Arachne nervously twisted the ends of her hair around her fingers as she stood outside Sepheran's dorm room. She'd been standing there for several minutes just gathering the courage to knock on the door, and she'd almost walked away a few times. It was handy that she'd grown her hair out, it gave her hands something to fiddle with when she was anxious, and she consciously had to stop, running her hands through the long red strands, breathed out, and knocked twice.
Of course if he wasn't actually in she'd have come here and gotten worked up all over nothing but she hoped he was. At least there would be no one watching if he simply told her to go away again, no one to witness any scene that might happen.
She hoped he wouldn't, that she could explain and apologise for leaving without a word, and that above all she could be in his life again. She could not imagine the boil being that cruel however, but she was nervous, and so her mind was throwing up all kinds of worse case scenarios.

The sound of shifting objects in the room sounded for a moment after the sound of a knock. What was once a fairly empty room now held quite a few books. One would say it was odd to find books in a room where the owner could not see well, but then again they wouldn't know much about Sepheran. Even with the loss of most his eyesight the basilisk boil would not let it get the better of him, after all if he couldn't read how did he get through classes?
It was all thanks to his ever faithful Liannan who curled against Sepheran's arm, her new favorite perch. She hissed slightly and shuffling ensued as if the being in the room was suddenly very hurried. A small crash could be heard before the door finally opened revealing a much different Sepheran in looks then Arachne would have remembered before she left.
The boil before her looked much more mature, having more sophisticated garbs and displaying his hair up partially instead of fully down, his crown bigger and more detailed. Foggy eyes flicked left and right, "Arachne?! Is that you out there?" Sepheran questioned before patting his clothes slightly, which had gotten tousled as he had rushed to the door.

'Oh I'm sorry..' Arachne started to say. Clearly she'd gone to the wrong dorm room in her anxiety to see Sepheran, although the voice stopped her, and as her eyes flickered over this different-than-expected looking boil she caught sight of his snake companion where she was coiled around his arm.
'Sepheran?' she exclaimed, and she reached out to catch hold of his arm, her fingers tugging on his sleeve.
'Sepheran!' she repeated his name, happy and yet saddened in a way to see him so, so grown up. He had gone up a year whilst she had been absent, and now she lagged behind him.
'You look, I mean..' she stumbled on her words and then finally said what she properly wanted to say.
'You look very handsome. May I..may I come in?' she added, quite unable to fully take in that he had changed, but could she have expected everything to stay the same in her absence? A foolish thought really.

Sepheran blinked a moment for before smiling a soft grin on his face feeling the tug on his sleeve. He blushed lightly when she mentioned that he looked handsome. "Thanks, and you look as radient as always yourself," the baskilisk replied before sliding an arm around Arachne's waist and puling his into a hug. "I've missed you..." he stated softly in her ear before pulling away. "Oh! Yes of course, where are my manners? Come on in...pardon the mess though I was just sorting through some books..." Sepheran stated as he moved back to open the door. The room itself still held the similar feel to when Arachne had been there before, the main pieces of furniture still in their usual places, however strewn about the floor past his bad laid a good 100 or so books scattered into random piles, some open and closed, others holding up things. Liannan uncurled herself from Sepheran stretching her white head towards Arachne giving a soft friendly hiss and a flick of her tounge in greeting as the ghoul entered the room.

'I missed you too.' she replied, taken by surprise by the hug from the boil but pleasantly so, and she hugged him back tightly before her let go, her throat tightening and tears threatening.
Arachne hadn't allowed herself to cry too much since coming back to school, but being with someone who cared had bought them forth and she swiped at her eyes as she followed him inside, looking at the vast array of books laid out on his floor.
'It's okay,' she said, trying to keep her sniffing to a minium, ferreting out a tissue from her jacket pocket and wiping her face. She smiled damply at Liannan;
'Good to see you too Liannan.' she cast around for a bin for the tissue but couldn't see one and instead balled it up in a fist.
'How've you been?' she asked Sepheran, trying to draw attention away from herself but she knew she'd have to explain anyway, explain why she'd vanished without a word.

Sepheran pretended to ignore Arachne's sniffing, even if he could see her tears he was able to tell she was holding it back and did not want to force her further so chose to ignore it, just as he chose to ignore her having vanished without telling him. She would tell him when she was ready, he knew that, forcing her would only make things worse and he was a very patient boil. He smiled lightly and moved to the bed patting it as a sign to have her sit, wanting to calm her down a bit. He allowed her to change the subject to him. "I've been...well...it's been hard at school. I witnessed the fall of the most beautiful place I have ever been, I only wish I could have seen the full beauty before the humans destroyed it..." Sepheran admitted lightly. "But I've grown stronger and I won't see any of my friends harmed...especially you Arachne," the baskilisk stated turning slightly to hide a faint blush on his pale skin. "If you ever need me, I'll be right there by your side," he added softly.

Arachne took a seat next to him on his bed, her cheeks colouring at being so close to him and on his bed. She wanted to lean against him, or just place a hand on his, but she wasn't so changed that she could be that bold, and she thought she'd been away too long to assume she could do something like that. For all she knew he'd found himself a ghoulfriend whilst she was away.
'I wish I had been there with you.' she said softly, remembering the trip the students had taken and how she'd gotten close to Sepheran whilst they were on it. As scary as it had been, for that it had been worth it.
'I always thought you strong.' she looked up and into his eyes, and then burst into tears, his sweet words finally bursting the dam.
'I'm..sorry.' she hiccupped between sobs, covering her face, trying to stem the flood with the already soggy tissue. The demoness felt terribly pathetic, and was sure the boil must think the same, but she had to explain.
'I left without a word, and it was terrible of me.' she lowered her head. 'I had to go though..it was my Grandmother, she, she..was dying. There wasn't time to tell anyone, my mother kept me in the dark, and when she eventually told me...I just had to get home.'

