In a flash of bright blue and purple Isi Anowa lept over a riverbed, her long deer-like legs propelling her up and over the water in a graceful arch. She landed with a soft thud, causing the snow on the ground to fly into the air. Making very little noise, she moved forward further into the forest.

She didn't know where she was. Come to think of it, she didn't even know who she was. She knew her name was Isi Anowa. That was all. She peeked through the trees, peering into the darkness and silence of the snowy forest. It was peaceful here; she supposed it wasn't a terrible place to be lost. But then again, maybe she wasn't lost. Maybe this was where she had lived before she had forgotten everything. Maybe this was her home.

She tossed her purple mane and looked around at the frosty trees and at the icy river behind her. It seemed like a lovely place to call home, even if it was a little chilly. She smiled lightly at the snowflakes drifting down from the treetops as birds chattered above and felt content for a moment. But what about her family? Did she have a family? Did she have friends? Maybe this wasn't home, after all. If it were, she would not be alone...would she? Perhaps she was the only one left of her species. Perhaps she had missed the end of the world. Doubtful. She moved forward calmly, hoping to find some signs that she was not completely alone in this world.

It always started out this way. A soft hum of a tune but before before long Blizten would break out into loud chorus of Jingle bells, his favorite melody. The joyful stallion trotted through the snow, his clef hooves making impressions in the snow covered trail.

He was oblivious to the world around him as he teeter the Christmas wreath on the bark on the forest trees. The wreath covered in gold and silver tinsel were of his own design, he stood back and admired his work once the wreath had managed to stay on. As he watched it a smile of satisfaction crept onto his face.

Though it didn't last long, as the ground began to tremble and caused the wreath to fall down and hit the ground with a loud thud. The wreath remained still on the ground as he went to pick it up gently with his teeth. He again trotted over to the tree and attempted to hang his creation, taking no notice to what could of caused the tremble.

If Santa could see him know, spreading the joy of Christmas to the world he would be so proud.

She thought she heard...Jingle Bells? That must have been the song. The tune sounded vaguely familiar to her, and she pursued it with great interest. She approached him just as he had hung the wreath the first time, but accidentally tripped over a tree root, causing the wreath to fall. She quickly hid behind the trees so as not to be seen, hoping he would sing again.

Was it Christmas time? She barely remembered what Christmas was. She definitely didn't remember if the holiday had had any meaning for her in the past. She peeked around the tree silently at the merry stallion, debating with herself on whether or not to reveal her presence. She decided to observe him a little longer, just to be sure that he was a safe individual despite all of the friendly humming. His hooves were split like hers, deer like and optimal for traveling. His ears were also similar to hers. Perhaps they were related? She doubted that, but it was comforting to see someone like her. Her eyes digested the full potential of his antlers, and she backed away a little nervously at the sight of the towering things.

"Hmmm" Blizten turned his head to look over his shoulder. A small flicker of blue caught his eye. Swiveling around he turned and walked past the cart of wreaths and peered into the forest.

"Helloooooo" He called out with joy. Oh how he loved to meet others. He then was able to proudly show off his new additions to the forest. He moved side to side to see past the tree to where the blue had been. Dipping his head slightly her peered around the thick tree stump.

"Boo!" He exclaimed and jumped to face the mare. His tail wiggled from side to side as he faced her. He had yet to see one so blue around here, but he was drawing to the holly in her mane. His eyes twinkled with excitement.

She jumped a little, startled that he had noticed her and found her so quickly. She supposed it would always be hard for her to hide because of her bright blue pelt. But she judged by the wiggling tail that he had no malicious intents. She couldn't help but smile a little despite her situation. "Excuse me...but...I thought I heard...Jingle Bells. Is it Christmas time?" she asked, fully taking in his appearance now that he was so close. He smelled of gingerbread, and a hint of pine she thought. Very Christmasy. She could remember that at least. That was a plus. She smiled at him fully now, not as nervous to be around him now that she knew he was of no danger to her.

"What are you doing?" she asked, peering around him and the trees to look at his cart of wreaths.

"Oh its my favorite tune! It was recently Christmas, but I think that if the snow should be around why not my fabulous wreaths! Do you know it well, Jingle Bells I mean?" Blizten eagerly leaned forward not concerned with personal space.

