Kadryn was relaxing in the weak sunlight by Lake Tyluafel. After such a long time of being angry and pissed off, Kadryn luxuriated in the happy feelings she felt today. She knew that soon she would have to leave and go train some more with Kral and his mage buddy, but for now she wanted to relax and enjoy the scenery. As she yawned and stretched, she saw a small orange draconian form sauntering around near her. Hmm, never knew Kiandri Dragon's liked the snow, she sleepily thought. A few seconds passed before Kadryn bolted upright. Kiadnri?! Here on Serenia?! But they never left Eowyn! Kadryn reached for her mace as she turned to face the approaching figure. As she shook the sleep from her mind and readied for battle, Kadryn took a good look at the approaching figure. What she saw made her relax a bit; this was no Kiandri Dragon, the wings were orange and not the normal vivid blue, and the eyes and horns were purple... what Kiandri dragon had purple horns? As Kadryn's heart beat began to settle from the shock, Kadryn leaned on her Mace as she watched the odd but beautiful creature continue approaching.

Grrel was out wandering the strange snowy forest. So many new ad exciting things in this land! She was so glad that she'd come here, everything was new and fun.. well except that stupid green Dragon. Grrel came upon a vast lake of ice. While she had heard stories of such things; oasis's of pure fresh water so big you could barely see the other side, she had never seen one herself. The sight of it took her breath away. As she sauntered forward to see more of this beautiful and exotic sight, she noticed a lean blue figure by the bank. One of the strange dragon hunters! I wonder which type it is? I don't think it is Oblivionite because it's not black, which should be good cause I've heard that those are the most blood thirsty... Grrel paused for a moment and then began to slowly meander gracefully towards the reclining figure.
My first encounter on this land was painful, I wonder if this creature will be any different than the Dragon I met? As she approached she saw the figure notice her, and jump up and grab a weapon.
Not good. Perhaps this wasn't a good idea. She thought, then shook her head, No! I am a Drakien! I will not slink away, I will meet this creature head on and see if they are worthy of being treated as something other than prey! And so she stalked forward, head held high. The blue figure seemed to relax a bit and leaned on that dangerous looking spiked mace. Had Grrel calmed it down by approaching slowly and peacefully? Would she finally be able to talk to one of these strange creatures? Grrel felt her heart begin to pound with excitement.

Kadryn watched in admiration as the bronzed orange creature slowly approached. Well this will be interesting, she thought. Having never really had the time to examine and watch a dragon move, she was taken back by how graceful and beautiful they could be.
Kadryn was rather startled by the size of the creature. Her head barley topped the dragonic figure's shoulders. While it had nothing on the huge Dragons that Kadryn had battled, it was still taller than she'd thought, and perhaps larger than the creature that she had observed with Killian on Ayr. When the creature came to halt a few feet away from her and primly sit down and wrap its tail about its feet, Kadryn was reminded more of a cat, the rather prissy marmalade tabby near her house that only came around for food and never when you called.
For a few moments it sat there and stared back at Kadryn. As the silence stretched out Kadryn became uncomfortable, so she nervously cleared her throat and tried to communicate with it. "Ahem... er, Hi? Ah, I... I don't think I've ever sen a Kiandri dragon as small as you about.. certainly not on Selenia..."

Grrel felt so thrilled; here she was, approaching one of those dragon hunters and she wasn't being attacked! She came to halt a safe distance away, and sat down primly, wrapping her tail about her feet to keep them warm. This pale white stuff certainly was cold! As she sat there, she realized she didn't know where to go from here! She'd approached, but how would she be able to converse with the creature? Grrel decided to worry about that in a bit, and checked out the odd two legger in front of her. Long and thin, it had spindly appendages and no wings. And while it looked kinda weak, Grrel could see muscles on that thin body, that and the way it had moved so fast and confidently swinging its weapon made her wary of attacking. It seemed to be completely blue, blue fuzzy looking stuff on its head, blue skin, and blue eyes. Grrel was rather jealous, she wanted blue wings like her larger cousins.... The fuzzy stuff was just a tad duller than that beautiful shade that Grrel so wanted to have...
Her musings were cut short as the two-legger spoke. And she could understand it! Well, guess this must be the reason why my parents taught me this language! It's their tongue... Grrel smiled, her thin scaled lips peeling back slightly from her fangs. So they can converse civilly, how wonderful. "I, Grrel, am not a Dragon, silly two-legger. I am a Drakein, of the family-clan of Srrelliz. Far superior to those stupid muscle bound idiot Dragons. But yes, we normally aren't .. here .. on Selenia? I followed a .. thing that rode the waves from my home desert land. Selenia? A nice name, a rater pretty name for this beautiful if cold land. "Perhaps you can answer some of my questions? " While Grrel hated to seem ignorant, she just had to know! What was this white stuff? How man other lands were there? What was this creatures life like, where'd they live? Why dd they hunt dragons? So many questions, and finally she had access to the answers!

Kadryn was taken back by this.. Drakein. Not only could it talk, it talked like a fancy city slicker from Ashen City. That was certainly entertaining! Kadryn wasn't sure she would be able to talk to some of those fancy city folk without Grrel popping into her mind! It certainly seemed proud of itself too, from what Kadryn could read from the growling voice. And .. if that was a smile, it was the most dangerous smile she had ever seen! Kadryn was nervous when Grrel flashed her fangs in a draconic smile. She knew how badly they could tear and hurt; her should ached just at the memory of the deep bite that had scarred it.
Thing that rode the waves? Oh! The ferry! She must have followed it. Kadryn remembered a conversation she had heard on her last visit to the ferry's port. She had heard some of the men complaining of being tailed by a dragon the whole way. And this creature.. no. Grrel had questions? Well Kadryn had some too!
"Sure I can answer questions, if you don't mind answering some of your own." Kadryn smiled at Grrel, "I'm Kadryn, no clan, though I suppose I could claim my parents family name. I am an Orderite and you are on Selenia, our home land."

Grrel was pleased, a willing voice to answer her questions! She rather liked this. Kadryn's voice. It was husky and light, so very different from the deep rasping voices of her Family Clan. Hmm, why would she not claim a family name? Did her people not place such a high value on family like her people? Fascinating. "A trade in information? That works fine with me. I suppose I have several rather simple questions that will seem silly to you, but I wish to know the answers. What is this white stuff? I know it's water, but how can there be so much of it? Is your land always this chilly? What is that thing that rode the waves? How do you hunt dragons as small and weak looking as you are? Why do you need to hunt dragons" Grrel's eyes sparkled with anticipation as her tail lashed excitedly; how lucky to have found a friendly and talkative person!

What followed that afternoon was a long conversation, both girls asking questions of the others people, lifestyles, food and family. The highlight of the afternoon for Grrel was when Kadryn decided to cook lunch for both of them. Oh the flavors! Before she had always eaten meat raw or slightly charred. But this! Grrel's tongue was in heaven. This skill, cooking, was worth all the aches, bruises and scratches form her journey over here. Grrel was contemplating what she could do to keep eating like this. Would Kadryn be willing to cook for her? Oh if only.
Kadryn spent the afternoon amused at Grrel's questions and responses... especially to her cooking! What cook wouldn't be delighted at that type of reaction! This was so worth missing training with Kral!
As they parted ways in the evening, Grrel managed to convince Kadryn to come back in a weeks time to cook for her...