Sepheran felt a twinge of pain when Arachne burst into tears, the boil did not like hearing the sorrowful cried of his loved one beside him. He could hear her try to explain and when she spoke about her grandmother the basilisk could not hold back any more. He reached over and wrapped his arms around Arachne pulling her to his chest hugging her tightly as if to chase all that made her sad away. Reaching up he gently stroked her hair as Liannan slithered close to nuzzle her own head against the ghoul's face. "Shhh, it's okay Arachne I understand, I'm not mad, I don't think any less of you. I wish I could have helped you though it, I know how close you were to your grandmother, but I know just as well why you did what you did. It's okay love," he stated gently pulling her head back slightly to give a soft kiss on her forehead (for he was not bold enough to try anything more) His pale fingers moved to gently wipe away the ghoul's tears. "I'll always be here if you need me, I'll wait as long as you need me too. As long as you'll be there in the end that's all I would ever want,"CitrusCupcake Sorry to take so long >.<

Arachne cried into Sepheran's shoulder, feeling nothing for the moment but gratitude. Grateful that absence had not hurt their relationship, grateful that he was kind and forgiving, for despite what he said, she still felt bad about leaving him without a word. Eventually her tears slowed, and then stopped, and she could speak again.
His words, his actions and the gentle kiss..even though she'd turned into a soggy mess, she could not have imagined a reunion that could have shown her more perfectly how he felt.
'I needed you. I wish you had been there, I think I was scared though.' she let out a little hiccup, catching hold of the hand that had tried to wipe away the torrents from her cheeks. She squeezed his fingers, and gave him a puffy, watery smile.
'Scared of being less than I thought I should be. I'm not the same ghoul that I was before she died. I don't care about demonic pride, or putting up a front anymore. I want to make my Grandmother proud, and I want..I want to be with you.' she kissed his hand, and hugged him again.
'I also..want a tissue.' she said with a slight giggle, pulling back from the hug, realising she was still a bit of a soggy mess. Taska Neko That's okay, especially as you made me go 'd'awww' at the post XD

Sepheran just sat there letting Arachne cry into his shoulder, patiently and gently soothing her until she could speak once more. When she took hold of his hand and squeezed gently he gave a soft smile, enjoying her warm touch on his skin. He listened to her talk about how scared she was and how she was going to make her Grandmother proud now. He smiled, "I'm sure your Grandmother is already very proud of you, and I will always be with you Arachne, for as long as you want me by your side," he stated softly tightening the hug slightly before chuckling hearing her mention a tissue. "I should have one around here someplace...usually it's by my bed but my room has been in such a mess lately..." Sepheran stated pulling back slightly. "Let's see...Liannan you see a green box around here someplace?" Sepheran question his own foggy white eyes darting left to right, though it was pointless as they could only make out blurriness. Maybe if it had been a different color he could find it easier but most of the items in his room were green so everything just seemed to blend together...

'Always..I like the sound of that.' Arachne said, keeping one of her hands firmly wrapped around his. She gave it a squeeze, for the moment not wanting to let go, fearing that if she did, it would turn out to be a wonderful dream that she would wake from and find herself alone again.
She looked around as well, searching amongst the array of green for something that looked like a tissue box, eventually locating it, extracting a couple of tissues and attended to her damp, puffy, tear stained face.
That done, she squeezed back close to Sepheran, not forgetting to give Liannan a fond, though gentle pat on the head. Arachne let out a long low sigh, the breath escaping as she felt the relief of letting all her pent up emotions out.
'Thank you..for being here. For caring. For letting me cry all over your shoulder.' she looked at the boil, and then leaned in, planting a kiss on his cheek. It was all she felt comfortable doing yet, and she didn't want to do anything to make him feel uncomfortable either.
Her cheeks were flushed red when she pulled back and she hid her face in a tissue until she felt the warmth dying down. She felt a tiny bit tongue tied now, which might have been for the best as she had felt the urge to drop three more tiny words..

Sepheran smiled lightly, enjoying the feeling of Arachne's hand in his. He lightly laced his fingers with hers as if to entangle them together so they would never have to part. He wanted to protect her, protect her from anything that would make her cry like she had been. So that she would always smile and would never again shed a tear in sorrow and pain. He knew it was silly, but that didn't stop him from wanting to do so. Sepheran tilted his head slightly when Arachne spoke again of being there for her he tilted his head ready to respond when he felt her soft lips brush against his cheek. Suddenly his words seemed to stick to his throat, lucky that Arachne hid her own face from him for his own pale face was cherry red. The basilisk boil turned his own head, though a smile shone on it. He nodded softly and made a muffled "Uunn" sound in agreement. Certainly not the most graceful words he could utter, though the boil did squeeze Arachne's hand once more, hoping his feelings would shoot from his body into hers through the contact of their hands. To tell her just how much he cared for her...how much he loved her.

'Oh Sepheran.' she said, giggling and hugging him again, her tears dried up now, her heart impossibly light, in a way that she would never have believed possible when she had been standing outside his dorm room, waiting for him to let her in.
His flustered response to her kiss on his cheek had pretty much mirrored her own, and she was glad of it, glad that he was sweetly shy at such a show of affection; she hoped it meant he'd never had proper kiss as she wanted to be the one to do that. She'd worried he'd moved on, found another ghoul - he was too handsome and kind not to be loved after all - but she'd been lucky, very lucky and she was determined not to squander it.
'I hope..I mean, I'd like..I mean are we?' she stammered, having let him go from the hug, but not from her fingers, which still clutched his hand. Arachne knew she wasn't making sense, and that had definately been a most garbled sentence, but how did one ask another if they were ghoulfriend and boilfriend?
