Name: unknown Alias: " Kold", "Korudo Kororu" Age: 525 Height: 6' 1" Race: Toukan Homeland: unknown Occupation: Co-Manager of the Lunar Hope Personality: Kold is a generally friendly and laid back person, and treasures the simple joy of the company of good friends. He tends to be quiet and cautious around strangers; giving them the benefit of the doubt, but also watching them carefully. Despite his youthful appearance, Kold can often come off like an old man. He makes observations that others tend to miss, and has the aura of "seasoned warrior" about him, and it's clear that he's experienced a lot during his lifetime. Even so, he can be silly and joke around with the best of them. He can be rather competitive, which leads to several "spars" with Kokujo over who's more skilled, though observers could mistake this as them trying to murder each other. His stubbornness becomes unrelenting persistence in battle. His light-hearted personality and intensity in battle tends to surprise people, not expecting both sets of personality traits in the same person. Those who know him can tell that he hides a great sadness and harbors guilt. He tends to avoid talking about his past, even though it always seems dead-set on coming back to haunt him. Data: Kold's past is so complex and lengthy that it warrants its own separate topic. The abridged version is that Kold is a tragic character whose life has been filled with death and sorrow, with some exceptions. The most notable exception being when he became involved with the Lunar Hope. He made many friends and met his future wife: Kyla Ewens. They fell in love and eventually married, where they live happily together...except when Kold's past comes back to haunt him. Because of this, Kold cherishes the good times as much as possible, and lets the people he cares about know they mean a great deal to him. Noted Powers: - croyomancy - telepathy - psychokinesis Noted Abilities: - super human strength - above-average human speed - incredible persistence and physical endurance Weapons: - Wave Breaker: a Great Sword forged from a dragon fang by his friend Icis Tiger. It's spellbound to him, so he can summon it from anywhere. Kold can wield this with ease, swinging it like it was made of cardboard, despite dragon fangs being heavy and durable. - Sohi: a Katana forged by Kyla Ewens, made specifically for him. The sword has a blue gem on the end with a piece of Kyla's soul in it, so that no matter what happened he'd have a part of her with him always. Its special ability is to be able to cut through barriers. This is Kold's weapon of choice. Fighting Style: Kold's fighting style shifts between tactical ranged ninjutsu techniques, close ranged battoujutsu swordplay, cryomancy, or a combination depending on the circumstances. He often opens a fight with ranged ice-based techniques, as well as utilizing mists and haze to handicap the opponent's senses. He'll strike at weak points with calculated, multilayer techniques to gauge his opponent's skill and create openings. If those tactics are unnecessary, pointless, or less effective...he'll attack with ice-based sword attacks. He uses battoujutsu (drawing, slashing, then sheathing), often only drawing the blade to attack because it's high damage and high speed techniques at the same time. Kold only draws out battles if he needs to gather information, and tends to try and end fights as quickly as possible. While many of his attacks are planned, his quick thinking from battle experience and excellent reaction time allows him to improvise well if necessary. Trivia:- Despite his level of fitness, he absolutely has a weakness for junk food...particularly pepperoni pizza. He also enjoys absurdly spicy foods. - Every morning he has frost stubble on his chin, but it always melts and evaporates before he wakes up, so he's never aware of this. - Kold is adept at making frosty treats, though he'll occasionally prank people with "lemon" snow cones. - He's an avid video game enthusiast. - Kold is rarely ever seen not wearing sunglasses, even at night.

