Even while being in a new pride Rangi still loved to check out the borders from time to time. He enjoyed meeting the rogues that tended to wander around. Sometimes he even met rogues who were coming to join the pride like he did. The more and more Rangi called the pridelands home the more and more he opened up and became a friendly and inviting lion. In such a pride there was no way anyone could be grumpy and shut in. Everyone was so friendly.

Rangi could tell he was getting close to the edge of the pridelands. The smells tended to change and the different scents of the lion members faded because not many really came to the borders. Rangi liked to though and that was why he was enjoying his time at the borders today.

"Come on, Bluu, we're almost there!" There was a trill in the lioness' voice as she moved through the grass, the brown-green blending in with the grasses. They waved and tickled, as if welcoming them, calling them... The smile on her face was broad, a pride to finally have the confidence to make the steps into the Pridelands and ask to call it home. Bluu had been a godsend for Warrul, just the push she needed. She'd spent her whole life at the border, never confident enough to go in. Now... Now she had a reason. Bluu sought family, and asked her to join him. There was a spring in her step, more befitting a lion half her age.

The male followed right behind her, his own eyes alight with joy. While he initially came off as gruff, the mountain-born lion was really more a jovial sort. His fur had thinned quite a bit after leaving the mountains, something he was thankful for. He was also thankful, he found, for knowing Warrul. Yes, she was much older than he was, but it helped calm his own spirit. She offered a temperance for him, something he didn't find in lionesses more his age. And after all... Why would they seem odd, if there were much older males with much younger females? Was it not a balance to the world? "I don't think we're alone, Warrul..." He lifted his head up, red eyes scanning the area. No, they weren't alone, and he soon spied a brown and white form in the grass. A local, perhaps?

Rangi had his eye open for any creature moving around be it prey or predator. He was on the look out just so he wouldn't be caught by surprise and he wasn't. He spotted the brownish lioness and her grey companion not far from him. They were within the boundaries of the pride be it the very edge so Rangi had to wonder. Were they pride members or rogues?

He had no fear be they rogues or not so the moment he spotted them he started off in their direction. He was feeling socialable today and he was going to greet them. He trotted over with his head high and a happy expression. Once he was close enough he spoke. "Hello! Lovely day isn't it?"

At first, Bluu'kirembo bristled. Growing up in an isolated pride hadn't gone without its marks on him, and he at first didn't quite trust others. But Warrul had already proven that trusting others could be good. It found him close to family, and close to being in a new home. The lioness brushing on his shoulder made his face soften for a moment, before he looked to the other lion. "It is, isn't it? I don't suppose you're the welcome party...?" How fast did word spread that someone wanted to join, exactly? Which led to... How big were the Pridelands?

Brushing past Bluu, the smile on Warrul's face could probably be seen from the sky. "We're looking to join, Bluu and I! I have to admit, I've always wanted to..." She turned and pointed to the border beyond. "I grew up there, outside the border, you see... With my brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews..." Their own little pride without being part of a pride, no territory of their own... After her parents' exile, Umo and Kikawaida had, as far as Warrul could tell, never wanted to join another pride. Or at least, they never had the gumption. Perhaps the pain of it had been too much for them to bear trying again, to risk rejection. She'd never know their reasons, but now she had reason to join. She didn't want to live and die a rogue, and Bluu had given her an opportunity to join something.

Rangi noted how the other male reacted as he approached and for a moment wondered if he'd walked up on the wrong group. However as the female calmed him down he let that thought disperse and smiled. The female was certainly the happier of the two that Rangi could see and he had no doubt in his mind that these two were more than likely mates.

At the males comment Rangi laughed. "I guess you could say I am. I'm happy to be the welcoming party for anyone joining the pride." He replied with a pleasant nod.

When the female spoke and explained her situation Rangi perked up his ears in interest. "Wow really? Right on the border with your family. That's neat. Anymore of your family going to be joining you or just you?"

