Ivette: The young mare had been wandering for awhile now, finding nothing interesting at all in the vast landscape. Goodness... this place sure could be boring. She was all for trainquility, and serenity, but... there wasn't a single individual for decent conversation around! Gracefully walking through a dense forest, she paused to critically inspect some leaves, and tiny berries, deeming them decent enough for her to lightly nibble at.

Zahid: This stallion couldn't wait for the day to end. Zahid looked less than presentable. Earlier he had been assualted by a large flock of freakish blood thirsty bats. They were no doubt sent after him by a witch. Not just any witch, but a witch he had of course managed to piss off. It was accidental, but typical. He attracted trouble after all. This trouble was one he could not shake. This witch seemed to haunt him every where he went.

Zahid looked over himself. He had blood and fur on him. The blood was mostly of the bats he had taken down. Mostly. His shoulders dropped as he began to sulk. This would not do. He would need to find a river or lake in which to wash himself off. Trudging through the forest, he hoped he wouldn't be seen before he could wash off. What a mess he was!

Ivette: Vegetarian food... she wasn't quite in the mood for it. Though she was a lady, and raised to be able to eat both greenery and meat, she much more preferred the latter. Perhaps a hunt would be in order... ah that is... until an aroma that she knew ever so well caught her attention. White ears perked, and glowing teal eyes slid to glance around her. Lifting her head proudly, her nostrils lightly flared a few times to obtain the scent even better. Blood... a grin curved onto her face as she slowly turned to follow it. Perhaps a fresh kill? Or a wounded creature that needed to be let out of its misery..

However... upon further investigation, it turned out to be neither. She stopped just a few paces from a stallion who seemed to be doused in the crimson liquid. Slender tail flicking slowly behind her, Ivette narrowed her gaze ever so slightly, before speaking to him in her usual poised, and proper tone, "It seems you've had a little run-in with some trouble, hm?"

Zahid: The forest vegetation began to stick to him in places where it touched the tacky drying blood on his hyde. He had seen better days. The kalona blood in him had thought of taking some of the larger chunks of bat with him. Upon further thinking, he decided it would not be wise. The meat might of been tainted from the witches dark magic. His stomach growled. All that work had built up his appetite. How could he think of food though! First he would need to wash his blade off. A sword could rust if kept with blood on it's cold steal. He had wiped it off on the fur of one of the bats, but it didn't do much to clean it. Then he could worry about replenishing his energy.

Zahid spooked at the sound of someone behind him. It would not be the first time he needed to reach for his sword. His mouth hovered over the handle, but he did not need to draw it. The voice was far from threatning. In fact, the sound came from a very regal sounding mare. He looked at her and his eyes went blank. First impressions were very important... Pulling up his shoulders, and attempting to straighten himself he took a deep breath. "Yes milady. It is as you say. The trouble is gone now, so you need not fret." He lowered his gaze, trying to show that he too, was of no threat.

Ivette: Though he made a motion for his sword, the mare did not falter, nor slow her slow glid towards him. Glowing eyes inspected the speciemen before her, judging, and critiquing what she saw so far. Was this his blood now? she could see a few scratches along his pelt, but nothing too serious to cause such blood spill. Curious... She walked around him at a leisurely pace, remaining quiet after she allowed her presence to be known. He was a fighter, that was obvious enough from the steel he was equipped with as well as the defined muscles held back by taut skin and fur. Very interesting indeed...

Coming around to his front, she met his eyes, and stared into them for a moment, maintaing her demeanor as he spoke. Hm. A uni. She hadn't seen one of these in quite some time. There were a few hybrid variants from her herd, but very few. Her tail coiled lightly behind her, like an intrigued snake, "Is that so?" she replied, letting her gaze peruse him once more, "But what of you now? surely something must be following you, what with carrying the alluring scent of blood, yes?" her lips lifted slightly into a faint, if not charming smile, a fang exposed ever so slightly in amusement.

Zahid: Nervousness was not something that he was accustomed to. As the blond haired mare inspected him, he became hot with embarrasment. Being checked out like that...at a time like this? Well, worse things had met him. He remained still as stone. His chest moved in small tiny breaths as his heart sped up. As she completed her circle, she faced him with glowing green orbs. He met her eyes and took in a deep breath, letting it out slowly. He was less embarassed now that her cycle was complete.

