Today, she took the day off. Rosalie had chosen to wear something other than her usual working garb, looking far more cleaned up than usual, though kept the same messy bun. She liked it, it was easy, and she wasn't going to spend hours making herself up like a doll. After all, the only reason to do that was to perhaps find herself being courted. But that wasn't the reason for today, oh no. Today she finally had enough spending money to expand her collection of books, and enough time had passed that perhaps a few more new ones would be stocked upon the shelves. The trip wasn't made alone, however, a rather graceful Aelius keeping just behind her. He enjoyed going out every now and then, and also wanted a say in which books his chosen would be getting. After all, they would be reading them together. It was only a short stroll away from her shop to the bookstore, though it seemed Aelius wouldn't be able to accompany Rosalie inside today, as it was rather crowded. He took a seat by the door, yawning and starting to laze in the sun as she entered.

A venture to the bookstore was common for little Eluf. Since he'd found himself enamored with the soldier that guarded the jewelry store, he'd been even more drawn to books of romance, and love. He'd always fancied them, but they took on a whole new level and side, now that he finally could truly understand their voices. It was his first time being in such a state, and in a way to sate his excitement for when the soldier was to leave work for the day, Eluf decided a bookstore would be an excellent place to visit.
He'd done all his work at home for the day, thus had been left to his own devices as usual. And as always, traveling alongside him, was Axe. The large, powerful guardian didn't allow anyone to get too close to the beautiful little chosen without consent, fierce glares threatening, intimidating mass repelling. Though it did always bother the buck when Eluf would go indoors. Animals were not allowed inside buildings, thus he was always forced to stay outside and wait for the man to return to him. He had no way of watching over him, and protecting him from what dangers may lie behind closed doors... As the duo meandered up to the store, Eluf was surprised to spy another stag already outside. Another chosen was here? he'd never seen this guardian before.. so he could only assume he'd not met the individual tied to him. Any matter, a sweet smile was given to Aelius, before Eluf looked to Axe. Stroking the warm black neck in praise, he slipped into the bookstore to hopefully find more literature to add to his ever growing collection.
Axe stared right at Aelius as they arrived, showing no pleasure of the other male's presence. He puffed himself up even more, muscles flexing as he took a defensive position beside Eluf as he walked into the store. Clearly... he was not pleased... When his chosen was gone, Axe took to standing on the opposite side of the door from Aelius... but continued to watch him from the corner of his eye.

Aelius didn't even seem bothered by the other chosen and his guardian arriving in the area, settling down in the patch of street. He gave a slight grunt in greeting to Axe, though said no more, enjoying the simple pleasures of the sun upon his back. The male was obviously more relaxed, and not nearly as serious as the other was. Of course, that being said, it was likely Axe could easily best him in a battle. Within the small store, however, his chosen was at work piling up a small collection of perspective purchases. The shopkeep knew her well, and frankly, her patronage alone could probably keep him fed. She had no particular genre she enjoyed, though books pertaining to more fictional settings were of interest to her on this particular day. A few about neighboring countries had made their way into her basket as well, probably for more inspiration for her work than anything, though they were accompanied by a little more curious things. Dusty novels that hadn't been drawn from the shelves in months, the things many overlooked. Those were of particular interest to Rosalie Satre. In a moment of desire, she sidestepped several other customers and reached for a particularly beaten up book, up on the points of her toes to get at it. However, her height was doing her no good at the moment. The basket full of her desires was set down, and she hoisted herself up from the shelf to finally grab it. Though her feat was successful, her balance failed her at the final moment, and she stumbled down, landing on her feet. While a bit shaken, she picked up her basket again, adding it tenderly to the growing stack. It gained a few uneasy looks from the other residents of the store, though she didn't seem to mind. Books were treasure, after all.

Even though Eluf found the unknown guardian to be pleasant enough, Axe was relentless in his expression towards the other buck... showing clearly just how displeased he was with this company. It was rare that others of his kind were ever here.. and that's how he liked it. A few would pass by the two impressive creatures, earning a sharp glare from the black stag to keep them at bay.
Once he was inside Eluf gave a sweet smile to the employee's that were busy doing their duty's about the store. Some were re-stocking shelves with new literature, while others were checking what had just been shipped in for quality inspection. Today... he wasn't sure what he wanted to purchase.. but something nice, maybe something with a mix of he and Macaire's tastes. Maybe something the two of them could read... together. Blushing softly just at the thought of his companion, the young man quickly veered such thoughts to keep from delving further into them, and focused instead on the lovely array of books surrounding. But while he was perusing, his attention was instantly drawn to the sound of... some sort of commotion. It sounded like something had fallen! like others in the store, he quickly looked towards the source, surprised to see a woman had taken a tumble. Being taught manners as he had, and being a sweet man in general, he wasted no time in gracefully making his way over to her, extending a hand of assistance, "Are you alright, miss?" he asked, delicate brows knit faintly to create a look of concern.

