When Roch didn't show up to class, the Danny spidey sense kicked in. Of course, it meant her skipping class as well to go find him, but nevermind that.
First place to check was his dorm- that just made sense. She could hear him snoring inside and rolled her eyes. He didn't even think to lock the door, so Danny waltzed in as though the room was her own house. With how much time she spent over here, it might as well be.
Instead of politely waking up the boil on the bed, or waiting for him to wake up, she just flopped onto his outstretched body. Clearly the best way to greet a friend.

Roch grunted--and because they'd been best friends for years now, said, "JACKDAMMIT DANNY!" before he even bothered to open his eye. "Does your boilfriend know you attack other boils while they're sleeping?" he demanded. Yes, brilliant comment--if he hadn't said it a million times before.
He looked like s**t. His room stank, and his usually spartan type living was a mess. There were dirty clothes and plates scattered all over the place. He didn't seem to care. "A'least scoot over," he muttered, trying to roll onto his side.

Danny didn't seem to mind the mess- her entire room was a stationary trashcan considering she'd never had to clean for herself before Amity. The smell wasn't to be desired, but at the moment she was too focused on teasing Roch, blissfully unaware that anything was wrong with the boil. She didn't pick things up well.
Rolling over, she ruffled his mohawk hair and said, "I don't attack boils!" Danny was thinking punching and kicking, which she certainly didn't do. "And why would Rikki need to know ..."
Turning on her side she reached up out of curiosity to touch Roch's jaw. "Dude you totally need to shave," she commented. Danny was a good friend, clearly.

"Yeah?" Roch said, reaching up and touching his chin. "Jack, is it comin' in blonde?" he asked, dreading that answer. "Last thing I want is t'show off the blonde," he complained. But he didn't get out of bed. Usually in a case of hair problems he'd be up like a shot to go to the bathroom and get it fixed.
Man was he depressed.

Danny leaned in real close and squinted. "Yeah I think it is." Suddenly she threw her head back in laughter, kicking and thrashing the blankets around.
"Oh my Jack what if you had like a blonde beard and purple hair. You'd look so stupid oh Jack do it do it do it." Danny noted that Roch didn't fix it, but didn't think much of it. Clearly he wanted to stay where she was because they were best friends forever and he was finally seeing how awesome she was.
Yes clearly.

He grunted, picturing the same thing as her and pulling a face. "Yeah, that'd look stupid as hell," he muttered. "Maybe I'll dye it purple."
Which would look just as stupid. "I'll shave it later. I'm sleeping now," he muttered. It was way past the point where he should have been awake, even if he'd been out all night--which he hadn't.

Danny tilted her head, as strange as that was while lying sideways. "You're awake ..." He wasn't sleeping, so there.
Besides, Roch had class. Had he maybe forgotten? She sometimes forgot. "But you have class and stuff? Screamology? Remember we sit in the back kinda and Amphi's sorta towards the side and Mitzi is behind us ..." Maybe describing the situation in the classroom would help
"You can't sleep," she concluded, nodding her head. "Especially when you need to shave."

Danny cocked an eyebrow at Roch and peeked over his turned shoulder. He was acting really weird today. Not wanting to see Amphi? She could understand it, but Amphi was great.
"Something happen?" she asked, jabbing his back with an elbow.

"We're... uh... takin' a break from datin'," he said, not looking at her. His jaw tightened and he went a bit too still for a moment. "She's... I don't even get it, Danny. I just... DON'T. I mean... I love her, but I don't get her."

Ah yes, the break. Danny knew the break very well. She sat up and rolled over Roch so she was off the bed, looking up at him laying down.
"How come? Don't what?" This unsettled her. She liked Amphi, she liked Amphi a lot. But if Amphi did something to Roch ... Even Danny had a sense of foreboding doom.

"I don't want you t'get mad at her," Roch said quietly. "Y'know, like how I got pissed off when you an' Rikki broke up. It just... it ain't right. So I don't think I should tell y'why we're takin' a break. It just... hurts," he said finally. "An' I don't know how t'deal with it, Danny. I ain't even hungry."
That was tantamount to a death declaration or something when it came from the punk boil's lips.

"Why would I get mad at her?" Danny asked with more than a hint of worry in her voice. Amphi was nice. Amphi wouldn't do anything like that to Roch ... would she?
Her chin on the very edge of the bed, Danny wasn't really sure what to do. She'd never been very good at love advice- same as Roch. They didn't do this kind of stuff. All she could say was, "Not even a pizza with bat wings on it?"

He laid there. It was getting hot (and not in the sexy way) and he was starting to feel the itch of his beard. "Y'know..." he said quietly. "I don't get love, Danny. I think when it's all said an' done, it's just a lot of pain." He reached up, scratching his cheek. "An' when I put it that way, well, ain't nothin' I've not dealt with before, is it?"
He yawned and pushed her to the side so he could get off the bed. Then dressed in only a pair of boxers, he headed for the bathroom. "An' I want a smoothie with that pizza!"

Danny quickly moved out of the way, lest Roch's gross uncleaned self even got slightly close to her. Dude had cooties.
"I dunno, I think that's kinda wrong. Rikki doesn't make me feel pain or whatever." Except when he won at Maul of Duty. That was true pain. "And ... you're happier with Amphi."
She hissed at the idea of a smoothie as she dialed the pizza man they both had on speed dial. As Roch cleaned herself she made the order to their dorm room, sans smoothie.