Well. Something was following him, but wasn't. The witch used other means to follow him that he didn't quite understand. At any time, she could make her presence known with some misfortune. A crystal ball perhaps? That seemed awfully rediculous. The fact was, he couldn't fathom her ways. He was a fighter, not a wizard who knew of such sorcery. How to respond to such a loaded question? Did she realize how involved that question was? Honesty is all he could think of, though it might still sound like a loose explanation.

"I do not think that the scent of this blood would make a difference to what seaks after me. It would seem to find me either way. As for being followed even still? There has always been a rest of days for those that haunt me." It was a polite answer without delving into too much detail.

Even though he felt he was the one being observed, he did continue to wonder about the mare that stood here unaffected by his appearence. She was a kalona mix, likely why she didn't loose her lunch. As he was thinking about these things, he realized he hadn't even offered his name. He was on a role today.. It would seem akward to shout out a name right now. he should of thought of that first...

Ivette: She awaited the response patiently, the key attached to her tail making a soft chiming sound as it tumbled along the smooth white apendage. The stallion had piqued her interest... a first in this land. Though she'd only met a few, they still all came up short to her standards. But with just this first meeting, Ivette was quite taken by the male. His blush was a surprise even, making a blonde, manicured brow arch faintly with curiosity.

Next to be glanced at was what he wore. The scarves, and jewelry taken note of, but showing really no signifigance to her other than he might be from a powerful or wealthy family. Perhaps a successful warrior family that owned land even. Now that would be divine..~ Glowing gaze flickered back up to his blue orbs as an explination was given, making the mare's eyes light. Things were definitely spicing up now. "Oh my... how.. dreadful~" she replied smoothly, but seemed to smile more, "You are a wanted stallion then?" had he gotten mixed up with some bad individuals? and now he was on the run? how rebellious... nothing like what would go on in her herd, oh no.

She slowly walked around him again, tail curving to faintly brush the ground, and slink up to brush against one of his legs, "Well perhaps you should clean up, just in case the skinwalker's and wolves are extra hungry today. I'm not quite in the mood to deal with the likes of them today." her tone remained casual, as if such things weren't a big deal at all, "There is a lake further down this way~" she peeked over her shoulder, to make sure he followed her lead.

Zahid: The white stallion near wanted to pout. The beautiful lady was not guarding her words in the least. She knew just what questions to ask to make him feel akward. What was it about her that was making him feel so uneasy though? It's not as if she would eat him. Such a silly notion. He blushed at the smooth velvet of her voice asking if he was a wanted stallion. Not the kind you would see on a wanted poster hung by the locals of his desert hometown. No, but he was still saught after by a displeased party who wanted him to pay for actions they thought he performed. "I am a stallion of pure intent, regardless of those who might think otherwise." In this instance at least. If he had done wrong, he would not lie. He was not without flaw or misdeed.

Zahid startled as her tail touched his leg. The sound of his muscles flexing in a tense twitch made a thud sound as his body convolsed briefly. He wanted to say he was sorry for having such a reaction, but was taught not to apologize unless it was something of true sorrow. It showed weakness to spout out apologies over trivial things. He acted like it didn't happen. "Yes milady. It is as you say. I do not mean to put you in harms way by my presence." He raised a brow at her offer to accompany him. Curious. Perhaps she was looking for conversation. He would follow along. It would be rude to turn down the offer, when it was so obvious that it was just what he needed. He would not make excuses and say he had already intended on doing so. That would be rude! "Let us make haste then. I will follow where you lead." He did just as she wanted and followed in line behind her. leaving enough personal space between them.

Ivette: She rose a curious brow at his strange reaction, but didn't really make any sort of other response to his odd antic's. Glad to have him comply to following her, Ivette went on to guide him at a leisurely pace, one that would suggest she hadn't any worries or cares in the world... clearly not taking his words into account. Glancing to him out the corner of her eye, she eyed his stature slowly, "What exactly is it that you were sparring against?" she asked straight out, eyes flickering to a rabbit that darted across their path. My that would have made for a nice snack...

The little lake wasn't too hard to reach nor find, and they were there soon enough. Stopping before the lip of it, she lowered her neck to allow her self to daintily lap at the water, slinky tail curling and flicking calmly behind her, long lashes veiling her glowing teal gaze. It was cool, not too warm nor too cold. After awhile of quenching herself, the mare lifted her head again to delicately lick her lips of excess, "By the by... what might your name be?"