Name: Kokujo Atradeus Alias: N/A Age: 1525 Height: 5' 10" Race: Mystic Occupation: Disgruntled Shadowmancer Personality: Reserved and anti-social most of the time, Kokujo prefers to keep to himself. He has little tolerance for most people and can often come across as cold or mean to those less familiar with him. Almost always carrying a serious, all-business attitude, it can be very hard to get Kokujo to express many other emotions. Despite this stoic exterior, it has been proven that Kokujo does care for those close to him, and has an extremely strong sense of justice and of duty towards those few he truly accepts as friends. As time goes on, Kokujo has been seen to have opened up more to others, though breaking through the tough conditioning of his past is certainly not a simple thing, even if deep down he may want to. For now, there is still much about himself that Kokujo hides from the world. Perhaps one of his chief vices is his powerful sense of pride. Like most emotion, he hides it well, but his proud nature often shows through when provoked. This pride has been proven strong enough at times to cloud his usual cold, calculating approach to situations. Data: A surviving remnant of an ancient shadowmancer clan known as the Atradeus, Kokujo is a descendant of the very creators of shadow magic. He has spent most of his life honing and developing the complex art of manipulating the shade to his bidding, and with study of the arcane. Partially possessed by the entity known as "Corbenik" some time ago, Kokujo spent many years pursuing the collapse of Gaia into darkness before finally being freed by the people of the Lunar Hope. Though allied by circumstance at first, over the years and adventures Kokujo developed a strong bond with the residents of the Lunar Hope, and has become a valuable companion in their adventures. Previously thought to be the middle child of Kokujin Atradeus, the 2nd head of the Atradeus clan, it became known that Kokujo is infact a biological clone of Kokujin himself. According to Kokujin, he was meant to be akin to a fail-safe for Kokujin, but it's still not fully known what part Kokujin intends him to play in whatever dark plots he's hatched. For this, and many years of past conflict between them, Kokujo harbors a great deal of hatred for Kokujin, and has made it clear that his primary goal is to destroy Kokujin for good. Noted Powers: - Shadow magic - Arcane spellcraft - Limited pyromancy - Holy magic - Atradeus "Cursed Eye" in his right eye. Noted Abilities: - Superior agility - Right arm is prosthetic, and can be used to augment Kokujo's physical strength - Skilled archer - Collected knowledge of many arcane related subjects Weapons: - The Gokumune The polar opposite of the Masamune, this katana is capable of cutting light and was used by Kokujo many times in the past after he got it via a deal with the members of the Lunar Hope. This weapon was smashed in battle some time ago, It's unknown how far Kokujo has come with repairs to it. - Oblivion Bow Once known as the Oblivion Blade, the black katana owned by Kokujin, it was transformed into a black, bladed bow upon passing to Kokujo and was used in place of the Gokumune. With it Kokujo can fire energy arrows of varying effects and sizes. It can also absorb and re-channel energy, but requires a "cool down" time afterwards. - Mechanical Claw/Particle Cannon Kokujo's mechanical arm sports a nasty set of razor sharp metal claws on the end which Kokujo often uses in close for quick, powerful attacks, the arm itself is often used for blocking incoming attacks. The interior also houses a powerful particle cannon capable of devastating blasts. Though it is of use to him, Kokujo despises his mechanical arm, being a constant reminder of the reason why he lost his real arm. - Southern Cross Kokujo's new weapon, a large shuriken that he keeps on his back. It is unknown where this new weapon came from but Kokujo can use it to great effect, putting great force behind each throw and seeming to possess the ability to control it's movements, even summon it back to himself. Fighting Style: - Kokujo takes a very strategic, patient approach to combat. Often preferring indirect methods of attack that meld well with his chosen school of magic. It's common to see him combining multiple techniques and forms of attack in order to take the enemy by surprise or lower their guard for a decisive blow. He is extremely flexible, and can transition from one style of combat to another very quickly, much like the shapeless shadows he employs. he never goes into battle without a plan, and always has a few tricks up his sleeve.

Name: Kyla Ewens Age: 30 Height: 5' 8'' Race: Neko (cat person) Occupation: Warrior and the proprietor of The Lunar Hope Cafe/Bar/and Battle Arena. History: A being called Yokoshima manipulated the events that lead to Kyla's birth. He conspired with Lady Ruby of the Toukan, who seduced Feral Ewens of the Neko tribe that Yokoshima himself created. Lady Ruby claimed that she had been raped, and this was the catalyst for the war which would eventually wipe out both the Neko and Toukan, which was Yokoshima's goal. The moment Kyla was born, Lady Ruby ordered a Toukan guard to take the newborn into the forest and murder her. While attempting to carry out this order, the guard was ambushed by Kyla's father, Feral Ewens. Feral knew that he could not raise Kyla, so he protected her instead.