The lioness shook her head, frowning. "No, no more of my family is joining with us that I know of. If any are already in, I've missed it... I got a bit... Side tracked." A bird had led her away from the border for a while, where she'd found Bluu out in the roguelands, horribly lost, hungry, and in clear need of help. Things had just.. Happened from there. She looked at the part of her back visible under the hyena skin she wore. "I'm sure relatives of mine would be easy to spot, though.. We have fairly... UNIQUE markings." In fact, every lion she ever saw with markings anything like the ones she and her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews bore, she simply assumed it was a relative. There were certainly enough of them!

At the mention of family, Bluu's face lit up and his combination grumpy and suspicious expression melted away. "I'm actually here because of family! One of my brothers came here to be with our father, who lives in the pride already! I imagine there's a lot more here than just them, too!" The knowledge his father hailed from a place so big had left Bluu'kirembo wondering just how big his family was, how many lions were in it, what they were all like... The questions were simply ENDLESS for him!

Rangi nodded when the female said no more were joining them at the moment. "Ah well perhaps they will join on their own in time. It would be such fun to meet other members of your family and see these unique markings to your blood line." He told her with a pleasant smile and then turned to the male at his sudden change of mood.

Rangi's eyes widdened and his expression looked more excited at seeing the male open up and drop his suspicious expression. "That's exciting! I love the mystery that comes with finding new family members. What are they like? Are they friendly? Will they like you? It's so much fun!"

The lioness could only chuckle. Gods help the Pridelands if her family joined... They certainly needed somewhere to go after her parents' exile... She only knew the bare minimum details of the whole thing, though - Her father was involved, and it was the Swamplands they couldn't go to. She then turned her attention to her companion, also curious. What WAS his family like? Were they nearly as bubbly and happy? While he WAS capable of dour expressions, Bluu wasn't normally one to have them. "Do tell, Bluu, what IS your family like?" She had a sneaking suspicion that they were also as numerous as her own... Families, it seemed, had a way of NOT staying in one spot.

Bluu, true to his nature, smiled quite large at the question of his family. "Well, from what I know, my father's from the pride... His name is... Um..." He stopped, trying to remember... What had his mother said his father's name was....? Oh, right! "Barafu!" He paused. "If it's any relevance, my mother's name is Baako... My brothers and sister all got names starting with B because of that, I think." Sometimes parents had funny senses of humor. He looked over at Warrul, ears folding back with worry. "Please let's not do something like that..." He couldn't imagine how many more B names there were... And finding names that started with W? That would be even more challenging!

Rangi couldn't help but chuckle at the pair when Bluu brought up the naming issue. He didn't really remember any of his family. It had mostly just been him and his mother and his mother had passed away long before he had come to these lands.

"Well I wish I could be of some help to you in finding your father and siblings but I've not met anyone by that name yet. I've not been here long myself though. Just a few moons and there are a lot of faces here. Perhaps if you two would like I could take you to the main den of the pride?"

The yolk-colored lioness chuckled, ears perked up. "I don't imagine it WOULD be easy!" She then gave a bow of her head, before turning and nudging Bluu. "Come on, now, Bluu, I think it's time for us to go on in!" It felt like the purest joy-filled, wonderful moment for Warrul. She finally had a permanent home, one where she could be not just happy, but surrounded by others, by a pride. Her smile turned toward Rangi. "Thank you for welcoming us in! I already knew this was a nice place to be, filled with kind lions... I've just not had the confidence to join until now..." Was she repeating herself? She was too happy to care as she began walking toward the dens.

The gray and white lion listened to the brown and white, his blue ears trained on him. "Oh, I don't blame you. I'd already heard BEFORE I met Warrul that the pride was big and it was easy to lose someone!" He then grinned, starting to follow his mate. "But on the plus side, I already have at least one brother here, so I just have to find him, and I'll find everyone else from there!" Even though his birth pride had collapsed and everyone scattered, Bluu was optimistic about finding roots in a place new to him. It would take him a while to get names and faces straight, but he had faith he'd succeed. His thick coat bounced a bit as he began trotting after Warrul, heading to catch up to her. They were... Home.