Zahid: A light clinking sound was made as Zahid walked beside her. His jewelry and his sword lightly tinked against him. He was lucky thus far to have not lost any belongings in his scuffles. Zahid looked over at her, about to ask her name when she asked a question first. Even he didn't know exactly what he was fighting against. The normally poetic words were sparred as blunt honesty spurtted a quick response from his mouth. "A flock of cursed-blood-thirsty-over-sized-bats. They meant to have a piece of me. None of them lived to complete such a feat." his eyes narrowed, giving an almost angry gaze. Not being the type to hold onto grudges, he shook it off, his face returning to a calmer look. "No harm done. I have lived to tell the tell of how they came at me like the night! My blade did sign as it ended the life of each one. None felt pain for long." he added, trying to make it out to be more of a story than his first response. He thrived on a good story. This one would do. It would get better each time he told it.

He pulled up to the lake and sighed. The pond was small. He would surely paint it red while trying to wash off. At least he would get a few drinks first, before tainting it too much. He watched as she took a drink. That tail of hers seemed to have a mind of it's own as it flicked back and forth. And there was the question he had failed to get in. A name. "My apologies for not sharing sooner. My name is Zahid. Might I too, know yours?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 18, 2013 9:24 am

Ivette: His response drew a delicate from the mare to arch curiously, glowing eyes watching the stallion closely as he explained the predicament he'd been met with. Well then... that was quite the tale. But it only seemed to intrigue Ivette all the more. She appreciated a strong individual, especially when it came to males, and she was pleased to see that at least there were some acceptable ones here on these lands. However... she hardly had mercy for opponents, thus could not give too much care for his chivalrous disposition with disposing of his foes. "It is unfortunate I could not have witnessed such a battle. I am certain it would have been quite a delightful one to observe." she replied just as smoothly, and casually as before. Nothing more pleasing than seeing a male in battle.

Her tail continued its gentle coil and writhe behind her as he returned her question with an answer. It was then that he was lucky enough to be given a subtle, faint smile from the mare, rather pleased with the manners that he seemed to possess, " I will let it slide this time. No worries. I am Ivette Sorko. Daughter of a powerful herd that.. you most likely have not heard of." she giggled in a dainty, quiet tone, amused at just the thought of him even knowing of her lineage. "Now. Please wash yourself of your wounds. Or else it shall surely cling tightly to your fur even more."

Zahid: A brow arched at her response, and he even grinned for a split second. The fact that she thought it would have been delightful to watch him battle was an unexpected response. Not that he would intentionally allow any lady to watch him. No. He would not dare to put her in harms way. To him, lady's were the type that needed protecting. Even if he met one with a sword and armor, he would try to shield her from battle. Zahid was rather selfless when it came to such things. Even so, hearing a mare say such things, was a rare treat. It served as a compliment of sorts to him. "It is not something I would imagine any lady being present to see." he still retained the way he felt in his words regardless. Half of him thought that if she were around long enough, she might see such a thing. He hoped not to subject her to that though.

Watching the mare pull out a dainty side, and speak of her lineage, peaked his curiosity. There was something different about her than most pretty faced mares. She had a hidden flare that he couldn't quite put his hoof on. It seemed she didn't want to speak of her family. This he could understand all too well. Zahid came from parents that had a story that wasn't always wise to tell. It depended on the soq, if they knew of his parents, and where their allegiance lay. That rarely was something that came up in the kawani area.

"Ivette, it is my pleasure to meet you." he bowed at her. He would of kissed her hoof, if he wasn't a sponge of red. Turning towards the lake, he reached in and took a long cool drink. Raising his head, he begin to unfasten a satchel that was hidden under the blanket across his back. "Pardon me for a moment." He would take the blanket off too, leaving his sword, jewelry, and anklets on when he stepped in the lake.

Ivette: Now here was a curious reply, that had the mare all attention on him. Something he wouldn't imagine a lady being present for? That earned him another very proper laugh from her, light and melodical, "My, my... is that so? Do you see us females as too delicate for such a normal and natural thing of life?" she cooed teasingly, "We are not flowers, you know." such a delightfully amusing comment.. Perhaps he did not know how kalona's worked.