He left Kyla with the Neko tribe's most important treasure. An item that Yokoshima himself could not truly control. The moon goddess Lunaris had taken pity on the Neko tribe, and sent them an avatar of herself in the form of "The Golden Lioness". The golden lioness presented the tribe with a mask. When worn by the most powerful member of the tribe, the mask would bestow the wearer amazing power and abilities, according to the personal strength of the individual wearing it. The more powerful the individual, the more they would be able to use its power in the manner that suited them best. Feral activated the mask, which took the form of a large white egg, and it surrounded Kyla, closing her inside. While inside the egg, she was shielded even from Yokoshima's sight, but she continued to grow. At the age of 22, she awoke in the forest, released from the mask's sheild, with nothing but the mask itself, and the knowledge of her own name.
Confused and lost, Kyla wandered out of the forest in rags, and found herself in front of the Von Helson mansion in Durem. The Gaians were celebrating the country's 2nd Anniversary. Hoping to get some information, Kyla wandered inside. She was bewildered and intrigued by the people there. She met a woman named Syren who seemed very enthusiastic and friendly. After the party, she explored some other towns, hoping to learn something of her past. It was then that she was captured by slavers who were selling animal people at an auction. Kyla was disgusted with this treatment, and during the auction, she attacked her captors and escaped. At that moment, Kyla determined that she would not allow herself to be a weak person. She vowed to live a happy life and make a good future for herself, even if she could not remember her past.
Kyla made her way to Gaia's commerce and found a shop called the Neko Noodle Hut. The owners were kind girls who hired Kyla as a waitress on the spot, and even gave her a room. Kyla soon discovered that she was quite good in the kitchen, and the regulars at the Noodle Hut were nice people.
One day, while working, a bright light appeared and a blue catlike creature appeared in front of Kyla. It appeared to want to be Kyla's pet, so she named him Colby. Colby had the power to teleport people from place to place, and to send out waves of energy that could sooth others. He could also communicate psychically with Kyla, though she was the only one he could talk to, and he generally said very little.
One day, Syren, the woman Kyla had met at the party walked in. She and Kyla were happy to see each other again, and Kyla was invited to visit Syren's group, called "The Guardians of Gaia", a group of heroes dedicated to helping Gaia. Kyla decided to visit, and it was here that she would meet two people who would become very important to her, though she wouldn't have known it then. Kold and Kokujo.
When Kyla entered the Guardians of Gaia HQ, she was so excited that she slid across the floor on her tummy with Colby on her back...and she slid right into the boots of a tall, somewhat intimidating, blue clad individual named Kold. After a brief introduction, Kold left, and the two would not speak again for several months, when Kold began to frequent the Noodle Hut. Kokujo on the other hand, was a villain who hung around the G.O.G. pestering the heroes making threats to anything and everything...particularly cute animals. Kyla made a mental note not to trust this guy. He was also frequently in the company of someone named Isilvara, who seemed none too heroic herself.
Kyla decided that she would remain friends with the members of the G.O.G, but she wasn't sure if she really wanted to be a hero. It was around this time that she met Neo_Genesis_Calm, a fellow cat person who would later turn out to be a "humanoid" star, Icis_Tiger and her husband Baka_Sempai, who were also fellow cat people, and JungleThunda, also known as Kat, who was a fun energetic girl who frequently entered the Lunar Hope by zooming in on a clarinet that shot out rainbows. And then Kyla met Alec, an angel.
Alec and Kyla hit it off instantly, and she began to look forward to his frequent visits. Kyla was finally enjoying life.
Then, very suddenly one day, a cursed hat appeared on Kyla's head. It appeared with a voice which warned Kyla that she would be forever at the mercy of "Lady Ruby". Kyla was unaware, that this was actually her mother. For the first few days, the hat caused Kyla to feel intense pain. For the last few days, the hat gave Kyla the appearance of a disgusting rotting zombie, making her feel alienated from her new friends. Colby also explained to Kyla that Lady Ruby lived on a moon, where she had enslaved all of the other Myu, and that part of the reason Colby had escaped was to try and find someone who would help him free his people.
Kyla refused to be weak, and decided that she would start training and take up the path of a warrior. She didn't want to rely only on other people protecting her, and she didn't want anybody to take away the happiness she had found. So she began training with a fire gauntlet and an ice gauntlet with the goal of traveling to wear Lady Ruby was and defeating her. Alec offered to accompany Kyla on this journey, and they admitted their feelings for each other.
