....
Standing next to a simple shed by the corn field, you can see a somewhat tall moon hunter with a royal blue scarf holding a clipboard. His hair is almost like a certain lead’s but far less fabulous and not black on white. As you approach he smiles slightly. “Hey. If you’re here from the text message, that’s great. I was hoping some others would come too. But, I wanted to give trainees a bit of a head start.” He motions to the field. “Starting off with our most common and most useful tool- the Princess Carry.”
He looks around him for a moment, setting the clipboard down. A sack of potatoes behind him he grabs it and casually slings it over a shoulder. “Now this, is obviously not the princess carry. This is how we carry potatoes, or…” He take a deep breath. “Fallen hunters. It’s a carry you can use on the uninjured for fun but in battle, on the field, it leaves the one you’re carrying open to worse wounds, being hit again, and possibly hampering your own ability. If you have a dead weight on one side, you’re off balance, and you typically can’t see well over that person. “
Shifting the sack, he moved it to over his shoulders. “Now this is the fireman’s carry. It’s actually one of the most useful ways to carry a person. It still leaves them exposed, but it helps distribute their weight more evenly allowing you to run more freely and with more confidence. It’s also helpful in the sense there is less jarring, meaning wounds don’t risk as much as if they were only over one shoulder. But if there is an actual fire? Heat and smoke rise, meaning it’s not the best. And if they have a spinal injury? You’re probably making it worse. It is the carry you use if princess isn’t quite viable, or, if the person is unconscious.”
Finally, he shifts the sack into his arms- “-Just like you carry a bride, or as we do, a princess.” He lifts the sack up, showing how he supports one half along with the other. “One arm under the knees, one for the back. This carry allows the person not only a bit of dignity, but it lets them see where they’re going if awake. Less movement in the carry itself means less jostling of their injuries. If they can swing an arm around your neck- it helps. If not, don’t worry. One large reason we use this carry on the field is that hunters don’t go down easy. Often they get immobilized or have a shield drop before they go out, and they can still fight back if only a little. By using over the shoulder, you prevent them from moving. Plus…Things cut into our FEAR shields before they cut into us. A princess carry?” He turns to expose his back. “It means that our shield will take attacks as we run, we don’t expose the injured as much.” He turns back, facing you. “This carry does require that you be larger than person you’re carrying typically, but as hunters we can often handle more than the average human. The carry also isn’t the most balanced, hence-“ He drops the sack of potatoes, which hit the ground in a loud thud. “Practice. It’s pretty simple though, grab a golem, and head in. Make a path from this end to the other. There are no markers in the field, meaning like many battle fields, you won’t always know where you’re going.”
A large grin forms on his face. “And I’ll be timing you. So grab a golem and good luck okay? Afterwards there will be milkshakes and snacks.”

Princess Carry 101
The course seems simple enough, pick up a princess golem and start running down a stretch of the corn field. There are only a few slight problems however. Not only does your princess golem look like a fellow hunter, they weigh on average around 150 pounds, (with of course the occasional exception). They sing Disney songs off key. The dress is bulky and hard to get a proper grip on. Oh, and there might be a few traps in the corn field.
Try to see what traps are in the coin field:
If Sun hunter:
If Moon hunter:
If Life hunter:
If Death hunter:
If Mist hunter:
Ask Marcus what is in the corn field:
If a moon hunter:
If any other division:
Ask if you can have a different princess:
“No.” The answer comes with a slight bite to his words. “In the field we don’t get to pick who we rescue. At times yes, you might have to make a calculated decision based on survival and who is, sadly, considered more of a priority for the mission itself. But here? No. You’re stuck with your princess. And leaving them to die just to get out is not a thing I would recommend.” He sighs. “Trust me, you’d not like the results.”
“But my golem is bigger than me!”