The woman looked up at his hand, then at him. "Oh I'm fine...Thank you so much for your help." She took his hand, helping herself up. "I'm usually not so clumsy, but perhaps climbing isn't my strong suit." Her own hand was not as soft as most ladies, with a few calluses here and there, but it was the healed marks of burns that were most noticeable. She looked him over for just a moment, taking in his features, trying to read him. He was well dressed, better so than her, and he was nearly as pale as her. Rosalie gave a glance towards the door, meeting eyes with Aelius, making sure the buck was behaving. He gave a snort, nudging his head over towards the other side of the door. Was something else there? She realized how rude she was being and snapped her attention back to the young man before her. "I'm terribly sorry. He likes to wander off." She laughed a little nervously. "Thank you again for your help, Sir....?" The woman trailed off, curious as to the name of the young man. Perhaps she'd recognize it from somewhere....Perhaps she'd have a valuable customer one day.

It was very much a relief to see that the woman was not harmed in anyway from the little fall, a more relaxed expression taking to his fair features. Once she was up, he spared a small glance to the books that she possessed. But not to be too rude as to have his attentions focused entirely on them, he let his gaze rise back to meet hers... though she too seemed distracted.
Curiously, he looked over his shoulder to where he'd came, spying outside the window the buck that he'd seen while entering. Was that...? Ah, she answered his question before it could fully form! So then the stag was hers. His smile brightened a little with interest, looking back to her with an apologetic expression of his own, "My own seems to be a bit hostile.. I apologize if he makes your guardian uneasy at all." but his smile returned, "He is quite lovely, though, your buck."
Oh and there went his manners. Almost embarrassed that he'd forgotten to introduce himself, he gave a fluid bow to the woman, respectfully, "Eluf Torrell~" he replied, as he lifted himself upright, "Forgive my manners, miss. And you would be?"

She seemed a little surprised that she had by complete chance met another of the chosen, though tried to get a peek of his own for a split second, though stopped as he introduced himself. "Oh--Yes. He can be enough trouble on his own, though, I assure you." This was rather interesting. She had yet to meet another female chosen, and it seemed like she kept running in to them in the oddest places.... "Rosalie Satre. It's a pleasure Mr. Torrell. I did not expect to meet another chosen in such a place, though I'm not sure why I didn't." She gave a slight, and possibly awkward curtsey of her own, though the basket of books got in the way just a little bit. "And I doubt anything could bother Aelius at this moment. He's just happy to be out of the shop for today, and certainly even more happy that we'll have more books in the house." She gestured to the basket in her other arm, which was close to overflowing.

Even with her assurance, Eluf still wasn't too sure it was the woman's guardian he was so worried about as he was of his own. Axe just didn't get along with anyone it seemed asides from himself. Hopefully the buck could at least behave himself. "He was quite pleasant upon my entering." he replied sweetly. Perhaps such manners might rub off on Axe a little bit.
With introductions done, he gave a small cant of his head, pretty curls loosely tied with a bow slipping like silk over his shoulder. "Oh?" he wasn't quite sure what to think of that, since chosen's seemed to vary person to person, but he smiled anyway. "I quite enjoy literature, and often frequent this store when I have the spare time to." he replied, with a soft giggle, "Perhaps I spend too much time here." he had more than enough books, all he'd read from front to back, but... he could never find himself sated. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Satre. " at the mention of a store of her own, his interest was piqued, "Might I ask what shop that might be?"

"Aelius tends to be rather pleasant, though sometimes a little bit too friendly with my customers. I'm sure not all of them enjoy having a buck nudging at their legs to get attention of pats." She sighed, watching the door carefully. "This is my personal favorite out of the many book stores around here. There's always something peculiar in stock, and those tend to be my favorites." She nodded, averting her eyes from him with a slight smile. "Nonsense! There's never such a thing as too much time in a store of knowledge. I'm sure if you saw the amount of books in my own residence, you'd think it was a library!" Rosalie waved it off with a laugh of her own, though she wasn't far from the truth. "It's always a pleasure to meet another chosen, especially when it's completely by chance." She replied, hoisting the basket up a little to support it better. At the question of her occupation she wrung her hands a little, unsure if she was about to get another lecture on how ladies shouldn't be working at a forge. "Oh, I happen to own a metal works....My father taught me personally."

A chuckle was withheld as he imagined the lovely buck trying to gain the attention of incoming customers. Quite the opposite of Axe. But very similar to something Cadence might do, or at least approve of. It was so fascinating to see the varying behaviors and personality's that each guardian possessed. Just like their chosen.
But his gaze returned to the woman, and his eyes lit with her approval, "I have to agree." he replied, a smile gracing his sweet face. And this time, he did allow for a gentle chuckle to rise from him, "I believe we have quite a bit in common, Ms. Satre. I too am in the same sort of state with my own collection of literature." It was very pleasant to hear that he wasn't the only one enchanted with such things. There seemed to be a hidden source of book-lovers that he'd not been able to meet! Yet that was understandable, since he hardly gained much company from others for longer than a mere single conversation... but any matter! It was just nice to hear of others who held an equal passion for literature as he.
Noting the basket perhaps weighing her down, he extended his arm in offering to hold it for her, as a gentleman should, "I concur. I find it especially interesting to see how guardians interact with one another, and to see the ways their personality's vary. Though... unfortunately Axe does not always all for much interaction with others.." he aims another apologetic expression to the woman. Though his expression shifts to one of curiosity as her trade is revealed, "Oh how intriguing. If you do not mind me asking, do you tend to all metal necessities?" Perhaps she specialized in one field of metal workings.

