Dief snuffled the ground with excitement. It would seem the weather was becoming cooler which was an odd occurrance as it was usually warm. Snout in the air he left out a delighted bark, which also was unusal thing for him to do. He couldn't help himself as cooler weather was better than hot in his opinion. He decided to take a break being "Miss Manners", a horrid nickname he had required a while back by a stranger, and let his fur down so to speak. Maybe if he was lucky enough the white stuff he saw a very long time ago would fall from the sky and he could try to check it.
He was use to the Rogue lands now and the thought of PekeNa no longer brought a pang of sorrow to his heart. Time heals all wounds he supposed... well that and the possibility for adventure as well as meeting some interesting characters on his journey.

She tried to shiver the cold off of her body, but it was just no use. Never in her life had she experienced temperatures this low, and well .. she never wanted to witness them again. She missed the warmth of the sun, and with a pang of sadness glimpsed up at the cloudy sky above. The sun was there, but it wasn't doing its job.
Perhaps it was broken?
Ugh, she hoped not. To have to live this way forever was the last thing she ever wanted to have to imagine. All around her were trees, which offered shade, something you didn't really want when it was cold out. Oh what she would do for a nice open space right about now. Somewhere that she could stretch out and enjoy the day ...
Her heart skipped a beat as she remembered the last time she had actually lounged on a rock. It seemed like just yesterday, but it had been at least a month since she'd left home. Her pack had disbanded, and her family was moving on. She wanted to stay with them, but she knew, if she didn't move on now she might never get the chance. So she had, she'd said her goodbyes, locked her emotions down deep and dashed swiftly into the rogue lands.
Right about now, she was really regretting that decision ... if only she were a pup still .. she could cuddle up to Mom and Dad and just doze off in their warm fur ...

The white stuff was coming down harder now and he shook his fur to dispell the little things causing his fur to wetten. He eyed the skies critically, it would appear that the weather would get worse. No sun could be seen through the thick clouds. "Best find shelter soon or be lost in such horrible weather," His ears flickered now and then to sounds of the wind as well as small creatures running to varies individual homes.
Sometime later he certainly was being to doubt finding a place to stay in for a couple of days... it looked like this storm was going to be a dosey."It certainly is picking up." He gasped out when he was pushed against by a strong invisible force. "Oh dear!" Brown eyes blinked and he almost missed it. There in the distance something glowed, it looked questionable but he wasn't really in a position to complain. He hurried towards the glow determined.

Out of nowhere it happened. White stuff falling from the sky! Like rain, but it wasn't rain. Though it did make her fur wet and chilly. Coldfeet shivered against the cold, realizing it wasn't in her favor to continue roaming during this strange, alien like weather. Coldfeet's breath formed clouds around her, and she let out a slight chuckle at the thought. She was smoking, what a strange thing! Her silly expression quickly changed though as a loud wind blew against her coat. She could feel the chill down to her bones, and her teeth began to chatter. "G-Got-t-to find somewhere to warm up."Pushing on through the cold weather, for a split second she could have sworn she heard a noise. Her ears perked near instantly, as she glanced around from side to side, but came across nothing. Weird She thought, as she shrugged her shoulders heavily. If it weren't for the cold atmosphere around her, she might have been able to catch a quick scent before the male was right on top of her.

Glowstone. The word crossed his mind in awe, it certainly was a beautiful thing to look at but he had been hoping for something in a warmer aspect. His brown nose twitched as he took in a soft flowery scent but it was gone with a wisp of crisp air. The cave he had took shelter in was luckily dry further back, but the noise was disconcerning. It was almost as if a giant beast were howling their unhappiness. He shuddered as his imagination took over. "Non-sense," He tried to shake off the weird feeling and looked around for some twigs. It would be better once some warmth filled his bones.
He should have been more prepared. Now he was stuck in a cave with no food or warmth until the nasty business outside was done. A sound from outside interrupted his inner berating. A whine was heard and that scent was back. "Better go investigate." He moved with caution and grace to the lip of the cave. It certainly was nice to have the glowstone around, it made things easier to see. "Oh dear." There on the ground was a wet wrangled wild dog like himself. Instinct made him act and he bent down to wake the other. Oh, a female. When the other didn't stir he was forced to lift and carry her on his back. Once he had her settled on some dry leaves he began to warm up the area before walking over and laying next to her to give body heat.

The cold has taken its toll, and as a result here she was nearly unconscious in the snow. It took everything she had to keep her eyes open, but soon she lost that battle too. Quickly slipping away into a cold, miserable sleep. She woke what felt like minutes later, no longer surrounded by the strange white stuff outside. Instead she was in a damp, but much dryer place probably a cave. Looking around her, she began to mumble incoherently, Something she typically did to calm herself down. On further investigation she noticed the fluffy body wrapped around her ... oh how warm it was.... BUT WAIT! Doing a double take, Coldfeet quickly jumped to her feet with a yelp. Staggering a bit as she stood there, she tried to make sense of the situation. There was a wild dog beside her! Well he was now on the ground before her, but still he was there! But who was he and how had she gotten there? More importantly why was he wrapped around her so .... closely?! Stammering the words she managed only a few words before her confusion took control of her. "W-who are you? Where am I?" Jerking her head from side to side, she confirmed it was indeed a cave. Inwardly she sighed a sigh of relief at the welcome new territory. Though she wasn't too sure about the wild dog she was with, the cave was definitely a welcome relief.