At least he had manners, and knew how to treat a mare right. She appreciated how he was somewhat submissive towards her and her rather blunt responses and questions. Though he wasn't a pushover.. just right. As much as she enjoyed a good challenge, it was nice to find a male that could show respect. She'd dealt with mouthy stallions for the majority of her life, and had ran into a few here. They could become a bore after awihle and tiring. Her gaze traveled along his large figure again, admiring the build, and the little trinkets he held once more. Where were his origins... she'd not seen some of these things before. Her family had lace, and silk, ribbons, and the finest of fabrics. Swords were long, and thin, not curved and broad. Her wandering eyes returned to his as he spoke again, smiling faintly again to let her fangs bare just slightly, since they already rested over her bottom lip. A bow.. now that was very pleasing to see. She remained at the edge of the pool as he went into it, watching him the entire time, her tail curving and flicking slowly, the key lacing along it as if it were apart of the white apendage, "Though you have undergone battle, you still seem to have your wits about you." she idly observes. "Quite a strong stallion, aren't you?"

Zahid: "I do not mean to say you are weak. Forgive me if that's the impression that I gave. I have a sister who could defend herself easily, but even still, I would rather do it for her. It is my own personal conviction as a gentlestallion. Given a choice, I would take the scars over a lady. Why tarnish a flower, even a sturdy one, when you can tarnish a branch instead? I would not throw treasure into battle." Zahid's sister was more kalona than he was, and didn't need to be protected at all. Being raised by his mother, a true desert flower, had given way to most of his convictions. She was not one that could fight in battle if she needed to. She was a beautiful delicate flower. He hadn't learned to differentiate that between other mares who might not want to be doted over and tended to delicately. But he had learned that there were mares even stronger than he. It didn't sway him much. He respected their strength, but still wanted to protect the ones dear to him.

Zahid reached to his sword after responding, and unhooked it from his blanket. Normally, he had a sash that wrapped around him for fashion, that looked like it suspended the sword. It was too light to hold everything in place. There was a belt that he used to hook his sword to. He hadn't taken the time to re-wrap everything presentably after his fight, so the sash pulled off of him easily with the sword. Watching Ivette's location, so as not to accidentally hurt her with his blade, he nudged the blanket off his back, then used a hoof to step on it and pull it off all the way. The belt that wrapped underneath him could be seen now. How funny he looked with the blanket off, revealing a slate of white on his back that was not tarnished by red. With that, he carried his sword and walked into the lake. Being a stallion who frequented the desert, he was acclimated to temperature changes. Stepping into the cool lake did not bother him. It felt good actually, as it began to wash away some of the stains from his legs.

Getting about half way in, he jabbed his sword into the lake bed beneath him. He had felt that the ground was soft when he walked in, and knew it would stab there and stay erect without harming the blade. He had stuck it in far enough so that the weight of the sword was buried and would not cause it to topple over. Only the hilt stayed above the water. "I am only as strong as I need to be. Strength fails if you do not have your wits with you. Even the strongest of the living, can be felled by one weaker, if that have the wit to do so." He rubbed his legs together like a cricket, trying to loosen some of the grime.

Zahid stepped deeper into the water, watching Ivette and his sword. Taking his eyes off his sword was something he knew not to do. He always kept it within reach. The lake wrapped up to his chest, falling short of his back by about a hand. He used his muzzle to rub at the places he could reach. Then he dipped the side of his face in a swiping motion into the water, and jerked back a few times. It sent the water up above him, and down his neck. Shaking his head, he looked to Ivette. His hair was draped over his eyes, dripping wet. The shorter parts of his hair poofed out in places where the water had shook off successfully. "Looks like I've made a bit of a mess." He spoke not of himself, but of the red water that clouded around him. The lake was small enough that it had no wake on it's own, except the movements that Zahid had made.

