It had taken them awhile but they had made it home, though the mix breed Rishima seemed to get more and more agitated on their trek back. By the time they had gotten back to the edge of the forest of Jahaur, Rishima seemed to jump at everything. Perhaps its was a build up to what was to come? Nervousness and all that since 'she' would have to face 'her' mother eventually, and now was as good a time as ever.
This is why Jerarda thought they should have a duel, to either try and give 'her' more experience in the realm of fighting, boost 'her' confidence (somewhat) and just all around get Rishima to face 'her' fears. Standing before the mix breed, her hands behind her back she was walking back and forth...pacing as if this would ease the tensions in the air.
"Alright Rishima...we are going to have a fight, no and's if's or but's about it. Only rules being you can't draw blood so we will wrap some cloth on the end of our spears. The winner will be ruled by whoever gives up first agreed?" Jerarda was still demanding and bossy as ever...but this was for 'her' own good was it not? At least this was how Jerarda saw it. She had already prepared the weapons and walked over to grab one of them before tossing it in Rishima's direction.
"I want you to come at me first okay? Show me what you got!"

How he didn't want to be here, he didn't want to be back in Jauhar already, he wasn't ready for this, wasn't ready to meet with his mother again! What if she was mad at him for leaving? Well, she was going to be mad, but what if she wouldn't ever let him leave again?! He didn't want to be stuck at home, he wanted to continue on his path, wanted to become a powerful and useful member of the Alkidike Tribe even if he wasn't what one thought of when one thought Alkidike. He feared though that if she forced him to stay home that he might not be able to become that, he would be stuck at home, his skills would rust, would become weak again, and he didn't want that. He wanted to go with Jerarda to see Aisha, wanted to meet with other members of their tribe, wanted to become someone who was well respected despite his looks and gender.
Jerarda drew him from his spiraling thoughts when she spoke, causing him to jerk to the side to look at her, "Eh?" He starred at Jerarda dumbly as she told him that he was going to be fighting with her, that there was no choice in the matter, and that he was going to be doing it! He looked down at his spear before giving a slow nod of his head as he got a cloth out of his pack and set to wrapping it around his spear. He wasn't sure what he thought about this, not wanting to harm his best and only friend among their tribe. He looked over at her, hands tightening on the spear, and he drew in a deep breath. How he didn't want to do this...
Forcing himself forward the halfbreed gave a hesitant sort of swing at the other Alkidike, not sure at all about why they had to fight all of a sudden. He knew that she was trying to help though, she always seemed willing to help him, so he would try. The tough part being that he really didn't want to harm her even in any way. Sure they weren't going for blood but with a spear like this, even blunted off, he might bruise her up! Not something that he wanted to do since just the idea of it made him feel a bit on the guilty side.

Jerarda barely had to try and dodge the swing, it was a very pathetic attempt at trying to hit her that was for sure, and she almost sighed in frustration. It really wasn't Rishima's fault it was 'her' mothers after all. Never teaching or letting 'her' learn for 'herself', but Jerarda had hoped that since she had finished her class quest with their elder that things would be different by now.
"Rishima...." Jerarda almost whined though she managed to catch herself. "I mean...try a little harder okay?" Her own spear already wrapped in cloth she went to swing at him, not too hard but certainly not as hesitant as Rishima had tried to hit her. "like this!"

The blow from Jerarda's spear, after his fumbling attempt at a dodge, wasn't too painful but it was enough to cause him to take a stumbling step back, his eyes going a little bit wide in surprise before he gave a bit of sigh. Well, that could have been a lot worse... maybe she was holding back for him? Could be but he doubted that it would last long. He was going to have to be careful, try to keep from getting knocked senseless given that he knew full well she was tough and could do it.
Taking in a deep breath he forced himself to move forward, to take a swing at Jerarda. He doubted very highly that she was going to let him scrape by not doing anything. He had to work hard, she was doing this for his own good after all! He didn't want to disappoint.

Well that was certainly better than last time. Rubbing the spot 'she' hit lightly she nodded her head hoping to get 'her' encouraged. "Much better! But harder! Come on lets really rumble!" Jerarda wasn't going to hold back forever and with a sudden feint to her right she charged forward bringing the bundled spear head around in a full arc to hit Rishima's side.
Jerarda made everything look easy...she of course was just lucky she didn't drop her spear as she was still getting use to using the thing. Still the girl was impressive when she wanted to be and this day was no exception.

Rishima gave a bit of a squeak, dodging out of the way of the spear that swung his way, doing better this time around at avoiding getting another smack from her spear. He blinked a couple of times then gave a bit of a smile, his antennae twitching in delight over how well he'd done in dodging out of the way. Now that was something he thought that he would be able to do so easily he though to himself before he took a quick step forward toward his friend and dueling opponent, bringing his spear up at her, determined to try to get another hit in on her. While he didn't want to cause her any harm, she was his best friend after all, he still wanted to try. Perhaps, if he did well enough, he might actually feel ready to face his mother? He wasn't really positive about that but he really did think that psyching himself up like this would help. He wondered if Jerarda had thought about that too. Most likely, she was as smart as she was strong.

Though pleased that Rishima managed to dodge her attack (speedy little thing 'she' was...) she was also annoyed by missing completely as well. Ah pride. Still she was relentless as she had to dodge Rishima's own attack against her, though only partially successful she knew she may actually have to take Rishima seriously if she continued to do so well. Shrugging off the blow she the alkidike strode forward the spear head darting forward to try and aim for some place that would be a bit more ...sore to be struck. The stomach was her goal, she wondered though if Rishi would attempt to dodge it again, though if it had been her she probably would of.
Still she felt proud that Rishima was actually doing better, actually trying rather than that feeble first attempt. There was hope for 'her' yet.

Another strong attack from Jerarda sent Rishima scrambling to dodge, drawing a cute little squeak from him, as he was able to only partially dodge the hit, still taking some of the blow. He dropped a hand to his stomach, rubbing it, pretty certain that it was going to bruise quickly, "Ow, ow." He muttered to himself. The blow was enough to knock the wind from the young Blade but he did his best to keep going regardless, dragging in a shaky breath, before he turned his attention to Jerarda. The boy shifted in place, planted his foot, and prepared, taking another swing at the other Blade.

Alright! Even as her hit was somewhat dodged she was so exhilarated to see that Rishi wasn't backing down! Unfortunately this would trigger the Alkidike's desire to win, the passion of fighting. She didn't respond this time, no comforting or encouraging words this go around. She struck forward again, shrugging off his attack like some battle hardened veteran (har har) before she struck out at him again, how she craved to drop this weapon and use her fists...how much more fun would it be?
More..fun for her...probably less so for the other...besides it wouldn't really be a far fight now would it?

Rishima watched as Jerarda shrugged off his blow, eyes going a bit wide, before he gave a happy sort of sound. Wow! She was so strong he thought to himself, his antennae once more twitching in delight. It was likely hero worship on his part, her being so strong and helping him out so much, but he still couldn't help but to be impressed by what she was doing. The fact that she was able to just shrug off his blows in such a manner and keep on swinging, not even looking like she was slowing down, it was so amazing to him. Recalling that they were in the middle of a duel he gave a quick shake of his head to clear his thoughts he was able to drop down low, dodging the strike that she set his way, sighing in relief when he did and then lunged forward to take another swing at her, trying to try to land another hit on his dueling partner.
