Nevada had used on day up on her trip to shop for her boys and gifts for them. But it still left her with one more...and what better way to spend a day then on a date with handsome man and a popular date spot?
The only place that popped to mind was an aquarium, which was really honestly almost cliched in a way but...It was relaxing, dim lighted and fun. Seeing sea animals and petting them? always fun.
The problem was who to take? She wanted to meet new people but not many wanted to waste a free day taking a trainee on a date...much less a small little mist.
But maybe....
Perhaps...
In midstep of going to the mist lounge, she turned and headed to the Death instead. She had found herself with a mild crush on a certain death hunter, as in she thought he was attractive even adorably grumpy. And knowing that he would hate how she described them, she put on her best smile and headed in, looking for the Death hunter.
"Ottooooooooooooooo...." She called out softly as she looked around, he might not even be here! What a dilemna.

Otto just so happened to be in the Death lounge. Nevada had herself a lucky break in her goal. The teen was busy lounging on a couch, lazily laying about with a leg hanging over an arm rest. His phone was held above his face as he studied its contents. He tended to use the thing as a make shift note pad, sorting and filing, processing and storing information and data. Fun stuff. He looked like he was having fun, too.
That last statement was a lie.
His name was called, and the blonde turned his head away from his screen to see who the voice belonged to. "Oh, its you...." His brows furrowed in thought. What was her name again.... ********, he knew this... Narnia... no, that was a book... It was like a US stat----OH!
"....Nebraska."
Nailed it.

Nevada just smiled and moved over to the couch, sitting right next to the death hunter and lifting his head so it could rest in her lap.
"Nevada, Handsome. But close, I probably have a cousin named that." She gave him a tilt of her head as she looked down at him, "And it's good to see you again too. You seem to be having so much fun here..." Was the last part sarcasm? probably not. "Don't you feel cooped up here on the Island? I know were on high alert but I've been hearing rumors of offshore leave is now available..."
"Do you want to go on a date Otto?" She said this as she played with the beanie on his head, still staring down at him with a lazy smile.

Otto watched from the corner of his eye as she approached, finding soon he had a lap pillow under his head. Score. He didn't even have to do anything. "Right, I meant Nevada." He lied with a poker face. However, that delightful nickname reminded him exactly who this girl was. Yeah, good company. He could deal with this just fine.
His eyes lazily rolled at the sarcasm. "About as fun as a hole in the head." Sure, it kept him thinking, but man was it dull work. "Hm? Yeah, I was on a shoppin' trip with a few people before Christmas." He replied in a mumble. "Wasn't much of a getaway, cause I had to babysit a friggn' ADHD trainee the whole time."
A... Date...?
Wait... woah, she did say date. Otto's blue gaze widened slightly before quickly glancing away. No one ever asked him on a date. Other than Clerise but that was more like she was taking a little kid on a play date. Then again, Nevada could be joking with him too. Most girls didn't really take him seriously.
But.... "Uuh... sure." Why not. The prospect left him nervous and fidgety but it wasn't a bad idea.

Nevada snorted and then tugged at his hat, playfully. "You can call me Nev or Ava instead if it's easier." She laughed next and then nodded, reaching over for the phone and poke at it.
"Well death does has it perks, you guys are the most well informed. Its funny to see you organizing it all on your phone though. Gone are the days of paperwork is it now?" She sighed and looked around, not another death hunter seemed to be diligently working like Otto and that just seemed downright unfair!
He probably deserved a break, and dates were perfect for that.
"Oh, I wouldn't handle his energy well then. I bet it was a time though, Where did you go?" She moved back to playing with his hat, "But that makes you more of an adult right? Being in charge of another hunter can be tough."She was sure though, that where ever he went that he had at least gotten some childlike awe out.
She did notice the widen eyes and cocked her head, did Otto not get date offers often? That would be a shame, especially he was honestly handsome.
"Perfect, I have just the place in mind!" She gentle urged the boy up and pushed herself from the couch. "I have some money leftover from christmas, but not a lot. Does an aquarium sound okay with you?"

