Grrel had decided to follow her curiosity and had stalked the Orderite ferry across the ocean as it left Eowyn for Serenia. Exhausted by the long flight, Grrel landed on a sandy beach to catch her breath.
Perhaps there is a reason for that odd mode of transportation, she gasped as she lay spread out on the sun warmed sands. It certainly must be less exhausting than flying all the way! I wonder what it's called?
Once she regained her breath, she stood up and bounded off across the golden sands to explore this new environment. The further she got from the ocean, the colder it was. It was winter in Serenia, and without the warm currents of the ocean the land was covered in ice and snow. It was so different than what she was used to; instead of the brown sand dunes with a scorching sun, there were tall trees everywhere with a gently sun above. She was shocked at how cold it was, and the white powder everywhere, what was it? Having lived in the desert all her life, she had never encountered snow before, was it a new type of sand? Grrel bent her long neck and took a nibble at the white powder. As it melted in her mouth she received another shock,
Water! It's covered in frozen water! .. but how? SHe stared at the amazing scene. To her water was precious and scarce, but here it covered everything! Oh the wonders this new place held!
It was late evening when Grrel came across a dragon. She had heard of the other types of dragons, but had only ever seen Kiandri, Firani, and Ayrala's. This dragon was nothing like any of them, it's sparkling green scales stood out against the white snow and reminded Grrel of the trees that surrounded the precious oasis's in the desert. Another difference about this dragon was the aura if gave off; Grrel's instincts told her to be careful, to not approach. How odd, she thought, Why should I be afraid? I am lightning and I can fight just fine, even if it is much bigger than me....
And so she brazenly stalked forward, her head held high.
The Ysali dragon turned around and hissed, "A Kiandri Drakein?! Get out of here! This is my territory, go back to your desert, you don't belong here!" That was all the warning he gave her. Roaring his displeasure, he charged at her. Grrel was shocked, how rude and barbaric! But she didn't have time to think anymore for he was upon her. She tried her best, but her lightning seemed to be less effective than it normally was and she was too small and dainty to do much damage to him physically. Grrel knew this soon after they engaged in battle, and she began to seek ways to escape. Finally there was an opening and she leaped into the air, furiously beating her wings.
Once into the air, her small size and speed came into their own. She shot out of there, returning to the sandy beach and the cave she had noticed earlier.
Maybe this wouldn't be the pleasure jaunt she had thought when she first stepped out.. the dragon's certainly were more rude here.
