Luthi had been feeling rather lazy that morning and didnt even get up until mid day. He was now pushing himself to find a good prize for today.

(sounds like Luthi was like me today)
Luthias was hanging in the air, floating on the air streams high above the valley forest. there was still plenty of light and so he had plenty of time to find his treasure of the day.
He was about to turn around when something caught his eye, a golden glint of light in the forest below. He dived in to investigate.

Amariel was soaking up the later rays of the sun. The sun god would be getting sleepy in a few hours so she was going to relish his warmth. She was full after foraging and had spent much of the afternoon polishing her golden laurels. Turns out her fluffy soft fetlocks made good cleaning tools.
Her gold and gems shimmered and shined in the light and it pleased her to look at them. the comforts and safety of the herd allowed her to relax, sometimes carelessly so. She tossed her head back and lay on large sun soaked rock. Its sun fire heat radiated through her, and kept her pleasantly warm.
but for a brief moment the sunlight escaped her, as if someone was standing over her.
She sat up immediately and looked around her. There was nothing but the forest. Little did she know, that would be her only warning.

It was there, just lying on a rock as if it could be golden gift from the gods.
Luthias did not hesitate and swooped in swiftly.
With little effort or warning to the poor soq, he grasped her with all his talons and lifted her above the trees with just three beats of his powerful wings.
Amariel at first froze, but as he began to lift her she kicked and squirmed, and tossed her head and limbs about. although her efforts did not seem to sway him because they were already above the tree line and she froze again.
If he were to drop her, she would surely break her neck at this height.
All she could think was that it was the end. Without a word to her beautiful family, she was swooped away by a creature of Lunaris, to be eaten up.

The horrifying bat creature took her high to a rocky cliff, and into a cave, that if you weren't at eye level with it it might not look like it was there at all.
Luthias dropped her on the ledge, a sort of balcony for the cave.
Amariel peered over the edge and did not see any obvious way down. The sheer height was ghastly enough to cause her to turn away. She didn't know what this creature had planned for her, but she was ready to plead and beg if he would take her down.

Luthias circled the fawn, and flicked the tip of his tail impatiently. The gold and gems were nearly in his possession. A swipe from his claws would surely relive her of them, but would also tear into her bronze coat. His tunnel vision was subsiding, but the desire was still very much there.
Amariel watched him eye her jewelry possessively. The look he gave her, it was as if they were his and she was keeping them from him. Why on earth did he want them so badly? Aside from looking pretty they weren't much use to someone outside the herd. They held a significant sentimental value to her, and were a family heirloom.
She watched him carefully, her shoulders ached from where he had lifted her. out of the corner of her eye she saw a glimmer. Amariel quickly glanced back into the cave. She was shocked to see an incredible amount of silver and gold ornaments and items. This creature was a hoarder, and saw her only as another piece to his collection.
He stopped circling when she turned to face him. Luthias began to creep closer. He moved with predatory grace and never took his eyes off her golden laurels.
