Rolled a Two: Rock Field: Tremors ripple forth from center-field as the basic floor shifts to a rock and dirt field. Rock towers emerge forth from the ground to offer a place of escape or an advantageous attack position. The breeze from the stadium air conditioners stirs the loose sand on the field, creating a mini sandstorm that reduces visibility. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ROCK type attacks. This field reduces FIRE type attacks by 25 HP.

Perseus arched her back warily as a hiss escaped her lips. This would be her first battle outside of the wilds, and she hadn't expected to see the field change so suddenly. She'd nearly lost her legs as the sheaves of rock emerged, and only Genesis' warning call had kept them intact. With her trainer's encouragement, she finally put a cautious paw on the field, and continued to test the rock stage while she waited for her opponent.

Hestia did not like this rock stage, she could feel her firepower was dimmed here. She scanned the field for any more possible hinderances. The towers may be useful, if she could get up one.

Seeing the Combusken arrive, Perseus turned to look back at her trainer. Genesis had told her she'd be battling on her own, which, though surprising, was not unpleasant. She'd fought herself all her life, and it pleased her to know she wouldn't have to wait for another's command to strike.
Throwing herself near the Combusken's feet, she started the battle with a piteous wailing.

The combusken faltered at the tears from her opponent, flinching back a bit as the cat landed at her feet. She felt sorry for it for a moment, and felt her defensive power lower. She shook her head. Ridiculous! Crying in a battle, this was no time for emotion! A small drop of pity stayed with her, though she knew she had to attack. "Rock Smash," Clyde said nonchalantly, the crying hadn't phased him at all. Hestia curled one of her clawed hands into a fist and threw it down at the purloin. Perseus' ruse had gone too far it seemed -- even she fell for it! She got so into the acting that she was unable to dodge the coming fist in time, and earned a good bruise for her trouble.
Hissing her displeasure, she jumped away, spraying sand at her opponent as she did so.

Perseus was too far off by then for Hestia's next swing to strike. Knowing the Combusken had an array of ranged moves, however, she circled back to spray more sand at her opponent's face.

Perseus continued to spray sand at her opponent. The next Rock Smash forced her to stop, but it was only temporary, and she used Sand Attack again with renewed vigor.