"Oh really now? That's quite interesting." She laughed a little, smiling back. "There's always something new in this particular shop, which is why I enjoy it so. Always a nook and cranny you can miss easily, and certainly never the same thing twice." She glanced over at the shopkeeper, who was already busy helping another customer with their purchases. "It is good to know that I'm not the sole person supporting this shop." She seemed the slightest bit surprised at his offer to take the basket for the moment, though handed it over with a shy smile. "Thank you.." She murmured, "Such a gentleman." However, she did listen closely to his next few words. The chosen was already far aware of the differing types of guardians, having met a few, though not many. Orpheus had been enough for her to know that not all were terribly sweet like her own. But from what Eluf was saying, she could guess that perhaps Aelius and Axe wouldn't be terribly good friends. When asked about her work, she seemed a little surprised. Usually she got a much different reaction, but deciding it would do little harm, she indulged him a little more. "Oh, I do a little bit of everything. My favorite has to jewelry or small decorative items, though. I take pride in detail." She gave him a slight nod. "Though I do also make weapons and armor, the like...I enjoy a good challenge."

He gave her a nod of assurance, quite pleased himself. Always a delight to meet another fellow book lover! His entire family were very much bookworms, though his parents didn't have too much time now adays to sit down with a good book. Business was always... well, busy!
Holding the basket before him with both hands, he gave a carefree smile, that showed it certainly wasn't a problem at all. Though he did give a polite nod at her compliment, "I thank you, ma'am." However... he became quite intrigued when her profession was further explained. Jewelry...? that's when a flush of heat warmed lightly on his pretty face, making his freckles perhaps stand out a little more on his barely tanned, olive skin. He'd... been wanting to get something recently... a piece that held a significance to it...
"That is quite a marvelous feat to have, Miss Satre. I will surely have to come by your shop sometimes." he paused for a moment, as his bashfulness overcame him for a brief hitch, "If.. I may.." he started, slowly, eyes flickering to the ground for safety, "Are you.. perhaps taking any orders right now? I believe I may be... interested in placing one."

Rosalie didn't seem to mind too much of his blush, thinking perhaps her compliment had done something. He was kind, that much she was sure of. He also enjoyed books, and frankly, she was sure she had at least some to share with him. His questions about her shop only added to her curiosity. Perhaps she could lend him a few? "Ah, certainly." She smiled, "I'd be more than happy to take an order." Really, quite a surprise. It wasn't often she got asked outside of the shop for a commission. "What are you interested in being made?" Thoughts of something regal for the young man went through her head, though she made sure to keep an open mind. However, at the thought of him being one of the chosen, she thought back to her first commission, one brought to her by someone whose face she couldn't quite remember.... It had been a totem. Not like the one Aelius had grown from, no, but close in resemblance. Who had that been? Ah, her memory wasn't doing so well at the moment, but she made sure to listen closely to her new customer.

Hopefully it wasn't too rude speaking to the miss outside of her shop about business. He knew it wasn't always appreciated by some, but... his curiosity had gotten the best of him, a little..
His blush brightened a small notch, eyes avoiding hers from time to time as he imagined his desired item of choice, "Well I have been pondering on purchasing an amulet for.. a good friend of mine." he had to choose his words carefully, and made his reply as smooth as possible. For awhile now he'd been deciding on this matter, wanting to get something for Macaire in... a token of his affections. But with them both being men, it was a task that proved to be one that seemed... impossible. Nothing that would stand out too much, or draw too much attention... So Eluf thought that perhaps a necklace would suffice without any questioning.
Letting his eyes lift back to Rosalie, he smiled shyly, "Is that a plausible order? I can supply the gem I would like embedded as well." the flutter of dormant excitement was becoming noticeable in his stomach... but he kept composed.

She didn't seem to mind as he explained his wishes, and nodded a little, listening closely. An amulet? Well that certainly wasn't much trouble. As long as he had a vague idea of what he wished, she was sure she could make something that would suit his desires. "Of course!" She nodded, thrilled at the aspect of being able to use a gem in her work. Rosalie didn't often get to work with anything but metal, but when she did have a gem to inlay, she found it ended up being some of her best work. "Do you know what sort of design you'd be looking for? The type of metal?" If he had a certain color in mind, she might have to order it from her supplier. There was also the color of the gem. Some colors were more vivid than others. But for now she kept it simple. "I'm sorry if that's too much to answer to right now, but I'm sure we'll be able to work something out, even if you need to stop by my shop at a later date...One second, I'll give you the address.." She excused herself for a second and got a piece of paper from the shopkeeper, writing upon it quickly. She returned to Eluf, handing him the paper. "If need be, I'm always available by mail."