As she trained, her friends helped her with sparring. Particularly Icis and Kold. Kold even offered to take Kyla on as a student, to which Kyla refused because she preferred to develop her own style. Before having Colby transport herself and Alec to the moon where Lady Ruby apparently was, Kold gave Kyla a helm as a good luck charm. In turn, she gave her friend the headband that she always wore, telling him that she'd come back for it. Then Icis presented Kyla with a precious gift. A hand crafted blade called "The Lunar Hope". It was magnificent, and Kyla promised to treat it with care.
When they reached Lady Ruby's moon, the cruel woman appeared and fought Kyla and Alec. Just as Kyla ran Lady Ruby through with the Lunar Hope sword, Ruby grinned and revealed that she was in fact Kyla's mother. Colby transported everyone home, and Kyla was distraught. Not only had she just killed her own mother, her own mother had very much wanted Kyla to die. It was difficult, but Kyla eventually came to terms with this.
Soon after these events, a man showed up at the Noodle Hut and challenged Kyla to a spar. After a bit, it became clear that the man intended to kill Kyla. It turned out, that the man was Kyla's half-brother Raiden. Raiden had been born a few years after Kyla, and Lady Ruby had sent him away before the Neko and the Toukan destroyed each other. Raiden had trained himself in various skills and vowed to destroy anyone from the Neko tribe. After learning of his mother's death, he tracked down Kyla and swore to carry out his mother's orders to kill her. Kyla was eventually able to get Raiden to see reason, and understand that what Lady Ruby wanted, and that what Raiden wanted didn't have to be the same thing. Finally realizing that they were the only family that either of them had left, Kyla and Raiden resolved their dispute.
A short time after this, Kyla decided to create a business of her own. She wanted to create an inn and tavern with an arena where warriors could test themselves. She had a beautiful tower constructed, complete with a golden crescent moon spire on its roof. She also plunged the Lunar Hope sword into the ground within a secret room constructed in the tower's basement. This room contained no doors or windows, and was only accessible if a person knew it was there, and could teleport into it. The sword worked in conjunction with the spire, creating a powerful protection spell which allowed the tower to reconstruct itself, no matter how much it might be damaged. This meant that the building could never be destroyed. Kyla decided to name the place after the blade itself, and thus The Lunar Hope was born.

Name: Storm Rider Raiden Age: 25 Height: 6' Race: Changeling Occupation: Summoner
Story: Raiden is the son of Lady Ruby of the Toukan, and an as yet unnamed Toukan warrior. Raiden was sent away to train before the war that would wipe out the Toukan and a Neko tribe, and he was under orders from his mother to destroy any Neko person he should ever run across.
He learned many skills, though mastered none. One day, he heard rumors of his mother's death, and tracked her supposed killer to The Neko Noodle Hut. The killer turned out to be a Neko, and Raiden's own half sister Kyla Ewens. At first he attempted to kill Kyla, but eventually realized that Kyla had been forced into the situation, and that she was his only family. They resolved their differences and have been close since.
Shortly after this, Kyla opened the Lunar Hope, and Raiden moved in. He focused his studies on enchanting and summoning, though he largely focused on summoning. He became intrigued with the idea of necromancy, despite Kyla's warnings and while studying from a necromancy text, he became possessed by a dark entity, which would later turn out to be Yokoshima.
While possessed, Raiden attacked Kyla and several others. He was only purged at the mercy of angels, who took Raiden's sight as the price for his dabbling in necromancy. A small amount of angelic power was left within Raiden to keep him from being corrupted again, because a small part of whatever had possessed him, still remained within him. The angelic power became the source of Raiden's magical abilities.
Raiden remained blind until he participated in the rescue of his sister, Kyla. A corrupted angel had captured her, claiming that her relationship with another angel was a terrible sin. Raiden was forced to fight Kyla, and when he allowed himself to be fatally wounded, the uncorrupted angels took pity on him and restored him to life, along with his sight. Although, since his body was remade, he was no longer a Toukan, however the well of angelic power, and the traces of whatever had once possessed him still remained.
When Yokoshima appeared to the Lunar Hope crew, he used his influence over Raiden and kidnapped him. The corruption which was left over from Raiden's possession allowed Yokoshima to use Raiden as a puppet. The corruption was on a very deep level, and it was impossible for Raiden to resist. There are massive gaps in Raiden's memory from this time. He can vaguely remember being subjected to various torture and experiments, though he can't remember much. When asked, he just describes darkness, fear, and pain.
