enough for her to identify it as a ghost or as a physical creature. So she ignored it to the best of her ability, trying to get herself to calm down.

She pressed on through the eery trees, hoping to find a clearing to stop in for the night. She didn't like the idea, but she also didn't like the idea of continuing on and becoming more and more frantic by the white thing following her. After a bit more stumbling and struggling her wish was finally granted. The clearing was small and lit by dim moonlight, and she circled it for a moment to make sure it was safe. Letting out a sigh, she finally stopped for the night.

As the mare grew more and more spooked, she became less interesting a target, so she fell back just a little. Enough to allow her to calm down. To grow confident again, to start and grow slightly complacent. She let her feel safer. Watching with a cynically amused smile as the mare patrolled the edges of the clearing she drew back into deeper shadow. Let her feel comfortable and safe, for now. She wouldn't soon enough.

She waited until the mare had reached that state between wakefulness and sleep, when the mind and and body are more susceptible to manipulation. She waited until the mare's eyes drifted shut then began to make a soft moaning cry, and standing just so at the edge of the clearing, looking like something straight out of a dream.

Isi's ears perked and her eyes snapped open at once at the noise. Was someone in trouble? No, it sounded more sad than anything. The moaning sent chills throughout her body, causing her to shift uncomfortably on her feet. "Who's there? I...I can help you! I think..." she wasn't sure if she could help. The moan sounded so pitiful. She wondered if it was someone from her past life who she had hurt.

"Do...do I know you?" she asked, moving towards the sounds despite her better judgement. If this being was connected to her somehow, she had to know. "Hello?" she peeped, then she saw the white mare. "Oh...hello!" she called, stepping closer. It was only another mare. She didn't look nearly as pitiful as she sounded. Isi took comfort in that, but still wondered what was wrong. Was she dreaming?

How amusing… this weak creature actually thought that she, She, of all creatures might need assistance. How droll. She was so weak and pathetic really, how could she expect to help… Perhaps she might be one to lead astray in the night, not that it would be too difficult. Not even requiring much effort on her part. After all, she did have a deceptively….petite and fragile looking frame. She would just have to play up her pathetically weak flutter blood.

And oh how she hated that part of herself. She had always felt that the gods must have been playing a terrible joke on her, to place such a fierce spirit in a body incapable of doing it justice. Aw well, c'est la vie. She would make the most of it. After all, being weak meant she had to be more intelligent and crafty than if she had been born with the strength and brawn to back her desires and compulsions up.

She gave another moan. It was better to overact in situations such as this. When she got her first real view of the mare, she wasn't overly disappointed, in fact, it was all she could do not to smile. Or wiggle in happy anticipation, she was almost too perfect. She would be a perfect subject for the prank she had in mind.

'If.. if you please, I think… I think I'm lost. I don't, This area seems so unfamiliar,' she pitched her voice lower, and added a pause here and there as if she were scared, she fluttered her wings slightly as if agitated in order to assist in her illusion. 'I don't… If it's not too much trouble, could you help me find my way? I believe I'm … Lost.'

She absolutely despised playing the part of a weak damsel in distress, but if she read the situation right, this would be the best ruse for her to use on this mare.

Isi gazed upon the flutter with a pitiful expression, one that was filled with empathy and understanding. "I...I'm lost too. I don't know where I am...or even who I am," she said sadly, wishing she could be more help, "Maybe...maybe we can help each other? I'll try to help you find your way home. Which direction did you come from?" she asked, stepping closer to the other.

Thinking about it, she didn't really know which way she had come from herself. The dark night around them was twisting things out of shape and moving positions of things around in her mind. She sighed hopelessly. Well, at least she wasn't alone.

And it felt so good not to be alone. Not only was it comforting to have some company in the dark, but it was also reassuring that she was not the only lost individual in the world. "My name is Isi Anowa. What's your name?" she asked kindly.

The best lies were based in some sort of truth, and the truth was truly that she was lost. She was a ghost much like her name would suggest. She had no memories of who she once was or where she came from, but really, it made no real difference to her. Memories were just a hinderance. Who she was now was a blank slate, and she could morph into whatever character she felt was needed. Though the elements that stayed the same no matter what part she played was her disgust in her breed, her need to be strong and the part of her that was the trickster.

The current part she had to play was nauseating. It went against everything she knew to be true about herself. But it was an act. And in the end, it would be worth it. It just had to be. With a mental shake to get her back into character she considered the other mare's words carefully trying to decide how to respond. How vulnerable she would need to be…. And where the nearest creepy place to leave her might be.

She could see the other mare starting to get nervous. Could see the pulse fluttering in her neck, the swallowing… this would be all too easy. And fortunately for her there was a dark clearing nearby that was deceptive, with roots and pits covered with a judicious layer of leaves and detritus. It also offered ways for her to disappear like… well a ghost. She could not wait to see how this… Isi reacted to her plans and plots.

She struggled to keep the smile off her face and out of her voice as she answered. 'Wisp. They call me Wisp.'

She looked around. ' I believe I came from that way,' she gestured vaguely off to the left. ' So I don't think I want to return that way…. Perhaps to the right, there? Maybe?'
