The morning had passed like any other. Mkali has slept as long as she could, before being forced up. Food was eaten, her siblings and she watched over by mother and nannies alike. However when able she had, like many days, snuck off to her own adventures. These adventures she was quite fond of. They were her time to wonder of the outside world, what it was like and when she might see it. That, and collect a few shiny baubles to hide in her little treasure cove. The little lioness' collection had grown by one more shiny stone, this one almost shaped like a crescent moon. She beamed down at her little stash it 'treasures' before turning and bounding off back towards home.

Mkali dashed between the legs of larger lions, likely those returning or leaving for a hunt. As she neared the area where most nannies took the cubs to watch she slowed down, sneaking around rock and tree until she found her way to her other siblings. Many off playing here and there, and she payed most of them little mind as she made her way towards one in prticular.

"Bannie!" Mkali called out, pouncing playfully at her lighter sister. "I found a moon rock." She continued, this time more of a whisper as she shared word of her newest find with her sister.

This particular morning had been an eventful one of the little cub. Because of it, Huo Banshui was now under the watchful eye of a nanny at the request of her mother. Much to the disapproval of the young lioness who laid dejectedly on a flat rock near all of the adults. Her mother seemed to never approve of anything she did unless it was something that benefited her or at least that's what it seemed to the now grounded cub.

That was until Mkali, her sister, came snaking over to her. Her sisters alwasy knew how to brighten the day of each other and it was something they all seemed to appreciate. Raising her head, Huo Banshui looked at her sister with a puzzled look. "A...moon rock?" She replied, raising a brow to add to her confusion. "Hah! I found something that's a lot better than any old rock." Finally, a chance to tell someone about her outing. Maybe she could find out why mother was so upset.

Mkali glanced over at her mother, who had turned to look at her, and smiled innocently. She was sure her mother knew she had snuck off, but now that she was back under the elder lioness' watchful eye it would likely not be until they returned to the den that her mother would have words for her. That was fine though, as her curiosity had now been piqued by her sister's words.

"Something better than my moon rock?" She questioned, still whispering. Mkali settled herself down beside her sister, glancing back over at her mother, whose gaze had now shifted back to their other siblings, before daring to speak once more. "What is it? Did you find some secret cave of treasure or something?"

"Yep. A lot better than a moon rock." Huo Banshui replied, her own voice a whisper now as she quickly glanced around her to make sure none of others were listening before turning back to her sister. A mischievous grin spread on her face as she begun to speak on her incident that morning. "I met a prince from another pride this morning. Said he was going to be a king some day. He was on the border of the pride. Mama got really upset too. I'm still not sure why."

"What?" Mkali spoke, a bit louder than intended. She quickly glanced over at her mother, glad to see the elder lioness had either not noticed or chosen to ignore it. "You met a prince?" Mkali asked, leaning a bit closer to her sister. "What pride? Why was he here?" The questioned spilled forth, her own thoughts silently wondering on why their mother would be upset about this.

"Shh, don't let mother hear you!" The little lioness quickly shushed her sister, also sparing a glance at their mother before looking back to her. "Yes, I met a prince. He was quite handsome looking too!" Of course Huo Banshui had no trouble talking about him until it came down to why he was there and his pride. "He wouldn't...talk about his pride and I didn't ask him why he was here." Her voice and joy sank as she came to realize that she had no idea who he really was or why she had so readily trusted him. "Mother kept trying to get him to tell her where he was from but he kept...brushing it off no matter how many times she asked."

The excitement on her face quickly melted into a mask of skepticism. "So you met some prince but he wouldn't tell you his pride?" Mkali leaned back, watching her sister for some tell that this was all some sort of joke. "Sounds fishy." She said finally. "After all, what prince won't tell you what pride he comes from. Maybe he wasn't a prince at all, but just some lion trying to fool you for.." She paused, trying to think why someone would lie about being royalty. However when no ideas came to mind she shrugged. "Well, for some reason."

"He was to a prince!" Huo Banshui snapped, suddenly standing up to look down at her sister with anger in her eyes. Out of all of her sisters, she had expected Mkali to be the one to actually believe her. "Maybe he was just on some secret mission and telling me would have blown his cover!" Her paw stamping on the rock beneath her to reaffirm her statement after she finished with it. The little outburst was enough to draw the attention of a few of the lionesses that lay around watching their own children. One of them including their mother who was now watching them rather curiously.

What she said must have struck a chord with her sister, for suddenly she was on her feet insisting quite adamantly that the lion she met was, in fact, a real prince. However she did so quite loudly, garnering some attention from the adults around them. Not wanting to continue this fuss Mkali stood up and nodded. "Well that would make sense, if that were the reason." It wasn't a complete lie either, though she wondered quietly why he would have been secret in the Pridelands about it, but didn't linger on that thought for too long.

"Still dunno what some prince on a super secret mission would want with you though." She said more playfully, lightly bopping her sister on the head with her paw. With that she turned and bounced away, giggling as she hopped down the rocks to join the mass of other young lions below.

The fire-tailed lioness frown, her cheeks puffing slightly as she received the bop on the head from her sister. "Who knows." It was quite an honest statement though. She really didn't know what a prince would want from a little cub. It's not like she was in a seat of power or anything. Maybe he was after information from her! Well, she'd just have to ask him next time she saw him. Finally she said something though as she crumbled into a ball on her rock once more. Her tail tucked neatly against her as she turned her head away from her sister, not caring that she had already left. Ears pinned back, she pouted. "Well..whatever."