Yokoshima even sent Raiden to the Lunar Hope under the ruse that Raiden had escaped, and forced Raiden to attack the group, driving what threatened to be a permanent wedge between Raiden and his friends. This all came to a peak when Yokoshima resurrected Lady Ruby and sent Raiden to assist her. Raiden had to choose who to protect, and in standing up for Kyla, he seemed to break through some of the hold that Yokoshima had on him, though this left Raiden with bright purple scars all over his body. The scars would burn at times, as a constant reminder from Yokoshima that if he chose, he could control Raiden again. Lady Ruby was taken by Lunaris into the realm of deities, where the moon goddess promised to watch after the now mad Lady Ruby.
After this, Raiden began to refine his summoning abilities. He would summon minor and sometimes major deities and form agreements with them. The deity would assist Raiden, but the summoner would sustain any damage that was dealt. During this time, one of Raiden's spells misfired and transformed his entire head into a robot head. What seemed to be a simple accident would change Raiden forever. The spell would actually begin to warp Raiden's DNA permanently.
During one Halloween, the Zurg attacked, and Raiden found himself changed into a Zurg. He figured that, like many Gaians, the Zurg had done this to him, but it was his own DNA which had forced the transformation. Thus began Raiden's long and arduous identity crisis.
Raiden began a relationship with a time goddess named Chrona. This was fairly short lived though, because Raiden found himself unsatisfied. He went to the Zurg and asked to adopt a Zurg child to raise as a son. This went well for a time, but eventually, the Zurg discovered that Raiden's DNA was not that of an actual Zurg. They demanded the child back, and Raiden could do nothing to stop it.
Filled with self doubt, eventually, Raiden did some soul searching and came to one conclusion about himself. He was attracted to men. Realizing this did much to restore Raiden's confidence, and he began dating a man named Orion. The two would remain together for some time. He also gained the blessing of Lunaris, who presented him with a scythe which he could use for summoning.
One day, Raiden's appearance changed yet again, to that of a blue troll, with long red furred ears and a tail. This time Raiden had no idea why he had changed, and finally discovered that the backfired spell had turned him into some kind of changeling, and that he was actually transforming himself without being aware of it. He remained trollish for quite a while, before really sitting down and thinking about how he saw himself.
Eventually, Raiden gained control over his appearance shifting, but settled on a "permanent" look. That of a dark skinned elf with pointed ears, a bull-like tail, and spiked red hair. He still changes his look from time to time, but tends to remain in this form.
Raiden also decided that he needed more power, to protect himself, Orion, and all of his friends and family. He decided to seek out a treasure called Ashura's Soul Gem, rumored to be a powerful relic of the god of destruction, Lord Ashura. After passing through several trials, Ashura accepted Raiden and granted him the Soul Gem, on the condition that Raiden would make Ashura his patron god instead of Lunaris. Raiden agreed to this.
When the Lunar Hope crew decided to seek out Yokoshima and defeat him once and for all, Raiden realized that he was not nearly strong enough. Orion had insisted on joining the group, and though it was one of the hardest things Raiden had to do, he ended the relationship. He knew that Orion would be able to do very little against such a powerful enemy, and would rather protect him than see his loved one harmed. After ending the relationship, Raiden discovered that Orion had recovered fairly easily from the break up.
This was probably the lowest point in Raiden's life. Trying to lift his spirits, Lord Ashura gave Raiden some special training with the Soul Gem, helping the summoner to unlock the treasure's power. Though he was able to master much of its power, during a mishap in training, Raiden was nearly killed and though Ashura stepped in to protect him, Raiden ultimately came to a disturbing realization. Despite having a handle on his power, and having won back the respect of his friends and family, he was still filled with self doubt. While everyone else still had a clear reason to defeat Yokoshima and return home, Raiden felt that he had very little left to live for. He would go to fight alongside his friends, but they would be unaware of the deep sadness that Raiden was now burdened with. Yokoshima's scars still burn him, though he has long since learned to resist them. He is always reminded that Yokoshima has some sort of hold over him. Raiden is determined to destroy Yokoshima to protect those he cares about, but as the fight against his greatest adversary draws closer, Raiden knows that should he need to sacrifice himself to save the others, he would gladly do so, as he feels he has the least to return home to. He has his friends and family and an identity, but he feels so without purpose. He keeps this sadness within himself though.