Try to see what traps are in the coin field:
If Sun hunter:
You see nothing. Your weapon cannot sense anything. But the corn stalks do look very breakable…
If Moon hunter:
You see nothing. However, your weapon senses the barest hint of FEAR coming from the right side of the field.
If Life hunter:
You notice broken branches for the corn stalks at one point of the entry. Like it’s the most commonly used path.
If Death hunter:
You notice that one the ground there are footprints in the mud, but they are coming from the field rather than going in. A nearby set of prints can be seen as well and from the depth, they were carrying something heavier than a golem.
If Mist hunter:
You notice the princess golem in your arms has a small broken leaf of corn stuck in their dress. How’d that get there?
Ask Marcus what is in the corn field:
If a moon hunter:
”Typical things we encounter. There are some variants in the terrain, a few small pits and rocks to trip you up. Some basic tripwires along with shadowlings. I might have asked for some mines and few distracting light and sound installations. Just focus on keeping the golem safe and getting to the end. Don’t worry. You’ll do fine, I’m sure.” He smiles but really, his smile doesn’t seem too reassuring.
Ask how he got everything:
Ask how he got everything:
”For the tech? I told the death and life divisions they could install as many cameras as they wanted…. So basically when you mess up somebody will laugh, which happens on most the other courses anyway. Rest I set up and built. It’s pretty basic trap wise, simple construction.” He waves it off. “Look, don’t worry about it. This is what we do. You’ll be fine.”
If any other division:
”It’s pretty much the moon’s version of deathsweeper. Only you know. Less deady.” He shrugs. “At the very least I can promise you won’t be set on fire.” He looks at the field. “Probably.”
Ask if you can have a different princess:
“No.” The answer comes with a slight bite to his words. “In the field we don’t get to pick who we rescue. “But my golem is bigger than me!”
He rolls his eyes. “Fine, trade out. I’ll make an exception given that it’s not common on the battlefield anyway.”

HOW TO PLAY
*Note: Though I wrote this mostly for trainees, (geared for moons cuz Marcus own divis), ANYONE IS OPEN TO PLAY
Step One: Rolling your Golem
Princess golems should be rolled from the hunter list. If you don’t know who you rolled? That is part of the game. No re-rolls, (THE ONLY EXCEPTION being that the golem rolled is at least 7 inches taller than your hunter and significantly bigger in size). This should be done in your intro post. Golems are supplied from a small storage shed lined with runes. If you look inside, souless eyes stare back at you.
Step Two: Escape the Field
The corn field is in a wide strip, and overgrown with stalks and weeds, there is low visibility. You’ll need to overcome five obstacles before you can find the other end and safely escape with your princess! Each Princess golem has 20 HP.
BONUS MECHS:
-- Moon trainees gain 1 save, which prevents HP loss. However, this does not further their progress.
--If you find the safe zone (roll a 6) You can avoid an HP loss once. This does not stack and can only be used once per run.
Rolling 1 d10 five times, match your roll to results below:
1- A bright strobe flashes in front of your eyes, nearly blinding you. However, you manage to press on. (Pass)
2- You lose you footing over thick mud and rock, jostling your golem painfully. -5 HP
3- Running down what appears to be a used path, you see skid marks up ahead. Slowly down you barely notice the tripwire in time. (Pass)
4- A giggle, you hear it before you see it, a small shadowling hitting the princess golem before a single hit dissipates it. -5 HP
5- Your princess sings and you swear you can hear a shadowling crying from how bad it is. Still, you manage to keep going. (Pass)
6- A small circle of flattened stalks, you see it’s surrounded by runic daggers. +1 save!
7- Landmine! It sends out a sharp blast of FEAR at you and the golem. -10 HP!
8- A shuffle behind you, you see a shadowling from the corner of your eye. It takes a bite from your fear shield but the princess is safe! (Pass)
9- A thud nearby startles you but you manage to keep your footing on the slippery muddy ground. (Pass)
10- As you run you trip over a wire, sending your princess golem into a pit and hitting you with a clod of dirt. Ow. -5 HP
If your golem dies
they begin to break apart leaving you carrying around a pretty princess dress. You can find the exit rather easily soon after, along with Marcus giving you a sad smile and a quick pat on the shoulder. You can have some cookies and milkshakes for trying at least.
If you abandon your golem for whatever reason
You hear a sharp scream from the golem as soon as they are out of sight. If you go back? All you find is the dress. As you exit Marcus is glaring at you and sharply informs you to either try again, or leave. You also are not allowed any milkshakes or cookies.
If you manage to make it out, princess intact
Marcus grins and happily takes the golem off your hands, (who enthusiastically waves good bye and blows you a kiss). Marcus then gives you a firm pat on the back along, a loud congrats and the suggestion to see if you can’t do it again tomorrow. You get a milkshake with sprinkles as well.