His ears flickered at the noise and he turned his head in concern. He watched as the female next to him struggle to wake up from her forced slumber of conscienceness. He was about to open his mouth to soothe her as he had done for the pass hour or so but her reaction forced his mouth to stay open for a minute longer than what was polite. She certainly was an excitable one and he put on a calm expression. "My name is Diefenbaker but most call me Dief," He rose up to a sitting position slowly as not to startle the other canine anymore than she already was. "As for where you are... we are in the rogue lands. I found this cave by pure chance as the weather has taken a turn for the worst-" The angry howl of wind broke through his pause as if to reinforce its presence. "-as you probably well know. From what I've gathered it is not going to stop atleast for a day or two more. I do not recommend wandering around out there until the weather has calmed down. And you would be? " His mind was already thinking of possibilities of what they could gather to eat or things to use to keep warm.

This was all a bit much for the female to take in, and as a result her worry played right on her face. She quivered at the cold that was now beginning to creep back in. But she couldn't be worried with it now, she had to gauge this male's threat level. Peering into his eyes, she could see little more than honest concern there. His pose left little to worry over, and with a heavy sigh she loosened her stance. Allowing her weak muscles to relax as he continued his explanation. "C-Coldfeet." She managed to mumble, as she tried to place her thoughts together. After a brief moment she quickly added on. "That's my name! My feet aren't actually cold ..." Of course, that wasn't necessarily the truth, but she was far from begging this new male for his warmth once again. "How did I get here Diefenbaker?" Using his full name against his wishes, she looked to him curiously. She had heard him loud and clear, but something about calling a stranger by a nickname ... well it struck her as a little odd. "The last thing I remember, is that white stuff and being really cold..."

His ears twitched as he listened. The name... the wording of it. So like the one he had gained before he had left PekeNa. "Are...are you from PekeNa?" He rushed on once he saw her startled expression. "I say that because quite honestly I used to live their. Honorablelaw was my wolfname-" He noted the use of his fullname and filed it away mentally; Being too friendly can cause uncomfortableness. "-ah yes. Well you see I was trying to get away from this horrible weather. I found this cave-" He gestured to the glowstones that were currently lighting the area. "-I was just getting ready to rest when I heard a noise from outside, you, and desided to investitage."
" As soon as I saw you crumpled on the ground I picked you up and brought you here to warm up which leads us to now. You weren't unconscious for very long. How does your head feel? Stomach? If I had furs to offer I would but sadly I lack blankets. Lost in the storm while I was trying to find shelter." The wind hissed its way into the cave from the entrance. "Hopefully we can find something to keep warm. I was thinking about exploring the cave deeper but didn't want to leave you alone in such a way."
Depawsit emotion_facepalm I forgot about this...sorry!

The small mention of home, was what did it for her. It calmed her nerves, and put her at ease. She knew those of her pride were not bad, in any sense of the word. It was OK, she could trust this male. Offering him a small smile, she nodded shyly at his words. "Yes actually I am. My whole family was from there. Before ... before everyone left." An ache in her gut caught her off guard, but she knew exactly what it was. Homesickness, but sadly there was so little she could do about it.
As she listened to his explanation, Coldfeet's smile only grew. It was just as she had expected, he was a good fella. Nothing at all to fear from him.
"Thank you Dief. I hate to think of what might have happened to me out there if you hadn't shown up."
"I-If you don't mind, i'd like to come with you ... to explore I mean ... who knows! We might something to keep us warm?"

Dief could sympathize, it was difficult to loose things that you didn't want to be gone. He still had his family, but it wasn't the same. "You are very welcome," His smiled caused his eyelids to close for a moment. "It certainly would have been unpleasant. Alright," He stood on all fours and sniffed the air. His companions scent in the air gave off a lovely feminine scent causing him to blush and he shook himself, "Follow me then and stay close I don't smell anything that could harm us but you never know. The further we go down the less likely we will get hit by the cold wind and it looks like the glow stone shines on for miles so darkness won't be a problem. To be honest I could use a bit of rest myself-" He yawned quietly as he had been up keeping watch on Coldfeet. "-so let's wander for a little while and hope to come across something that will provide comfort."

Coldfeet now trusting the male enough to listen to what he had to say, silently nodded in agreement to his words. She would follow him anywhere as long as it meant she was safe, and at the moment that seemed like a safe bet. As she stood there prepared to follow him through the cave, she couldn't help but giggle at his small yawn. It was .. cute, very puplike but also extremely adorable. "You've got it, and by the looks of that yawn we better find it soon." She smiled shyly, trying to look away from the male who was becoming more attractive by the second. "Alright lets get a move on!" Nearly yelping the words, she gently headbutted Dief in his hind legs. Tara de Draiocht Shall we end it here? Or would you like to continue?
