With 2012 coming to a close, I thought it might be fun to discuss what has gone on in the past year. After all, lolita is an ever-changing, ever-evolving fashion.
If you didn't already know, Gaia added a new Lolita Fashion sub-forum this year to the Real Life Fashion & Style sub-forum. It's a bit slow-moving, but has a fair number of threads and is developing a set of regular members.
So let's ring in the new year by talking a bit about the old one!
What were your favourite prints or designs for 2012? What would you like to see in 2013? Did a new (or new to you) brand or designer catch your eye? Did you achieve a "lolita first" during the year? Did you meet new friends at a meet-up or online? Tell us about your lolita landmarks for 2012!
And of course, you can't talk about the coming of a New Year without discussion of New Year's Resolutions!
Are there any goals or resolutions from last year that you've been able to meet? Any that you regret not meeting? Any that you plan to meet in 2013?

A thread without a single reply seems sad. I'm late, but I don't think this counts as a necro if it is still at the top of the forum.
What were your favourite prints or designs for 2012? What would you like to see in 2013? Because I have a thing for stars, I was surprised by the Starry Night Angel print. I ended up really liking it and getting it for myself. What do I want for 2013? More stars (without bunnies and bears thrown in there too).
Did a new (or new to you) brand or designer catch your eye? The brand would be Chess Story, a taobao shop, because I hadn't known about them prior to the aforementioned print.
Did you achieve a "lolita first" during the year? A lolita first? Hm... Well I bought a pair of wedge-like shoes as opposed to heels for the first time last year. Does that count? I had always worn heels with everything before those shoes.
Did you meet new friends at a meet-up or online? I'm afraid that I hadn't befriended an unknown lolita last year at all. Now that I think of it, I've never befriended an unknown lolita...
Tell us about your lolita landmarks for 2012! The Starry Night Angel set was the first thing I've ever bought from taobao via a Taobao agent. It was a nice experience. Clobba and Qutieland are still easier, but somewhat more expensive.
Are there any goals or resolutions from last year that you've been able to meet? Yes! I lost 75lbs last year on my diet and went from a pants size of US18/20 to a US8. So my resolution this year (continued from last year) is to reach my goal. My initial goal was actually already surpassed, and my new goal is within reach. Unfortunately, now all of the outfits that fit me when I was a plus size lolita are too big. Luckily, a lolita friend of mine is plus sized and I was able to give her many of my clothes. I knew she needed them because while I've been rapidly losing, she was slowly gaining a bit, so some of her older wardrobe no longer fits her.
Any that you regret not meeting? Oh, well I only made one. So nope.
Any that you plan to meet in 2013? Reach my goal size, graduate college, see my best friend happily married in March... This year I want to be confident in who I am and what I do. heart I guess my lolita-related resolution would be to go to an actual official meet-up this year. I've only been to a single one, and it was hosted by a non-lolita group (so there was a lot of cosplay lolita around and not many real lolita coords).
