Name: Becka

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Straight

Craft: Healer

Rank: Apprentice

Appearance:
At first glance Becka is a small unassuming girl, she's shorter than most her age but she's slender which makes her seem even smaller, younger even than her 15 turns. Her hair is a dark dirty brown but if she's outside a lot in the sun, it has a tendency to lighten. her eyes are a dark greyish blue. She likes to have clean clothes outside of when she's on shift in the infirmary, in that she is a regular girl of 15, likes to look pretty but when she's 'working' she doesn't particularly care what she looks like as long as she gets the job done, She herself is always clean, since dirtyness breeds infection, one of the first really important lessons she learned apprenticing under her master. Her main issue is she's not often out of the infirmary, preferring to stay with her patients as much as she is allowed to.

Personality:
Becka is a very straightforward young girl. She can often be too blunt however and tell you exactly what's on her mind. If you ask her "do i look fat in this" and you were overweight... or it looked awful Becka would flat out tell you. She's not inherently mean but she see's no point in lying about something like that which doesn't earn her many friend. Becka however doesn't mind this, she's honestly not bothered if you want to be her friend or not. It's a waste of effort in her mind to try and be something you're not just so others will like you. She's sometimes a bit scatterbrained though, often misplacing things as she forgets where she's put it. Often she'll find it later on, somewhere she didn't think she'd have placed it. When it comes to her healing though Becka is very soft, she can be very reassuring and calm. She loves helping people, taking care of those that are hurt or sick. She doesn't do too well under stress, needing direction when things get hectic, someone to tell her what needs doing but she IS trying to overcome that. Becka's biggest problem with healing is that seeing Dragons, and their cousins hurt, pains Becka greatly, she's cried more over dead dragons that she didn't know than she ever has over her patients, she HAS and does cry over her patients too, she feels bad about being more upset about dragons than people though. She does have a bad habit of biting her nails when she's nervous, though she tries her best not to. She isn't likely to want to Stand, as she'd mostly entirely dedicated to wanting to be a Healer, but she wouldn't object if a Dragon chose to seek her out.

History:
Becka's childhood was that of a typical Weyrbrat other than one thing, she determined from a young age that she didn't really want a dragon, or a Wher, or anything else except to practice Healing. Ever since she wandered in on a Healer tending to a badly wounded woman, she hadn't been as disgusted by the blood as she thought'd she be but she did baulk at the severity of the open wounds, apparently caused by a Gold Wher when the young woman had attempted to grab an egg and had bungled the attempt so badly that the Gold had savaged her. Becka had been about 8 turns old and was grabbed and taken from the room as an apprentice healer went to fetch more water. She'd been told to stay out of the Healer's way. She of course had gone back, and over time seen how much good healing did by watching the young woman's wounds turn from ugly bloody messes to raw but healing scars and was still a rather handsome woman, she'd been lucky not to have been left horribly disfigured, such were the nature of that woman's wounds. Becka was fascinated and hung around so often that, outside of her regular lessons, she became somewhat of an almost personal drudge to the healers and their apprentices. When she was old enough she requested transfer to the Healer Hall, was accepted and became an Apprentice. She studied hard but she was always aware of how little she knew, was always nervous about anything she presented to her Master. Even when she was praised, she double guessed herself wondering if she hadn't been able to more... to do better. True her handwriting wasn't the neatest but she could write quickly and legibly, that was an asset she wasn't even aware of.

Not that you would have had any way of knowing this, but Thread isn't actually falling yet and hasn't done for a very long time, so Becka probably hasn't seen any Threadscored patients yet. cool

Her Master is also a rider? However did that happen? (Not that it's really important, mind, but it is unusual for someone to attain a mastership before Impression given the youth of candidates, and after Impression cross-crafting isn't really encouraged so close to a Pass).

Other than that she looks fine to me.

No worries. The bit about Threadfall wasn't anywhere you could have seen it (as I only recently realized) and the other thing isn't exactly an impossibility, just an oddity, if you will. cool Still, all is well!