"Nah, I think I can handle it." Otto mumbled. Ava sounded too close to Eva, and that would just make everything weird. Maybe Nevvi. Nevva. Navi.
Hm....
"Yeah, just easier since its always on me." Otto replied, scrolling through a long page of notes and then exiting out. Pages and papers could get lost, burned, eaten. His phone? It survived all things; even getting thrown against walls in the morning.
"We went to New York City." He'd been there a few times now, and it never really lost its appeal. Except when chasing Horsemen in smelly back alleys. Not so nice. Being compared to an adult threw him off. Okay, she had to be screwing with him. However, it buttered him up all the same. Yeah... yeah it WAS tough babysitting. Hard work, okay?
Otto raised himself up as Nevada shifted, readjusting his hat before standing up off the couch. "Sounds fine." Basic, nothing fancy, probably not all that expensive. "Don't think I've been to one."

"Well whatever you come up with, I'm sure I'll enjoy all the same." She looked over at him as she straightened her sweatshirt. It wasn't like...perfect date outfit but she wasn't all that worried about her looks. if people didn't like them well, people didn't like them. Who was she to be upset if she wasn't appealing to others? She did pat her hair down though and hoped actually that she looked decent. You know, simple girl worries.
"Well I'm a mist, if you show me some stuff, I can help you sometime? I don't think its fair to constantly shove paperwork or stuff on others." Even though she was known to be a destroyer of paperwork, it was because people she didn't know left it for her. Why work hard for a stranger? Well work super hard, she would for friends though. "And Company is always nice for hard work!"
"Oh~" She sighed as she tucked her arm in his when he got up, "New york city. I've always wanted to go, again its a city full of energy but I'd love to take a walk around the parks, sit in the tall buildings and watch people around. Is it weird to do that?" She chuckled and leaned her head on his as they headed to the lighthouse, completely at ease now that he agreed...and quite excited about leaving the Island even if its a short while.
"Really? there's a fantastic one in Georgia, as far as i've heard. And i heard they allow you to pet the sharks and hold some of the starfish and stuff." she all but started to light up. "And they have big tanks with the bigger animals, like orca whales and stuff. If its your first time, I think you'll really enjoy it!" Yes, she was pumped. Her lazy walk as now upped to the speed of a normal person walking, which was her way of rushing to the lighthouse to ask for a portal out.
Good thing she had her card on her! "I'll pay for both of us to go by the way! I'm taking you on this date so It'll be on my treat okay?" She made it very clear to him by elbowing his side. "No buying tickets for yourself!"

"Sure, if I'm feelin' overwhelmed. Since you offered and all." He didn't really mind doing this sort of work. It was just boring. Splitting the boring task with company might make the next bout of work easier to deal with. "Yeah, it's totally weird." Otto lied with a poker face. "No one does that s**t in New York. Geez." No one except everyone. His comments were in jest, even if his face didn't show it. They could pet sharks? Damn, that was one step away from riding one. Not that he wanted to ride a shark. It just sounded badass in theory. This aquarium was sounding a lot more interesting now. A boring day was now an adventure. There was a pretty girl on his arm, talk of sharks and orcas. Hot damn! And it seemed like Nevada insisted she pay for it all. Etiquette stated the man was supposed to pay for a date, but since when did Otto Graves give a s**t about etiquette? Since Never. If she wanted to pay, all the power to her. Maybe he'd buy her lunch as a thank you, though, You know.. just to be fair and all. "Alright, cool with me. Let's do this s**t." Dressed for comfort as they both were, it was a date none the less. Eva, Molly and Clerise would surely lose their s**t if they knew hed gone out with someone dressed in sweat pants, a beanie and a hoodie. Hah. Suckers.

