NAME Piro Arepove
AGE Appears to be late 20s
OCCUPATION Two-bit noble, amateur writer, apprentice mortician
FAMILY Piro comes from a large family in the Wardwood equivalent of France. He lives in a slightly ramshackle, run-down ancestral manor house in the moorlands, with his mother (who is a hedgewitch), several siblings, and a few cousins.
One of his cousins recently started up a mortuary business in Palisade, and has been making successful progress at it. Piro has recently taken a mild interest in it and so could be considered, if one were to be generous, an 'apprentice.'

APPEARANCE In the minds of those given over to fairy stories, or those who worry about the spirits of the Wood roaming at night, Piro appears as something to step out of such stories: his skin is milk-pale, his hair is black and hangs in curls down his back, and he has pale blue eyes. The end result of this is that Piro knows he is more beautiful than a great many women out there, and takes pains with his appearance and general upkeep. He is vain, he will admit, but he is vain for a reason.
He is often seen in what would be called shabby chic in today's society: the clothes of a noble, kept well, but just a month or two out of fashion, or with barely-noticible evidence of threads being replaced, or a cuff turned just so to hide a bare patch.
He is also quite slender and slim, in the usual fashionable way of young men his age -- but there is a peculiar slimness to Piro, which might be labeled as consumptive were he not so healthy. His waist is nearly as small as a maiden's.
PERSONALITY To most of the people of Palisade, Piro comes off as cold, removed, withdrawn; while this is somewhat true, most of it is a mask. Piro is talented in presenting one face to the world when underneath is an entirely different one. He is a natural born mediator and diplomat, when he cares to be so, but he is most often too cold and too reserved to bother.
Underneath his carefully cultivated facade, he is a young man of admittedly peculiar interests -- not too many people have even a shred of interest in becoming a mortician, nor do most young men have that small a waist. He enjoys writing and usually carries around a battered journal, and around a certain few people he opens up completely into a smiling and quite considerate young man.
It happens rarely.
SKILLS Piro is a born moderator and diplomat, is quite good with things requiring great manual dexterity, is a moderately talented writer, and a passable actor.
HISTORY Piro's family came from the Wardwood equivalent of France, where they were small-time landed gentry. After the death of Monsieur Arepove, Piro's family -- gathered up and headed by his mother -- came to Sunderland with their remaining money and the rest of the family, making their living off of the remnants of their savings and Madam Arepove's talents as a hedgewitch.
Two years ago one of the cousins -- there are a few -- opened a mortuary business, located in one of the older portions of Palisade. Fortunes may be turning around, and would do so more if Piro would ever sell a manuscript...

ODILE is a dainty doe, with a pleasingly compact body and long, fine legs. She has an unnerving tendency to look at people and seem to look through them, and she perhaps does not blink as much as she ought. She takes great pleasure in spying on people and turning up in places she should not be.
Despite her inherent, unsettling personality traits, she is good-natured and protective of Piro, at times echoing his cold restraint, and at other times traipsing through life with a gleeful glitter in her eyes.