He raised an eyebrow at his sword and walked back towards it. Pulling it out of the mud, he swirled it around in the water. An effortless foe, as the blade cut through the water with little resistance. He picked the sword up out of the water and inspected it, then dunked it back in to try and clean any remaining blood off.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 26, 2013 8:03 pm

Ivette: How intriguing indeed... "My... do you have such a low view of your own gender, Zahid?" she asked with a curling grin. "We are not all these flowers you speak of.. in fact... some of us are thorns.. perhaps branches, as you claim your sex to be." her tail flickered with a sort of amused temper to it, bouncing somewhat, causing the key attatched to do the same, "It has been sometime since I have been in a fight myself, but... I too do enjoy the tearing of flesh, and the aroma of blood wafting of my foes." she chuckled. But... she didn't like to get dirty all that much. She enjoyed being immaculate, clean and well groomed. Such fights were saved only for necessity's reasons, or... if there was some sort of punishment that was definitely in need for an opposing enemy. "Either way, you are the first I've heard speak of us in such a fragile sort of tone. It is... interesting, to say in the least~" she mused with a light smile.

Remaining at the edge of the water, watching Zahid's ever move, Ivette remained intrigued, Intelligent and phyiscally successful. This was rare to find indeed. Her hooves shifted to avoid any of the now tainted water from splashing onto her pristine legs. "You are a very wise male, Zahid." she replied with approval, "It is no wonder that you are so accomplished in your battles." A glance was spared to his sword, curious about it, but she didn't pursue it. Such weapons were not common in her herd, and if anything... their tails served the purpose that object did; many were blades the size of that one there, or bigger! sharp, and deadly, like a claw.
While he bathed, the mare looked around to see if there was anything substantial to nibble on while she waited, taking a few paces to a bush that held a few berries still, not many, but enough to at least give a nice taste to her palette. And so she chewed daintily on a few of them, ears pricking as Zahid spoke up again. Looking over to him, she chuckled lightly under her breath, "My, you were quite the dirty stallion. Perhaps you will need to invest in a second bathing, even, elsewhere." this pool would take some time to clear out from the blood that now filled it. Ah, but she wanted to know more about him.. she was nosey, after all, and liked to know all about things that piqued her interest, "Does your mate not mind your running about from mysterious enemies, Zahid? surely you must worry her with such antic's?" a playful grin contorted on her lips, curling at the corners, as she glanced at him from only the corner of her eyes, as if she were being ever so nonchalant on the matter.

Zahid: He paused for a moment mid-bathe, and hooked his sword on the belt on his back. This way his mouth was free to talk to Ivette. Ivette. He would use her name in sentence again, so as not to forget such a name for a lovely mare. It seemed she too, knew how to be polite and use ones name after just having learned it. "Perhaps it is as you say, and not all mares are like flowers. I think I fail to explain why I feel the way I do about things." he chuckled light heartedly. "Ivette, I will remember not to compare you to a flower at least." he smirked at her, being less serious for a moment, and a little playful. He even blushed a bit, but hoped it wasn't noticeable from that distance.

The blushing? Yeah, there was more of that when she complimented him. "Thank you Ivette. I believe I still have much to learn, even still."

Wading through the water, he set off towards the other side of the lake, a quarter clockwise from where Ivette stood. "I will be out in one moment. I do not want to get you wet!" he called back over his shoulder as he walked away, chewing on the comment about a mate. He used him getting out of the water as reason to delay that answer. Emerging out the side of the lake, he gave himself a violent shake. Sword, and gold tinked about angrily. The side point of the blade poked in his side once, but did not draw blood. He didn't even blink.

After his shake to loosen as much water as he could, he closed around the edge of the lake back towards where Ivette was snacking. He shrugged. "Guess I am still quite a mess, but it will have to do for now." he picked his pack up and hooked it back on his belt. A peculiar twist shaped in his lips. "As for a mate. I haven't one." he then reached around to his side and removed the sword, placing it on the ground by his blanket. "I am not without family, though I do not see them often. I tend to keep on the move." Romance was a touchy subject. While he wanted to have a love that gave a story to tell, he had an ongoing relationship with his travels. He had heard the story of his brother and sisters significant others, and strongly believed in the love of his parents. It just wasn't the time for something like that. How could he introduce a mare in his life, when he was never in one place, and always exposes to danger? He wondered if Ivette had someone she cared for. He was not the type to ask such things though, even if she had. To him, that information was for her to share should she feel the need to do so.

Zahid realized his blanket was still red in color. It would have to do for now. If he wet it now, it would take far too long to dry. He would tend to it later. He did the oddest thing though. He flipped it over, blood side down, front over to back. This way the whole where the hook to his belt was, still lined up. The blood had soaked through in some areas, but it was mostly dry. He could feel it's dampness against his body. The simi-cleaner side, was now facing out.

