But hold me still,
Bury my heart on the cold,
And hold me still,
Bury my heart next to yours.
Bury my heart on the cold,
And hold me still,
Bury my heart next to yours.
Name: Annelie Cox
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Place of Residence: Palisade

Occupation: A maid/cook in a small upper class household.
Music: Clair de Lune -- Debussy
Appearance: Tall at 5'9," and thin, Annelie manages to be willowy while still possessing curves. She has little in the chest, but her shoulders are wide, her hips even more so, and her legs go on for miles.High cheekbones, thin lips, a smooth chin, and a slightly long nose smattered with light freckles make up her oval face. Her skin tone is pale, though definitely not sickly, and very easily turns to bright red if she’s even the most remotely embarrassed. Her hair is near-black in color, naturally thick with huge curls, and falls past her shoulders when she hair pins are taken out.
On her few days off when she's out of her work clothes, Annelie still dresses plainly. There are multiple, obvious reasons, though even if she could afford nice things her practical mind would get involved anyways, so why bother. That said, she keeps to light or undyed dresses, with pale colored jackets of lavender or seafoam. She wears a pair of well worn, brown leather boots, and has an equally worn out pair of gloves as well.
Personality: If Annelie were to be turned into an animal, she'd be a little mouse. Quiet and unassuming, she manages to be a busybody while not making much noise at all, going from room to room, chore to chore, without her employers knowing half the time that they're in the same vicinity. It's appreciated at times, but then there are the few instances when the china clinks, or the tray rattles, and then both parties have a good yelping fest which usually ends with Annelie dropping something while staring like a startled doe. The girl's nerves are certainly not made of steel, and she probably spends 90% of her working life feeling nervous.
Social interaction is not her forte, especially when it's with anyone of higher class or standing. At least she can say more than a few words now to her employers, but she'll still keep 'conversation' short. If she's addressed by any others, well... 'Frazzled' is an accurate adjective in that case. But she's not completely so inept with everyone in life.
Get her around people she knows and she's much more at ease, smiling and even laughing and the like. There's a hidden side to her that's quite dead pan in the sarcasm department, though it's only brought out when she's with her friend Ilmar. He's probably one of the few she'll swear around as well, though she tries to not be crass at any time in life. It's these little things that make the majority of her high-strung days manageable. That and money.
Scrubbing floors and cooking meals isn't something held dear to Annelie, but she stays with the job because it's work, it puts a rood over her head, it's practical. While her real love in life is dancing, and she adores telling stories, she's a woman of a rooted, practical mind when it comes to real life, and to her, one does not simply dance out of poverty.
History:
Emmeline -- Mother -- Works at a small inn.
Antoine -- Father -- Deceased
Bridgid -- Older half-sister -- We don't talk about her.
All in all, Annelie's childhood was fairly normal and uneventful as far as she's been concerned. If one were to wander a bit further back in her family's past, they'd definitely find some things that would blacken her family name. ... but hey, that's why her mother gave Annie a different last name at her birth! Huzzah.
Anyways.
Annelie was born to a loving mother and father, in a small home in the lower Palisades. Money was always tight, food no different, but there were neighbors who became friends, and other children to play with, and with that there couldn't be many complaints. As far as Annie was concerned, the first five years of her life were rosey.
But then her father got ill, and took a turn for the worst, and before Annie turned six he passed away. It hit her hard, but she was still quite young when it happened. Her mother wasn't as lucky, and for some several months she went about in a deep depression. Annelie spent a lot of time at the neighbor's during that time, keeping her own self occupied by playing with Ilmarinen.
That dark time passed eventually though, and her mother started new work at an inn. Annelie would tag along with her, and that's when she started to fall in love with dancing. She told her mother what she wanted to do in life, but with the world being the way that it was, and being raised by a single parent, it didn't take her long to know she couldn't achieve that goal. Her mother told her to try to learn on her own, though, for fun's sake. And she did. She really...really did; Ballroom, traditional folk, singles, doubles, foreign, she knew more than a dozen dances of each type by the time she was 20.
However it was age 20 when she needed to find a more permanent job, and thus she went about getting hired to be a maid in a small upper class household. And well, that's where she's been ever since.
Other stuff: Ilmar's the only one who can make a d**k joke that she'll reply back to.
