Appearance: Small and wiry, Kallista is lean with strong legs and defined muscle due to many runs. Overtime, as she has matured, her body has developed a little more curve to it though her hips and breast will always be small. Though petite, she is very tough-skinned and can handle heavy burdens not to mention spirited beasts as well. Her hair is reddish-brown that curls at the ends and gets coppery highlights in the summer. It is currently cut short, about mid-neck. Kallista has slanted eyes that are a hazel color and tend to go more green when she is upset. Her lashes are thin as are her eyebrows and her nose is a little long. It turns down slightly. Her lips are well shaped and a light pink in color. Skin tone is a ivory beige that darkens in the summer with a light scattering of freckles. She prefers loose pants and tops so that she does not overheat on when exercising or doing drills. Her favorite colors are greens and light browns. She is roughly 5'5" in height and about 120ish pounds.

Personality: A diamond in the rough. That is the best way to describe Kallista. She can be sunshine and smiles one minute, serious and smart mouthed the next. She never lets anyone know what she is truly thinking. As a runner and messenger, she has learned to blend not only her looks but her mannerisms and speech as well. She adheres to the runner's code as well as her own personal morals-having them being strongly impressed upon her at an early age. In her mind tradition is tradition only when it helps out craft hall, hold and weyr. Knowing that change is sometimes needed in order to preservation, she looks to her father and brothers as examples on how to act. Kallista is always respectful of those who are her elders or higher ranked than her.

Since Impressing, Kallista has matured into a serious, quiet woman whose loyalties run deep. She lets Astarteth do the talking that needs to be done when it comes to making random talk and chatter. Because of her lack of interaction with others, Kallista may come off as haughty or cold, even though she is a really pleasant person to be around. It doesn't help that she doesn't try to seek out social interaction with others. When back at Ista, there were plenty of gossips and those who liked nothing better than to stir trouble and because of this, she is very reluctant to trust anyone with personal details. When she is around others in her wing, she is known as someone who sits in the background but knows all the answers when asked later.

Once Kallista sets her mind to a task or idea, she is dedicated to it and will follow through until she determines it is over. While this is a good thing when it comes to work, finishing tasks in her personal life, and caring for her dragon it doesn't sit well when she makes a judgement about someone. First impressions are everything to Kallista, and barring weird circumstances, she believes that the first foot you put forward is the one you always walk with in life. This means, because of her preference to stay in the background, and her tendency to judge, she may miss out on the chance to know some really nice people. But hey, if they really wanted to know her, they would make the effort to speak with her or get to know her better without dragons around. Hopefully, moving to a new weyr will allow her to break out of that shell more.

With her few friends she does have (though none really at Igen yet), she likes to tease and play. Though she doesn't enjoy the water, she does enjoy running and going on long flights to stretch her wings (and Astar's!). And she also enjoys playing a small flute and though she can't sing one bit, she loves humming with the Harpers any time they play. With Astarteth, she is completely open. She doesn't have her guard up nor does she play at hiding her feelings. At these moments, she really shines through and almost seems pretty.

History:Born is a runner hold in Ista, Kallista's parents migrated to Southern when her father decided to take up with others and work under a new Station Master near Southern Hold. This took place when she was four turns old. Soon Master Orasel, from the Station near Ista, passed on and Byrad was asked to come back and take over as the Station Master. Things were going along nicely, with the occasional prejudiced remarks towards the dragon riders, but business was always good. But one day her father refused to use his services to a dissatisfied small holder who was bad mouthing the dragon riders; in retaliation, their station was vandalized. Compensated by Hold and Weyr, Byrad has made it very clear that anyone who disrespects the Weyr or Ista will have their messages ignored. Once Kallista hit the age of twelve, she began to go on runs with her brothers. When she was fourteen, she went on a run with her mother-they were caught in a flash flood and Kamorie was washed away. Kallista delivered her mother's message and then collapsed in shock. She woke up days later, no longer speaking of her mother or the event.

Two turns later, Kallista was on a run when she was stopped by a dragon rider who happened to be on a Search at the hold she was at... Of all the people there, the green chose her to try and Impress. And when the next clutch was laid, Kallista stood and Impressed green Astarteth. The two did fine for a while in Ista, making friends and going through life with ease. But then Ista started getting overcrowded and a plague of random body pests, Ista started sending some of extra riders & dragons to other weyrs. When asked, giving options of where to be sent, Kallista wanted to stay close to Ista and chose Igen. Though she had heard rumors about how Igen behaved and it's attitude towards women/outsiders, Kallista believed that she could handle it and with Astarteth's confidence, the two have settled into a new Weyr.
