It started 25 years ago, in the bright lights and high tech of Requiem City. An unknown man sold a strange fossil to the Science Lab to study and do with what they pleased. The head researchers, who can only be recalled by their last name, Gincosu, immediately began researching the fossil, and found that it had the remains of an ancient Pokemon thought long extinct:
Genesect.
It took them 4 years, 4 long years, but finally they had managed to build a machine able to resurrect the long dead pokémon. During the initial process, a strange variation of cosmic radiation was released in a small upward burst that killed the scientists who had stayed in the containment room, and it was ventilated out of the building into the environment around Requiem City.
Over the process of two weeks, numerous bursts were unleashed, all were ventilated into the sky. Then, on October 16th, the expected day when the pokémon would be arrived, a bright orange light came down from the sky, obliterating the city in a sea of fire, rubble and shock waves.
As the flames parted for a moment, a gleaming red exoskeleton could be seen from the ancient pokémon they had tried to resurrect. And for a brief moment, the one surviving scientist saw their success, before it stepped on him, snapping his already broken body like a twig and finishing off the man. The creature stood towering over any other human being there at 9 feet tall, it then opened up it's insect like wings and flew off, rapidly into the distance, vanishing before it suffered another attack such as the last.
However, what the researchers did not know, was that Genesect was a pokémon from the same world as Deoxys, and was the "chrysalis" stage for that pokémon, and the burst of cosmic radiation where the aurora burst from the creature trying to contact its otherworldly kinsmen. When these aurora bursts were ventilated outwards, they reached the atmosphere, where another legendary guardian, and arch enemy of Deoxys, resided:
Rayquaza.
Rayquaza, the mighty guardian that flies high through the atmosphere, sensed these bursts coming from the creature sought to destroy it with all it's might, and the bright orange light seen in the sky on that fateful day was a maximum power hyper beam from the gigantic dragon, seeking to utterly destroy it's long time enemy before more could arrive.
That was all 21 years ago, since then, the city has been untouched, as it was taken over by wild and in some cases extremely dangerous pokémon, the world remembers it as a fresh wound, while humanity seeks to forget their past mistake, not seeing the creature that had survived that blast and escaped Rayquaza's fury on that day.

Team History: Team Requiem was founded by a man who worked as Professor Hawthorns's research assistant. His name is now known as General Hemlock, however the professor knew him by his first name, Maxine. He was angry at the world for what happened to his pokémon during an experiment. The wrong tones were used and the pokémon went berserk and eventually died of heart failure. He left, and anger twisted everything about his brilliance. Hemlock then used research notes he had stolen, and found a way to turn pokémon into Berserk forms of themselves, and be completely obedient. From there, Hemlock went to go and save his precious Denio which had been with him since he started the research.
Decades later, the man had founded an organization based of using the Professors research to manipulate and control pokémon capable of altering the world around them. He had found an ancient fossil of a long dead Pokémon known as "Genesect" and he sold it to the Gincosu Researchers in Requiem City, planning to take control of the pokémon once it had been revived. However, when the city was destroyed over-night by an unknown force, Hemlock re-named his organization in honour of the fallen.
Thus, Team Requiem was founded and created.
