If there was anything Remarque had learned, it was that Negaversers were not to be taken lightly. He had been the target of far too many to eagerly approach any aura, though his desire to broaden his horizons was enough to send him in the direction. He gauged a Captain, of which he knew too few; most of his associates were either lieutenants or generals. It was worth investigating, at least to keep the evening interesting.
Smacking his hands together and rubbing them for warmth, Remarque drifted through the park at a leisurely pace; he drifted off the main path and took a shortcut through the trees to shave off a few minutes. When he stepped from the brush, he supposed he'd find some foreign Negaverse Agent, just getting back into the groove of things.
What he did not expect, however, was Bazzite.
Sure, he was glad to see the male—but surprised as hell.
He whistled, impressed, and perhaps as an effort to get Bazzite's attention before offering congratulations. "Bazzite," he said, grin on his face, "I wouldn't believe it if you weren't right in front of me. You look impressive."

Bazzi was busy practicing, jumping from tree to tree like any good ninja would. He was practicing speed and accuracy and didn't even bother to scan very often for approaching auras. Multitasking was not a talent Bazzite happened to possess unless it came to cooking and cleaning or being someone's maid and someone else's maid at the same time. Those he could do. Remarque's approach came as a complete shock. The captain spazzed out and fell from his perch, landing flat on his back. "PFFFFFF...!" he wheezed, scrambling to stand up and brush himself off. "Holy... jeez dude. You gotta like... let people know when you're comin' to town and all that. At least Santa does! Maybe you need a theme song or somethin'..." Steadying himself, Bazzite brushed some of the leaves from his snow blue hair. Now Remarque was complimenting him and it was embarrassing. He turned away. "Awww... dude... don't go doin' that... it's'... it ain't fair..." The boy zipped himself up in his hood and huffed.

Remarque blinked, a bit surprised by Bazzite's jumpiness—though, really, he shouldn't have been. He cracked a wider grin as he closed the distance between them, reaching a hand out to rest on Bazzite's head as though he had intention to muss up his hair. Naturally, he gave it ago before he spoke again, "Of course it's fair. You should be more aware of your surroundings, maybe then I wouldn't sneak up on you. Of course, if you'd rather stop me from doing that, you could always follow me around and hum some theme song. Or just tell me how it feels to be a Captain now, hmm? How'd it happen? Did Benitoite get you all beefed up or did you manage this all on your own?"
There was no criticism in his voice, just curiosity. He really had on idea how the Negaverse even managed to upgrade in rank; it wasn't a conversation he'd ever had with any of them. With Benitoite, he'd basically just accepted that the male was a General without ever really considering that he'd ever been a captain or lieutenant.

The hood slid around on the captain's head before falling off to reveal a snow blue explosion of poodle-like brilliance and static cling. Bazzite looked like the disco era swooped in, vomited on him and disappeared and the captain wasn't sure what to do with his new 'fro. "I can't hum a theme song, you know, it's gotta be beefier than that cuz you're all beefy." came the explanation, a finger poking the Dark Mirror in the chest. "An' you got the wings an' all that. Maybe I'll come up with somethin' for you. But anyway!" A grin sparked to life on his face despite anything else. "Nah, Beni didn't promote me - it was some little lady with minty hair. I don't remember her name but she was real nice! It hurt but... Beni's real proud'a me now." Bazzi momentarily strike a pose and dropped a few shuriken, He scrambled to pick them up, flipping on over and over his knuckles to show to Remarque. "I got these! They were paper before but now they're all metal." The Dark Mirror's question about his promotion did make him think. "You know, I wonder if Beni can promote people? I never asked. I just... I dunno, one day Beni was all BAM HI I'M A GENERAL WHAT'S UP except all polite 'n stuff. You know how Beni is." Bazzite cleared his throat and straightened up, looking rather solemn and serious. "Salutations, my good man." he said before deflating like a balloon and returning to his dopey grin. Imitating Benitoite was hard!

Some little lady with minty hair? The description was foreign to Remarque, though he didn't prompt for further information. While he was initially most interested in inspecting Bazzite's shuriken—as they were strange and foreign to him—he couldn't help but ignore then in favor of watching Bazzite do his impersonation. He cracked a grin, wondering if Benitoite would find such as amusing as he did. "Not bad. Little more practice and you'd sound just like him, I bet. So, what comes with those shiny little toys? You any faster, any stronger? Or," he offered Bazzite a very serious look. "Are you still punching like a girl?"
The question was obviously in jest despite his feigned seriousness; he playfully punched the Captain in the arm for good measure.

"I'm totally faster an' stronger an---" Are you still punching like a girl?Serious face was go. stare Bazzite's mouth made a fine line across his features. "I did not hit like a girl thank you very much." he insisted, trying to juggle multiple shuriken in one hand in a desperate effort to look cool. The little ninja failed after the third pass and dropped them all, watching as they punctured the ground and stuck up from it like little traps waiting to be sprung. Or stepped on. Bazzite huffed and wiggled a little with the playful punch. "Hey now, I got better since my promotion! I can show you." With a silly grin, Bazzite suddenly blinked out of view.

