"And where exactly are we going to this time?" The male leapt up and over the fallen tree trunk as he spoke, not all too curious on where their destination was. He was more or less here to keep an eye on his rambunctious younger sister. Not that he minded, since they hardly ever had time to bump into each other and chat. Truth be told he was quite fond of her blabbering and adventurous nature, though he'd never encourage those traits by saying so aloud. Instead, he allowed her to lead the way on this particular adventure as he'd nod in reply to her casual directions.

Currently, her leadership had led them towards the eastern river. He'd been here many times himself, but the change of seasons always made it a fascinating sight. Snowfall had covered the river bank, with the edges frosting over in reflective ice. The water itself was shallow and slow moving, as if winter had lulled it into a calm sleep, the water's ripples sounding like a soft lullaby. "Oy, just be careful around that water. You hear me?"


The younger mare bubbled in laughter as she stopped her trotting, and eyes peeked back at her brother with a cheerful glint. "Already gettin' bossy on meh now, eh? Doooon't worry about it, we be there in no time flat! C'mon now." Iskra continued on with her trot, taking delight as her hooves made deep pockets in the fresh, crisp snow. Sure it was chilly, but her pace was swift enough to avoid the bite of the snow on each step. As the river drew closer though, the mare paused and flicked her ears. Wait, which direction was it in again? "Eeeer, which wai' be North n' South 'gain?" She glanced at her brother for help on the issue. Since the leaves had fallen and the scenery changed, the mare had a hard time keeping her bearings. With a nod from her brother pointing to the northern mountain range, the mare chuckled lightly. "Ay' knew tha! Come along!" And she turned on her heel to march along the river's edge, keeping careful of the sleek pebbles and stones just below the blanket of snow. It shouldn't be too far from here, this secret destination that she was leading them to. >3  

[Insane Butterfly]

Druzzulinbek plodded heavily through the thick blanket of snow that covered most of the ground. It was late afternoon and the sun that now shone was orange and did little to melt the cold wet stuff. Not that he seriously minded the cold but he could do without it being so slippery. Luckily for him, no one had been around to see him loose his footing and go sliding a little down a slope before falling ungraciously onto his side. He'd gotten a fair bit colder and a damaged pride. But, no one had seen him fall.
A small smile tugged his lips at that relocation. Why should he let it bother him that the terrain had gotten the best of him? He shouldn't! In retaliation he kicked up a flurry of snow and watched it sparkle in the sun and settle back to the ground. The sight was calming and he was being a big silly. He let out a large, rumbling sigh that clouded the air and continued on his walk. This new area was beautiful and while the snow perched on all the branches of the trees was quite lovely, he couldn't wait to see all the colors the land had to offer.
Slow trickling met his ears in the silence and he was eager to investigate his new find. As he approached however, voices became apparent. They were not close enough that he could make them out, but he was experienced enough in life to know now was the time to be cautious. He slowed his pace down to a slow walk, cursing the snow as it softly crunched under his hoof falls. He reached a spot where he was comfortable at stopping, deciding he would be well hidden, but able to become easily visible, if he needed.

"Hey Manj, did Papa ever ever challenge you to gallop through a thunderstorm yet? He's such a crazy felleh." The mare laughed kindly with a fond shake of her head. Her family was indeed an odd bunch, since who in their right mind would want to race through a storm? But she loved them all the same, and could just slightly admire their constant search for adventure. She enjoyed adventures, don't get her wrong! But hers were more of the secretive types, and she doubted her parents would encourage her thieving habits if they ever found out. Heck, even her siblings didn't know....or did they? Hmm. "Aaaanyways. I was just bein' curious is all." And with that she hopped over a mound of snow, careful not to bump into the pointy branches of the bush buried underneath said mound. "Right this way!"

His ears lifted forward, listening calmly at his sisters odd question. Why she would ask such a thing at this moment, he didn't have any clue. Unless she was trying to distract him from something. "Actually, he has mentioned it, a long time ago though." The brother shrugged, faintly recalling the situation. "Said it was kin to a lucky charm, dancing in the rain 'n finding a lady friend 'n whatnot. Sounded like nothing more than a made up tradition with high hopes of grandchildren ta me." Manji coughed, the encouragement from his father still an awkward realization. Too bad he'd been a disappointment, considering they had had that round-about talk months ago. "C'mon sis. I'd like to find this secret location sometime in my lifetime, if ya wouldn't mind..." His ears pinned, and he turned his head suddenly. Those were definitely footfalls he had just heard. But he couldn't find the source with only one good eye left to his name. "Issy....hold on." He didn't want her wandering too far if he didn't know if it was a threat or just a simple squirrel.