He tossed his head to one side causing his mane to fly upwards the soft snow which had land on his mane was cast into the air, like mini snowflakes. "It might be a tad strange that I believe so strongly in Christmas, though that was only due to my time with Santa. I feel my purpose is to bring joy and happiness to all I meet."

He blushed slightly as it dawned on him that he barely know this mare. He tried to laugh of his excitement in a causal tone.
"Haha bet you think its a tad silly." The soft blush still a red tint on his brown hair.

"No...I used to be...I think...it sounds familiar but...I don't know," she said, a frown appearing on her face. She had known the title of his song. And what Christmas was. She took that as a good sign, considering that she couldn't really remember anything else. Perhaps this was a clue. She thought hard about the song. But after some time and being unable to recall the words, she figured it had just been a familiar tune to her in the past. It was no real indicator of who she was. She sighed in frustration but smiled so as not to alarm the stallion who was so joyful and cheerful. She didn't want to make his life stressful just because she was having difficulties.

She watched the snow from his mane drift back down to the ground. "No, I don't think it's strange to have something to believe in. I wish I did...Who is Santa?" she asked. That was one thing that just didn't serm to click in her mind. But he was so excited about this individual that it sparked some interest for her. She blushed, embarrassed that she was clueless.

Blizten moved forward shock registering on his face.
"Santa!, He is the great father of Christmas! He brings joys to the world
through laughter and toys to all the girls and boys." He then smiled and
moved next to the mare ushering her forward to the wreath cart.

In the cart was a pile of wreaths each decorated in silver and gold, some with bells and others had holly. He pointed his noes towards the holly.
"You see here, this is holly, a beautiful plant and it is very closely linked to this time of year. I love to use it in my wreaths due to the red berries it seems to brighten them up. You also have holly you may have accidentally caught it through the forest,or you have a deeper connection to Christmas. I believe you know the song, you might just need help remembering."
His voice was gentle and his eyes still twinkling but held a serious look.

He blushed softly but was very pleased at the same time.
"Can I help you re learn it if you like?"

She supposed Santa might have sounded familiar. He definitely should if he was the father of Christmas and she knew about that.

She looked up at the holly in her mane, a flash of red from the berries catching her eye. She couldn't believe she hadn't seen it before. That or she had just been too much in a panic to really notice it. She smiled. If horses had lips she could just kiss him from the pure joy of receiving a clue about herself from him. Her eyes sparkled at the holly on the wreaths in the cart and they seemed to envelope her in a warm hug, they seemed to pull her in and cradle her in their arms.

It was cold, she could feel the wind on her legs. She was...smaller than normal. That or the world was bigger...no, she was definitely smaller. She looked around her, but things were fuzzy. She heard soothing voices, a male and a female. She stood between the two voices, wrapped in their warmth and caring. She saw the holly descending towards her, and felt it as it was wrapped into her hair. "Thank you. Thank you very much," she said.

The flashback faded, and she found herself saying the same thing to the festive stallion who stood next to her. "Thank you. Thank you very much," she blinked up at him, smiling as if nothing had happened "I would love to re-learn the song. Please teach me mister...um...What is your name?" She had been so absorbed in her own world that she had forgotten to ask his name and give her own. How rude of her.

"Oh I'm Blizten" He moved close and wiggled his tail in joy
"and you are? I haven't been around here long, though I use to live here when I was a foal. How long have you been travelling?"

He tilted his head as he spoke, wanting to learn as much as he could about this mare. She had a little lost look in her eyes as she paused in her conversation and he wanted to ensure she had a twinkle like a snowflake instead.

He took a deep breath and sung out loud!

"Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bobtail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight!"

His voice was clear and jolly an his cheeks rosy.

"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way..." she barely let a sound out of her mouth, thinking about the words as she sang them. What little noise did escape her was light and high-pitched, but pretty sounding to her own ears. She looked at Blizten, grasping for the next bunch of lyrics hopelessly.

"My name is Isi. Isi Anowa," she said with a slight smile at his excitement. He had a familiar name, and his happiness and cheer was extremely comforting.

"I've been traveling for...Oh my I've forgotten that as well..." she mumbled, looking at the ground awkwardly and with a frown. She had been traveling for a while now. After waking up she had gone exploring and then had decided to go on the journey to find her memories, but she couldn't remember how long ago that had been. Days? Weeks? It couldn't be months. Could it? Had she just been wandering in circles and continually forgetting the passing of time again and again? No, it was more likely that she had just not been paying attention.