Conversation with Bazzite was always easy. When Remarque could see him. The shuriken display had been amusing (and even if Bazzite was huffy about it, it was still better than what Remarque could have done). He scanned the area around him, looking for the Captain, for only a few short seconds before he grew tired of the practice. He shifted positions and huffed, "I'm not sure if I would call that better or just more elusive?" Disappearing certainly had its perks, but it didn't mean a damn thing if all you could do was go invisible. Remarque had more been hoping Bazzite had gotten into the habit of lifting weights, not disappearing into thin air.

If Remarque had waited and scanned just a few seconds later, he would have caught the Captain above him somewhere. Bazzite grinned in midair and landed on the Dark Mirror's shoulders like a monkey, laughing all the way. "Gotcha!" With a deft backflip the boy was at ground level again. He couldn't repeat his teleportation (much too draining to do more than once unless it was an emergency!) but that didn't mean the Captain couldn't be impressive without it. He grinned, scratching the back of his head with pride. "How was that? Pretty cool, huh? That's new too."

It was a good thing Bazzite moved before Remarque got a hold of him; the moment there was extra weight on his shoulders, the Dark Mirror Senshi had attempted to swat at the air above him. "Cool," Remarque replied dryly, perhaps simply just a bit jealous. It was a neat trick, but what happened if he got caught? Or wound up in a tree or something?
"Is that the only trick you got? What are you going to do if the senshi figure out how to pop around, and one of them pops you in the back of your head while you're off, back flipping? You take any of that training to heart or are you confident enough that you can elude anyone trying to screw you up?"

Bazzi frowned. What, no googly eyes or anything? Sigh."Senshi can't teleport." he said, crossing his arms. At least, he didn't think they could. Maybe Negaverse senshi could but Bazzi himself had never seen nor heard of such a thing, and Dark Mirror senshi required mirrors to move like that. Negaverse agents didn't. "An' I did take all that trainin' to heart, thank you very much." Hands on his hips, Bazzi tried to look determined. He probably just looked constipated. Pulling out a few shuriken, the captain struck a pose. "I don't think I'll ever be all muscle-y like you but I got faster! Wanna see?"

Remarque raised a brow and then gestured. "Fine. Show me how fast you can go," he said, figuring he could humor Bazzite that much. "But then show me all that training you did. I'm interested to see how much Benitoite managed to teach you."
Plus, Remarque had arguably gone a little soft for Bazzite, and considering some of the opposition he'd seen in recent times, he didn't want Bazzite to wind up with the wrong opponent and at a disadvantage. Virtus had proven him wrong—Virtus had stood his ground.
Now that Bazzite had reached Captain, maybe he had gone changed—gotten stronger. Maybe all this concern—not that Remarque would ever call it concern—was for nothing. Maybe Bazzite had gotten stronger and faster.
Or maybe he was just getting his hopes up. Either way, he intended to find out—and soon.

With a nod and a smile, Bazzite was off like a rocket, pushing himself to the highest speed he could muster without losing control of his footing. He could never hit like Remarque could, nor could he ever hope to gain the muscle the blonde possessed. However, Bazzite was learning to use his nimble form to an advantage - outmaneuver and escape the grasp of stronger opponents. Dodge and regroup. Hit-and-run tactics. Speed over strength. Durability would be something he'd need much more practice in. Deftly he tried to dodge about Remarque, twisting this way and that and tucking to roll back up onto his feet like Aubrey had showed him. Balance, movement like flowing water as Schorl had taught him. Of course, Bazzite was light enough that a connecting blow would knock him over but the spunky Captain hoped his speed would keep that from happening. Maybe. Or he'd end up as a smear on Remarque's forearm. That remained to be seen.

Remarque watched the captain roll and quirked a brow; it was a technique he hadn't quite seen the male use before—and to be honest, it was performed with such grace that Remarque wouldn't have assumed it was Bazzite moving in front of him. He watched as the male darted around, trying to pinpoint some sort of routine, though patience was not Remarque's strong suit. In the end, after deciding it was hit or miss, he curled his fist and hurled it—albeit not anywhere near his full strength—towards where he assumed the most logical location for Bazzite to appear.

Remarque turned out to be pretty damned close, clipping the captain in the ribs. The sudden adjustment and forceful momentum sent Bazzite out of his arc through the air and back onto the ground where he skipped, tripped and nearly faceplanted into a tree. Thankfully he had enough mind to flail his arms and keep himself upright. Spinning around, he knew that, as a captain, Remarque outmatched him in every way. But he was only clipped, that had to have meant his training was paying off... ...right? Bouncing from foot to foot he again charged the eternal, dipping low to try and dive beneath the blonde's reach and come up behind him. Maybe Bazzi could snatch a hunk of buttwing as a prize? He knew he hadn't the strength nor the inclination to bring harm to Remarque but wanted to prove he was taking his training seriously for a change.

This was not a fighting style Remarque was used to—and one that happened to be frustrating him. Not that he wanted to let Bazzite in on that fact. Bazzite was fast. Remarque's brain told him that Bazzite was faster than him—and the jealousy kicked up.
Remarque might have been an eternal, but holy <********>, even he couldn't pinpoint exactly where Bazzite was. Logic told him the only reason he'd even clipped the Captain was because he'd been lucky—and it wasn't something he could fathom repeating.
One second he'd been skidding in front of him—and then the next, Remarque couldn’t see him. It might have been that he sensed the male, or that he was paranoid Bazzite had gotten into his blind spot, so he turned, quickly. He didn't bother to pull his elbow in; he just focused on turning around and spotting Bazzite as quickly as possible.