He stared off for a moment, then fixed his sword back to his side. The scarf, he kind of just tossed over his back, and let it drip. Oddly, he just caught notice of Ivette's key that adorned her tail. An eyebrow raised, and he asked her: "What does that key unlock? Or is it a secret?"

Ivette: She silently watched him make his way across the pool of water, before her gaze drifted off to their surroundings again. A little rabbit was spotted hidden in some underbrush not too far away... making her grin lightly, those fangs showing themselves. My that was a plump one too~ But it would have to wait. She had company, after all. Her attention veered back towards the stallion as he approached, taking a look at his new condition. Well.. it was at least a little better from what he had been. "It will do for now." she replied, as though it was her choice on the matter of whether or not he was presentable. The answer he gave had her brows lifted slightly with surprise, "Oh? Well that is interesting." she gave him another once over, before meeting his eyes, "I would have expected a male of your stature to have a mare of some kind to spread his strong lineage to. Hm." her expression took to a look of mulling, as though pondering the matter, before a little shrug was given, letting the topic drift off. Stepping forward, she began to inspect his fur now, in its dampened state, pursing her lips in displeasure at a few area's that were sticking up in a displeasing manner. This lead her to leaning forward and straightening these patches out, smoothing them with a light nosing, before she was satisfied enough to leave be. It was always important to keep ones pelt in tip top condition. Though she didn't do too much more, as she did not want to sully her own pristine, lovely white coat.

The attention paid to her key caused for a light chuckle, and her slinky tail to curve and wind slowly like a serpent, "It is a family heirloom. That does hold access to something quite precious in our herd." she gave him a wry expression, "Indeed something of a secret, I suppose you could say."

Zahid arched a brow as she had looked over him, standing ever so still when he noticed she was critiquing his appearance after the short bath. He otherwise would of blushed, knowing he was not looking his best, but he had good reason for his appearances, and didn't think twice more of it.

He relaxed a little, and tried to keep the conversation going. However, he was caught off guard again as she spoke of lineage. His answer seemed to shock her. Zahid hadn't thought of it that way before, and the import of keeping the family going. Still, it suggested more intimate happenings, and wasn't so simply done! Zahid full on blushed. He stuttered a little as he responded. "Uhh-huh-huh. I believe my siblings are on their way to keeping the family lineage strong. Mmm-hmm" he finished with a light clear of his voice.

Topic change! "A family heirloom you say." It didn't help. His mind went right back to the thought of procreation and family lineage. If he could pound his hoof against his forehead, he would have. "If it is a precious secret, then I will not inquire further Ivette." Regardless of his embarrassed thoughts, politeness still loosly oozed from his words in an almost regal manner.

All the while, he didn't even notice the plump white rabbit that was hopping in the brush ahead of them. Definitely couldn't smell it. All he smelt was the blood of the bats. Had he smelt it, he would of offered her dinner.

Ivette: His reactions were intriguing, to say in the least. To see such a strong stallion fluster so easily... that was something new to her. But entertaining enough that it didn't irk her. Thus, it was allowed, and deemed acceptable. "Ah I see." she replied slowly, eying him once more critically, before she turned to lead them on from the pond that he'd bathed in, "I believe that we would do well to find some sunlight for you to stand in, so as to fully dry that pelt of yours." she pauses, nose wrinkling faintly, a brow crooking, "unless you desire such a condition..." though how many fellow horses enjoyed being doused in water, asides from those that lived in the water?

A very faint, and small smile was given to him in another gesture of approval, "Good. Perhaps if I can confide in you further in the future, I may indulge your curiosity." she chuckled faintly, more than certain such a case would not be so. Her teal glowing gaze shifted about, nostrils flaring faintly to scent the air of any of those that had been pursuing this male. But it seemed to be just the two of them, soquili wise... "Surely you must be famished as well, from such a long run I take it?" she inquired, "A refreshing meal might renew your strength, should you come into contact with your troublesome foes again."

Zahid: He furrowed his eyebrows for a quick second. "Sunlight would be most desirable Miss. Thank you." His white coat would dry quicker with the warmth of the sun. He didn't mind being wet, since he was raised in the desert. Not that he went out of his way to get wet though. He did care if his belongings were wet. Great care was put into keeping his things in top shape. Ever they were ever damaged in battle, they were soon replaced. A small amount of humanoid coin was kept in his satchel for just such things.

