Braven, when he had free time, would often go to the library to read some or get more information that might help him with his efforts in helping young colts and fillies with family or emotional troubles. He was not a professional psychiatrist but more like a counselor for those who sought help. He did what he could but there were always need things to learn that would shine new lights on a Mearh's mental stay.

It was a brisk winter day but not too cold as the faded splotched stallion made his way up the stairs into the library. He wondered if they had any of the new books on the mind and emotions. He just hoped that he would be able to farther help those in need. He sighed as his mind wandered back to his own past and his his younger sister. She had grown up very strong without anyone helping her out and their father was close to her and proud of her. He did not know what she was up too these days since he had not seen her for a wail. But had grown up weak and damaged emotionally. He seemed strong and confident on the outside but mentally he was a wreck. And that is why this line of work was so important to him even if there were many Mearh who thought it was a foolish line a work.

Making his way towards the back of the library and the small section of books that would be along his line of interest he did not really look around him.

User ImageAysria grumbled as she glanced up at a row of books on the top shelf. She had been looking for a good book for hours, and now that she had found one she was having serious issues trying to remove it from its home in the top shelf. She had been trying to search for a stool or bench, but the only thing she had found even close to that was a small wooden chair. All she had wanted to do was grab a good book about dreams, but apparently that was too much to ask since it was being so difficult.

Shaking her head, she glanced around to find someone to assist her and spotted a multi colored Laegil stallion with green splotches all over him. He appeared to be deep in thought, but then again he could've just been daydreaming as well. She didn't exactly know if it was a good idea to bother him, and usually wouldn't ask for help from someone anyway, but she was very determined to get this book. Standing up straighter, she tried her best to look confident as she walked over to him and tapped him lightly on his broad shoulder.

"Uhm, excuse me sir?" she said, far less confident than she had planned.

Braven blinked a few times as he was drawn back into currently reality instead of memories. He did not jump as he was touched but he slowly turned to look at the pale peach colored Ista mare with white snow and wind pattern across her body, growing more intricate towards her legs. Not that he allowed his eyes to fall anywhere past the Ista's face.

His ears flicked forward as she spoke so very softly and assuredly to him. The 'weakness' of her voice drawing his attention more fully to her instead of the thought that surely she had address him mistaking him for someone else. It took him a short moment but he found his voice, "Yes miss? Can I help you?" His voice was soft and gentle and rather quiet for a stallion. Though the quietness could just be because they were within a library and he was trying not to disturb others. He gave a small smile, "I do not work here....but I will be glad to help you if I can."

"I'm very sorry to bother you sir," Aysria blushed, looking away from the tall stallion as she grew more embarrassed with each passing moment. "I just needed some help getting a book off the top shelf that I am too short to reach."

Way to be confident, Aysria.

The mare sighed, looking down at her feet more. She was never really good at speaking with people, and in this case seemed to be even worse at it with the stallion in front of her. Maybe it was because he was far more attractive than other stallions she had met, but she wasn't too sure. She was probably just being really awkward, and he probably thought she was a loser. It wouldn't have been the first time it's happened.

Braven's pale brow furrowed a bit as it seemed her nervousness grew. He was not used to someone acting like this with him. He shook his head a bit figuring it was just the fact that she asked for his help and he did not work here. "No need to be sorry miss. I am very glad to help you get a book." He turned to her fully, "Please lead the way to the book and point it out and I would be very glad to get it for you."

He reached a hand out to the intricately pattern shoulder to give it a soft pat as she looked down seeming to grow even more nervous. He wished he could calm her a bit but he was sure that the pat to the shoulder would startle her even more. He tried to keep the look on his face gentle. "I hate it when I need a book that I can't reach. And the steps are never around when you need them huh?"

User ImageAysria jerked as he unexpectedly touched her shoulder, causing her to blush more at the contact. She didn't mean to act so nervous towards the stallion, but since she was no good at talking to people she figured the less she said the better.

"It seems like they hide the steps just to see if we can find them," she laughed softly, turning her back on him to lead him to the shelf where the book she wanted was. "It's the heavy red one on the very top shelf."

Turning back towards him she hesitantly smiled as she pointed it out, her hand just out of reach of it. She was sure that his much taller frame would reach it without a problem unlike her who was having such a hard time with it.

Curse whoever made bookshelves so tall.

If it wasn't for them she wouldn't have to be bothering him with such a silly request.

Braven gave a nod, "Yes once I found a the steps I needed two halls down from me." He sighed softly as he followed her, "I am sorry for touching your shoulder with out warning you. I did not mean to startle you miss."

When she stopped and told him which book she was looking at her turned to look at the shelves and gave a nod. He reached up stretching his arm up and eased the book from its spot. "Looks like your going to enjoy some light reading." he tried to make a joke as he brought the book down for her. He held it out to her. "Is there any other book you need help getting down right now miss?" He asked watching her.

His flicked his sky cyan tail as he watched her. Ever the gentleman he had not looked over her body even when she had turned from him. He was sure that most mares did not like to be ogled like a piece of meat. So respecting what he was sure she wanted he kept his eyes always from her shoulders up. "If you need another book later on please come to and find me I will be on this floor towards the back. Just come back and ask for Braven."

Aysria laughed at his comment," Yes they do seem to always be in an inconvenient place," she smiled, relaxing more as she took the book from his hands.

Now that the awkward first contact had been made, she felt herself growing a bit more comfortable with the stallion. He hadn't been rude to her or said anything about her inability to retrieve the book for herself. He had just been kind, which was something she was not used to. When he said he was going to leave, she felt herself wanting to see him more or at least keep him around to where she could talk to him. He was an interesting stallion, and she really did want to talk to him.

