He now stopped, his body aching rather badly from the long trek to the lands he could possibly call home. Pale steely blue eyes traces the lands ahead of him as he shook his disheveled mess of a mane, causing the bells that were entwined in his mane to jingle and tinkle softly and his feathers to flutter to and fro, a bit of dust falling from his head to the ground.
Yeah, he was a bit of a mess but he was happy. Constantly fretting over appearance when he was on a mission was like only partially saving a life because he had to eat first. That was just unacceptable behavior.
Smiling to himself, the slightly older lion moved forward. The land of the shrine keepers was ahead, and hopefully there he'd find out more information on them and their culture. From the whispers of other it seemed like something he could get himself into. Even join and settle in. His skills in both medical herbs and healing through speech and spirituality made him an incredible asset to a pride or group.
"With good faith I shall go."

Asa was out today, the female lightly studying the area, a glittering feather earring wspinning in the breeze. Her lone connection from her father.
Still, it was calm, and nice, and she was in no rush to go get a treasure, simply walking to seek anything pretty for one of the others, perhaps to beautify their shrine. She knew she would do well to offer tributes, but, she didn't feel right doing so. No, she preferred showing her respect to others.
The chime of small bells caught her ears this day, and she snapped to clarity, looking about, and stopped, blinking.
"Hello?"

Again he stopped, this time however it was due to the sound of a small voice calling out. Unsure if it was directed at him or another he searched, finding no one other than himself and... squinting he could see another lion, or rather, a lioness.
"Ah! Well hello there dear, I apologize if I startled you." Pausing he decided to move forward towards the lioness, stopping at a respectful distance from her. His gaze was soft and kind while his mood elated at meeting someone so soon.
Perhaps she was part of the Shinekeepers he had heard rumors about? Pava decided to be forward and ask. "Not to be rude, but Miss... Might you be one of the Shrinekeepers?"
He had decided long ago to be a bit forward, but not so much as to be thought of as rude. If you showed respect and care, most took forwardness as a good thing. Some even became less suspicious of him nearly instantly.
"My reasoning for questioning you is because I am interested in learning more of them. You see, I am part of a pilgrimage to find my true home."
Smiling, almost a bit too brightly, he waited finally. Feeling interjecting anything else would be a bit too forward.

Oh! Asa smiled softly, moving towards the male with a smile. Most would be afraid... But Asa didn't think he looked threatening. "I am, yes. It's nice to meet you." She bowed her head modestly, listening with a soft intensity before smiling brighter. "A pilgrimage? Well, how may I help? Oh, forgive me-- My name is Asa. It's a pleasure!" The lioness bowed respectfully, eye gleaming in excitement. A stranger!

"The same can be said for me, Miss." Reflecting her smile back at her, he listened to her with modesty, waiting until she was completely finished speaking before speaking himself.
"They call me, Pava, Miss Asa." Bowing a greeting to her he waited a moment. Looking around once more he looked to the ground then up at her. "May I take a seat in your company?" He had many questions, but both his legs and feet were smarting from the constant motion he put on them. It made standing still incomprehensibly difficult.
"I have some questions for you about your practices," Shifting his legs to take some of the pain out of his joints he continued, "You see, I respect our Deities with as much passion as I have for my own life. They should all be respected, even those with less that fortunate domains."

"Of course! Please, make yourself comfortable. What wopuld you like to know?" Asa smiled, a bit surprised. He was polite! It was refreshing; and the female appreciated the change of pace.

"Well," I started, finally taking a seat and almost immediately feeling a bit better. "I would like to know about your pride. What your beliefs are."
Looking at her, he smiled. "Tell me in your own words. You seem to be knowledgeable. May I ask what you do in the pride, Miss Asa?"

For a moment, Asa was quiet, before speaking softly, slowly. "Well, we offer thanks, offerings... Both for the gods, and asncestors before us." Asa smiled. "I tend to a god's shrine as a priestess of sorts, myself. I keep it neat, and clean for pilgrims." Not that any came. She accepted that, though.

Pava's eyes lit with excitement was the Asa's words. That seemed like just the sort of beliefs he was looking for. Both Gods and those who came before were treated respectfully. It touched a very deep part of his own inner soul and dream.
"This is very exciting news indeed." Nodding to himself and her he glanced out towards where she had came.
"Do you allow visitors such as myself then? I would be more than interested in seeing the shrine you tend to. Along with the others. See." He was now pointing at his mane, the feathers woven into it in particular.
"I wear the feathers of the deities and their chosen creatures, the birds, to honor them where ever it is I go. Perhaps I could offer some of my own prayers and offerings to these shrines for them."

"I do not think it wrong if you come visit." Asa smiled. "We welcome those who wish to offer respect to the gods, the spirits..." She beamed. "I can walk you home, if you like?" The lioness smiled, a little shy as she looked to him. "I'm sure there's no problem if you stay and see if it is what you seek."

"Ah, yes!" Slowly he wobbled to his feet, shaking his legs out one by one. "That would be most appreciated, Miss Asa. I thank you for all your help." Grinning back at her he noted the shyness but decided to say nothing of it. Sometimes, things were better left unsaid.
"I will have to speak with the head of your pride then. Just to be sure, but even seeing the shrines and paying respect will fill me with great gratitude." Waiting for her to guide him, he just had to thank the fates for their smiles. It wasn't every day he had such luck as this. Some times he even got hurt. No, today was very special indeed. The beginning of something new. He was sure of it.

"Oh, it is no problem at all! And I'm certain she would appreciate your curiosity!" Asa smiled, rising a bit. She moved next to him daintily. "Shall we?"

"We shall! Please, lead the way Miss Asa." He smiled brightly as he stood beside her, his heart racing as he thought of all the new curiosities that awaited him in the pride. Maybe this place... Maybe, just maybe, this place would be his final stop.