The embarassing thought and realization of him being single passed. It would likely not come to thought again, unless provoked. Zahid was unlike most stallions. Natural urges were trained to be silenced by him. A still blade required great focus after all.

"Hmm. Perhaps." There were not many he had crossed paths with twice, unless intended to do so. Being on the move so often kept frequent formalities to a minimum. Especially in the places he was unwelcome.. Zahid raised a brow at the thought and shook his head. He gave his own smile, half amused at the trouble he attracted.

"Ivette, are you asking me to dine with you? I am unprepared, and do not have any rations in which to share." he was surprised, though pleasantly, that Ivette was interested in his company, even still. She was quite polite. The thought of food became predominant in the back of his mind, and his stomach gurgled out a calling. Zahid cleared his throat, trying to cover up the dull roar. "Excuse me. I would be honored to find a meal to share though. Harm will not find me again for sometime, so our dine together should be uninterrupted."

Ivette: The forest was rather dense, and thick with lush vegetation, making navigating around it a touch difficult. But being a somewhat small female, and having an elegant stride, she was able to maneuver about without too much issue. A few branches were pushed out of the way, and some bushes stepped over. There was sunlight peeking in through the canopy's above, dotting the grounds around them, but nothing large enough to truly warm up their hides. Some open space would be nice. Though it was usually a dangerous place, being so exposed, Ivette was confident in herself that she'd be able to handle any challenges that should make the mistake of crossing her.... and besides, she had this warrior of a stallion with her. Surely that'd count for something too.

Ah but it seemed that they were reaching the outskirts of the forest finally, to where she could see past the trunks and on to an open field just further off! tail winding behind her in a somewhat pleased manner, her head turned to glance to Zahid again, a curious expression on her face.... which soon turned into one of amusement. Chuckling again, she gave him a rather gentle smile, though her glowing eyes narrowed inquisitively, "That is no matter. There's plenty around us to feast on. Even if it is rather... plain and drab." of course she was used to the finer things, but taking to the world on her own, she had to learn that not everything that was lavish and a high-end delicacy would be at her hooves. But.. his chivalry was well appreciated, and was to be commended, earning him that smile of hers, "Well then, let us see what these lands have to offer us." stepping out to face the clearing, her eyes blinked a few times to adjust to the brighter light, gazing along the wide spread field that was mostly wilde grasses that were swaying listlessly in the gentle breeze that rolled by.

Zahid tried to keep up with her delicate pace, stepping beside her when he could, and even moving branches out of the way for her. Times like these made him wish he carried two blades. One could be used to chop down the forest vegetation. He dare not use the same sword used for fighting. The blade would become dull, and maybe chip. One of the arms extending out from the trees, scrapped against him. Worse things had happened. He barely noticed.

Plain and drab. He understood what she meant. There were certain things he found more savory than others. However, he would eat anything. Better to eat dull grass if there was a need, then to later be weak and susceptible to attack. It seemed that vegetables gave him the most energy, and red meats.

Zahid pulled up next to Ivette, at the forest's edge. As he did, the bush beside him rustled. Instinctively, he drew his sword quickly, staying the blade away from Ivette as he arched it to swing above the bush. A white dove shot out of the bush simultaneously. A rain of tail feathers floated down, where the sword had missed it's target. Zahid was ready though. Where there was one dove or pigeon, there was likely more. The coo of the dove as it flew, was a warning to all. From the bushes, including the ones next to Ivette, a whole flock of dove sprouted from their roosts.

The sound of a singing blade rang through the air, as he tried to hit as many as he could in the brief split second that he had!

Some might have been taken back by his actions, and deemed him cruel. Birds made good snacks, and packed more nutrition than the swaying grass of the field before them. Making sure to wipe his blade off, he put it back quickly so he could speak. He turned to Ivette. "Are you okay?" he said with a smile and an arch of his eyebrow. "My apologies if I startled you Ivette." Moving to the side, he looked for fallen birds. He had felt his blade make contact at least once. There hadn't been enough time to make a second swing. On the ground, one bird lay with it's head cut clean off. A thrashing, second bird, lay a foot away from that one, having been caught by only the edge of the blade. One wing bathed in the blood that was trickling from it's side, as it tried to still fly away.