"Do you need any help with anything, Braven?" she asked hesitantly, not wanting him to leave just yet. She'd gladly assist him after what he did for her if he wanted her to, but then again he might not.

Braven stole a look at the pale eyes of the mare seeing that she finally seemed to be relaxing. That was a very good thing. He liked it when Mearh felt they could relax and be themselves with him. There were many he longed for that to be the case with. He started to drift away into memories and his hopes when she spoke again.

His golden eyes refocused on her and his pale splotched cheeks darkened with blush. "Oh um...no I don't think I need any help with anything miss. But if you would like to keep we company I am sure we can find a table for us both that will be half way between each of our reading selections." He offered wanting to be friendly but not sure if she would want to join him at a table where they would both, more than likely, sit reading their own books and not talking. But at least he had offered it. He allowed a small smile to cross his muzzle as he thought how proud his sister would be of him for asking a mare to join him in something.

He turned slowly moving is hand in a gesture for her to accompany him if she wanted too. If not then he was ready to walk towards the back again alone. He wondered how he would go about looking 'cool' if she were not to walk with him. He tried to wonder what his father's friend would do. Gavril would more than likely flirt heavily with her until she was flushed and stammering. He knew he could not do that. He was not the type to do that. In fact flirting like that made him sick. The simple idea of a one night stand and all of the possible events that could happen from that made his thing body want to heave.

User ImageAysria blushed and smiled, happy that he had suggested accompanying him. She was curious to see what type of books he read, since she never saw many stallions in the library. Looking at the stallion more closely, she couldn't help but notice that he seemed to deep in thought about something. She hoped he wasn't upset about anything. He was too nice of a guy to be unhappy in her opinion. It wasn't any of her business though, so there wasn't much for her to do.

Shaking her head, she laughed softly as she realized the golden eyed stallion still didn't know her name. She had been so nervous earlier that telling him her name hadn't even crossed her mind. He probably thought she was rude or something of the sorts for not introducing herself.

"I'm Aysria, in case you were wondering. I just realized I hadn't even introduced myself to you even though you've been so nice to me. Sorry about that," she smiled shyly, holding her hand out to him, "It is very nice to meet you, Braven."

Braven stopped walking towards the back when she introduced herself. He turned to take her smaller hand in his larger thin hand. "I was in fact wondering miss Aysria. But I figured it would be rude of me to ask for your name. After all is it not true that many mares like to keep some aspect of mystery about themselves?" He ask and gave her another gentle smile.

After letting her hand go he started to walk. Just a short distance away from where she had gathered her book he motioned to a table. "Will this do miss Aysria?" He asked as he walked towards it to pull out a chair for her. "The books I will need are just in those back selves over there." he said motioning to several selves of books in the back. "If this will do I will not take long to gather my books and return." he said gently his voice was always soft and gentle. It was almost as if even the simplest of sentences he guarded his words.

User ImageAysria smiled at the stallion and thankfully took the seat he offered her. His soft voice made her want to listen to everything he had to say, no matter what it was. There was just something intriguing to her about the way he said things. As friendly and kind as he was it was like there was something dark about him hidden just under the surface.

"Go ahead and find the books you need, mister Braven. I'll wait for you to return," she smiled, motioning for him to go off to search for his books. She was curious about what he was thinking about, but she still refused to intrude on his personal thoughts. He was too nice of a guy to upset by saying something stupid. She'd much rather talk to him more and maybe even befriend him if he allowed it.

I really do sound hopeless.

Braven gave a gentle nod, "Well then I shall try not to be long." she said softly and left her at the table to go and gather up a couple books from the shelves. Wail he was gathering them be could not help but wonder what was going on with the fair Ista mare. Normally he was ignored by most adults. He was not used to the attention but she seemed very nice. He might know how to deal with foals and the younger Mearh but his own age Mearh was a brand new world to him. Though he was going to try and not let it get to him. After all there was nothing wrong with being nice to a mare and sharing time with her. He did not even think in the slightest that it might seem that he was flirting with her. Unlike his father or sisters he had zero flirting skills

With three books in hand he made his way back to the table and set them down. "I hope that I did not keep you waiting too long miss." He took his seat across from her and pulled out a small journal and a pencil. "Thank you again for joining me miss Aysria. It is nice not to have to read alone."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 05, 2013 11:01 pm

The Ista smiled and reached over to the stallion, gently patting his hand. "You didn't take long at all," she smiled nervously, looking at his journal as he pulled it out. "Are you doing research on something specific, or is it just a leisure activity?" Her curiosity had finally gotten the better of her as she asked the question, leaning a little closer to see the types of books he was reading.

"I myself don't exactly have a job, so I spend a lot of my time reading in the library and learning new things. This week it's all about dreams," she explained, hoping he wasn't annoyed or bored with what she was saying. Usually she wasn't so talkative, but around him she just seemed to spill everything without even a second thought. It was like she didn't have a filter on what she said. Normally she was quiet and cool, but not today with this stallion.

Braven looked down as her pale hand patted his splotched one. "It is a bit of both actually. I work trying to help young Mearh deal with family or emotional issues. So I am doing some research and reading into the most current books on the mind and emotions." he said. "Though most of them I find hard to believe is correct."

He smiled at her. "There is nothing wrong with not having a job. I spend a lot of time wondering what I would want to do myself. So each week you learn on a new subject? That is quite impressive miss Aysria. And how is your dream reading going?" He asked softly setting his journal down to look at her fully focusing on her and not his own books. He did not mind taking time out from having to read or deal with more serious things.