"Perfect! I can only hope my help is actually help." She looked over at him and winked, "I might try and distract you though, because work with no play is even more boring." Whatever that meant.
"Weird I am though." His poker face was strong, but she could at least tell a little that he was joking. Or she simply thought he WAS joking and thus just squeezed his arm. "Well, maybe I should do something more extreme in New york. Whatever it is to set me apart from the others. Maybe building bungee?" She almost said that with a poker face. Almost.
And then they were at the portal, with Nevada slipping away to ask the attendant (as if it was a flight attendant or something) to coordinate a drop off for them near the aquarium.
With it read, she took Otto's hand instead of his arm this time, lacing her fingers in his and looking over at him. "Here we go!"
The drop did in fact lead them right in a small street off to the side of a large set up of tanks, water and seaside like aquarium.
In front of them was the large building though, and Nevada ll but widened her eyes. "Oh this might take some time..." It was huge and most likely would take a day to explore it all. Good thing her and Otto had time right?
Further inspection inside led them to the paying counter where she payed for both herself and Otto and gave them full access to the sites and galleries.
"Where do you want to start first Otto? Do you want to look at the underground tanks? Or go straight to the petting zones?" Somehow, the lazy girl seemed almost like a normal girl as she swiveled her head around. "Or maybe go see the big whales first?"

What was she insinuating there just then? Tenya giggled in his mind, since they both kind of got the hint. Otto was starting to figure out that this girl might just be a bit of a flirt. He wasn't exactly sure how to respond. While she might be a flirt, Otto definitely wasn't.
"I heard Las Vegas has like.. roller coasters on top of buildings." Since they were on the topic of strange things to do in a city.
The hand holding was actually more favorable to Otto than the arm clinging. It made it easier to walk, for one thing. Still, it didn't fail to make his heart do a short little dance. Onward they went into the portal.
And oh what a sight the Aquarium was. "Holy ********' s**t... This place is huge!" He hadn't expected it to be quite so large. He'd been expecting a dumpy, smelly rut of a fish hut, but here they were in some elaborate and fantastical fish MANSION. Yeah. This would be a day trip. An all day trip.
Tickets paid for by his lovely date, Otto picked up a map to keep on hand. "Dude, slow down, missy. Let's just try and find this stuff as it comes.." No sense running around one end to the other willy nilly. They'd end up wasting all their energy in a short amount of time. "What's the closest place? We'll go there first. How's that? We got all day, ya know."

Nevada hadn't expected a flirty response from him and thus, only continued to smile as he spoke. Thinking of Las Vegas though of the state she was named after made her nod. "I'd like to go there too, But not until I'm of age you know. Loses its magic when your 19 and running around a town built for 21 and older." She closed her eyes though and tried to imagine a roller coaster on a building.
"I wonder if it drops or just spirals down. We humans make such funny things." She opened her eyes back up as she looked around the lobby, part of the reason she held Otto's hand though was to keep her from straying...and to keep in contact with him in some sort of way. Where he felt a dance a little, she felt at ease with him.
It was mostly because she enjoyed his company as well.
"I didn't believe all the pictures either when I saw it, I just overheard other hunters talking about where'd they like to go and this place seemed better off then most of them." Her head turned again to the displays and corridors that led to them before scooting over to Otto and the map he held open.
"Well we're here..." She bent her head down as if conspiring with Otto, well they were about where to go and pointed her finger at the spot of the star on the lobby. "The two closest are the above water walk, it looks like they let you walk around the tops of tanks...and there's a whale shark!" She murmured, "Or we can go under where we see the tanks in all their glory. Want to do that first? Then we can check out the other exhibits?" Maybe seeing the tanks underneath would build all the excitement for going above and seeing and touching some of the sea creatures. Her eyes landed on specific exhibit though and had her sighing, "They have a penquin exhibit too..."

