Appearance: Unlike Mari, Caelan darker skin is from tanning. He has black hair, usually pulled back in a loose tail. His eyes are golden brown and slightly tilted and narrow. He has strong features, a slightly hooked nose and square jaw. He is 5'8'' and likely to grow a few more inches. Caelan is more average, not pump like his sister or delicate like his slightly under brother.

Personality:
Perfection incarnated, Caelan is vain. His looks, his posture, his beast all have to be perfected. His clothing is fine and well care for. He attempts to keep clean and wears mud proud enough until he can clean.
Realistic, someone in the family needs to have common sense and that tends to be Caelan. He tends to do his best in looking after both his younger sibling who is horribly skittish and his sister who is rather promiscuous. He does eventually want a job where he just stands around looking good and chatting up people with money. Then he can wear expensive clothing without ruining it, once he earns enough marks to buy it. He is partial to purple.
Confident, Caelan knows he can succeed. He is so convinced and sure of his abilities that he can be a bit of braggart. His realistic view tends to temper him so he doesn't tell big whoppers of lies but he does manage to get himself in some trouble, since his confidence also fuels his vanity.
Blunt, Caelan seems to be missing a filter of two. He can be tactful and then something bubbles out along the lines 'Is it the make or your pants or just you in general that makes you legs look so fat?' The horrible blunt rudeness tends to escape mostly when he notices fashion errors.

History: Caelan is the only child born of his parents, his sister was a fling his mother had before she married and his younger sibling while absolutely cute is from a fling with a rider. His family if you ask him, well his siblings at least are perfect. His father has likely two or three other wives somewhere along his trade routes. His mother is not a lost, and he likely better without their baggage.
He actually enjoyed his job as a messenger, it gave him an excuses to pose dramatically on top of runner beasts and to momentarily talk to well off people. He didn't like that his sister chose to dance in the streets with her flit and then collapse in the stables. Really, Mari? Find yourself a nice apprentice doing something. What is this? No, Skelly don't fight it. This is better for us all.
That poor search dragon, not one but three candidates and a green flit in one go?
Caelan enjoys being a candidate, he hopes that he will find a position of great power eventually. If he was a weyrleader it would mean security at least for him and his family. Not to mention metallic's are so gorgeous.