"I guess so, if you're into gambling and hookers." Otto said with a raised brow. "Well, you got a shorter wait for them than I do." Why was everyone older than him? :C So alone. "I hope it drops. That's the best damn part. Especially since they're up so high."
They conspired around the map, until they had some semblance of a plan of action. "Okay. Underground it is." Otto wanted to see this real bad now. Looking at a tank of fish and aquatic life from underneath rather than overhead? Awesome. "Penguins?" What was so exciting about those things? It just reminded him of Antarctica. Nothing good ever came of that place. He nearly drowned there on Clerise's mission.
"Whatever, c'mon." He gestured toward the path to take. Time to appreciate Earth's beauty. Give them something to remember while they were on their death missions to protect it.

"Well I am not really into either." She snorted, imagine her, running around with hookers and chips from gambling all her hunter money away? Just horrible. Maybe the city of sin was TOO much sin for the teen to handle. "Oh? You're younger then me?" She actually frowned a moment before squeezing his hand, "I thought you might be the same age as me, do you mind being on a date with a older woman?" She teased, waggling her eyebrows. "You've got a point, I like the drop too. All that excitement all at one point and then BOOM. your rolling down the hill on adreline high."
"Underground!~" She kept close to the death hunter rather then tugging him along, she'd let him lead the way in though. Something her mother had taught her well was that not everyone liked to be pulled around. "It's funny to be here, like normal people.." She said in a more hushed voice as she studied the civilans around them. Did they know among them was two people who risked their lives day in and out to make sure they didn't know the horrors of the supernatural?
Probably not.
"Oh~" All talk of anything was lost as they exited into one of the many undersea corridors. Water surrounded them from all over as she could see many fish and larger fish swimming around. Instinctvely she went to the thick glass planes and looked into the never ending stretch of water. "It's a lot more prettier then I thought it would be, they have so many different colors." She waved at it and looked over her shoulder at Otto, "Have you seen finding Nemo? that looks like Dory over there." She tapped the glass as a blue and yellow fish school swam past them. "I had no idea that the sea looked so serene like this, it's like we are actually under it right now." And it did literally look like that as the dome shape corridor walked through the large display and habitats of all the fish in it.

"Well, ya'in't that much older. Just by a year." He said with some sass and a smirk. "But no, I don't mind." Though he had a feeling she was just teasing anyway. "Right? Roller Coasters are ********' awesome." Damn, now he knew where he wanted to go next time he had leave.
"No kiddin.." He murmured back. He could almost forget the heavy burden of their lives just for a moment here. Almost. Sometimes it made him bitter knowing the petty things normal people worried about, while he risked his neck for them all. Still, he hoped it was worth it. He hoped.
"Woooah..." Otto stared just as wide eyed, looking at the amazing wonderland they'd stepped into. He made his way through the crowd to where Nevada had pranced to, looking at the fish she pointed out, and the others that caught his eye. "Hey, it does.." He wondered if that fish could speak whale.
"Damn, this place makes me wanna go swimmin."

Oh she did adore Otto indeed, he was quite the character when he wanted to be. Teenager full of Sass, grump and sarcasm...And it wasn't hard to tell that she fell right into having a crush on him. As high school as that sounded. "Oh~ Too bad, I would've probably gained the nickname of being a Cougar." She all but sparkled at the idea, "And I'm chasing after all the young handsome cubs around."
She all but laughed at his excitement with her and nodded. Understanding came when she looked at the other normal people. With their lives. What did they worry about? money, Paying rent, paying bills, school, going on dates like Otto and Nevada now? Proms and Cars and Games and hanging with friends. The small taste of bitterness was swallowed in a instant that she even allowed her thoughts to drift like that.
Right now, Her and Otto were normal people. Two normal teens on a very normal date. So she could worry about that instead of the impending doom of the world instead. Small things. Small fish in the sea.
"Do you like swimming?" She asked as the returned to walking, stopping at certain points to point out something shiny or something colorful or interesting. "I'm a big fan of it myself, because you can float on your back and just relax. Water has always been relaxing to me."
